Our 20+ year old motorhomes transmission broke stunningly on our way to a Marching Band competition this fall. I began searching high and low for anyone who could do Motorhome transmission work and was coming up empty. I picked Walker Transmission off of a google search and called them. We have had terrible encounters with transmission shops before so I was skeptical. I spoke with Tony on the phone and he was the first reason I chose Walker. He was knowledgeable and took oodles of time to talk to me about my situation and how their shop worked. Then he took the time to talk to my husband, skeptic #2. Any shop that offers information about their warranty instead of me having to ask about one is special. We brought our vehicle in and were again treated with first class customer service. Their staff is not only very informed about their craft but genuinely friendly as well. They spent time to interview us on the problem, test drive the vehicle to verify the problem and then to call us before they did a thing to tell us what they thought and provide an accurate quote. They fixed the transmission in the time the said, kept in contact with us all the way and also fell into the range they quoted. All in all we have been very happy with our experience. I would recommend Walker Transmission to anyone. Be sure to ask them all the questions you like and they have the customer service and know how to do the job right.

My extended family and I have had Walker do multiple things over the past 10 or more years on quite a number of our vehicles. They do more than transmission work. Also, being native to the area, theyve been there a long time so they are pretty established which I also like. I find Tony great to work with (so many shops dont get the value of a guy like him that can communicate) and their work is great, always well-scheduled with turn-around times being met, and typically very reasonable prices (especially in light of the quality). I echo that I am also always impressed with the overall condition of the shop and just the overall way they do business and I think that says a lot. I can recall one issue I had with my truck that was admittedly tricky. When I found it was not fully fixed I brought it back and they worked at it for no extra charge and got it right (also always very good at explaining what all they did, any issues they had, etc. which I REALLY appreciate as someone not completely foreign to mechanical endeavors myself.) They are typically my first call for most work I need done.

Im very pleased with the service I received here. The desk/phone guy was knowledgeable enough. A different shop in Maine told me it would be $2000 at least to open it up and fix it. After leaking ATF all the way to Denver, I got advised that my tranny could have a new rear tail shaft bearing put on my 1987 Toyota truck motorhome without completely dissasembling it. These guys were able to do that, and also replace a sticking U-Bolt that may have been causing the problem. I also liked that they dropped the tranny pan after servicing it to check for metal shavings etc., this is a type of quality assurance. Because of their service my motorhome made it to Vancouver BC, LA, Las Vegas, Houston, New Orleans, Key West, and back home to Maine. Thank You. For 5 stars, the price could have been $400 instead of $500, it would have been ready friday afternoon instead of monday morning, and the front desk guy would have been less awkwardly intense, although he is enthusiastic at least. Highly recommended

My experience with Walker has been great and they will continue to get my business for years to come. I brought my 350z to them a year ago for a clutch replacement and to install a beefier clutch fork. I initially bought my own parts for them to install and it turned out that the clutch kit I had purchased did not work with my current set up in the car and Walker not only explained over the phone about the difference between the types of flywheels that caused my parts to be insufficient, but even brought me in the back and showed me first hand how everything worked and tied together. A year later, my clutch felt the same as when I had initially brought it to them, and it just so happened I called with ONE day left in my warranty. Fortunately there was nothing wrong with my clutch, and the pedal just needed some adjusting. Walker made this adjustment for free, honoring their warranty, and I had my car back that day. GREAT place, GREAT staff, and GREAT work.

We were surprised how clean the shop was. Rick and Tony were very professional and explained in detail the work to be performed. They showed us the used parts and what was replaced during the repair. We brought in our 2002 F-150 with transmission issues and all repairs were thoroughly explained in detail and communication was never an issue. We also gave them a 1932 Ford roadster for transmission work and upgrades and they took great care in keeping it covered and protected for a two week time-span. We have also brought them a 1997 F-250 due to a squirrel eating the wire harness and not shifting correctly. All in all, work was completed with extra care and extra time was spent to ensure all repairs were correct and we were happy.

Most certainly my go-to place for all car issues. The only honest and straight shooting car place around here. Definitely trust the work and word of the people here. Brian fixed my jeep after another place did a very sloppy job not fixing my car,and if it werent for the people here at Walker,I wouldnt been forced to go back to the place that messed up my jeep due to a warranty, Brian talked to dude at the other place and got everything done, and pro,and took into consideration that I needed my car for work in the morning..Good people here, fixing your car isnt a good experience, but the people here made this as little as headache as possible.. thanks again! Would def recommend. Ill be back forsure.

Walker Transmission has maintained and fixed several transmission / clutch applications on our cars - mainly performance muscle cars. They are the best and I feel very comfortable recommending them to other friends and fellow racers. I race a beautiful and fast 69 Plymouth Roadrunner at Bandimere Speedway - Walker Transmission has maintained the transmission / converter; the work they do is right the first time. I feel comfortable that the job was done right.

Called just now to try and get a quote on paper sometime in the next few days for simple brake pads and rotors on a Range Rover. I can look at Amazon and see part prices, so why can Walker not give me a quote without me bringing in the car? They cant call their parts people get prices then add their labor to give me the quote? Sounds like you want to charge me an unnecessary diagnostic fee.....your loss on a high paying Range job guys............

Tony has to be the nicest mechanic Ive ever talked to. I had a problem with my Ford Explorer Sport Trac and I feared an expensive repair. Before he ran up a bill a mile long, he looked at other options and found it was a minor repair and didnt even charge me! Thank you Tony! If you need transmission work done, you wont find a more honest shop
