Reserved a unit online. "Chad" called and we made an appointment for 2:30 that day. I showed up at the property at 2:30 and there was no one there. The office was locked and no one was answering the phone. I waited until 2:45, then called them again and left a message. I eventually left at 2:50 after waiting for 20 minutes and not being helped and feeling very disrespected. Another employee, "Dakota" called me a few times over the next two days, leaving a message each time. The last time he called me was 3 days later at 5:08 p.m. and said the reservation would be cancelled that night. I showed up right before 5:30 and "Dakota" pretended he didnt know who I was and said he "couldnt find" my reservation and that maybe it was at another property. I then told him that I recognized his voice and that he had called me only 20 minutes earlier regarding the reservation. He then admitted he had cancelled it, but that he could still get me into a unit. I thought, okay cool - that works. So he then goes on to talk about the prices and I tell him how I had booked it at a much lower rate online. He said he wouldnt be able to honor that, it had to made online and that it was now "too late" in the day to make it online and still get into the unit that same day. Then he goes on talk about the move-in costs and that it will end up being about $210 to move-in versus the less than $50 I was looking at with my online reservation. I told him again that I had booked it for the $1 first month promo online and he said they could no longer honor that... I suggested that since it was his companys fault, not mine, that I had missed the first appointment (no employees there) and that he had cancelled the reservation only minutes after calling me despite saying it would be cancelled "tonight" which makes one assume means "at closing time" that they simply honor or "un-cancel" the original reservation. Dakota would not do any "real" problem solving other than to give me the universal canned response "I understand, I wish there was something I could do to help." My reply each time was, "This is an easy fix, just honor the original reservation, your company made the mistake, not me" and his reply to that was always "I cant do that" or "I can set you up at another property"... Dont use this property - I found the property at 2600 Sheridan Blvd to be a better choice and was given great customer service at that property.

I have always been thoroughly impressed with the high level of customer service at this location. Chads congenial disposition is irresistible and his smile infectious. These reasons alone have kept me coming back here to store my worthless knickknacks for the last 8 years. Despite the fact that the cylinder lock on my door probably holds a higher commercial value then the collective sum of everything in the unit in which it secures, I will continue to come here year after year and happily squander my hard-earned money just to be in the presence of Chads greatness, bi-weekly. His positive attitude and unwavering glow makes it so easy for me to forget the financial atrocities I commit every calendar month by paying a premium to store such modest wares. Chad has made me more comfortable accepting the poor life decisions Ive made and instead I now celebrate them. I am no longer a man whose worth is measured by the contents of his 5x10. Thanks, friend! I will be a loyal customer here as long as Chad is around.

If I could give it less than a one star, I would. They put us in a storage unt that they knew leaked when it snowed. AFTER our stuff was damaged they told us that every time is snows, the business beside (and elevated) the storage unit plows their parking lot to just above our unit, and when it melts, the unit leaks. They refused to pay to have our stuff moved into a different unit, said we had to pay out of pocket for the move. And as gracious as they are, they offered to put us in a until 5 doors down, that had water stain marks on the inside. Needless to say weve moved our stuff to a non-Public Storage facility. BTW, do you know how much a wet tempurpedic bed weights??? I do... Thankfully we selected insurance, but Public Storage knew they put is in a unit that leaks and then did nothing to assist once we realized it. Would never use a Public Storage facility again.

I signed up for a storage unit, online, based on the many positive comments I had read about Chad. There were several Public Storage unit facilities nearby but reading about Chad helped us in our decision to rent a unit at the 850 Simms Street location. Our experience with him was fabulous!!! The reviews were exactly right!!! He was very patient in working with our ever changing schedule during the day we were to arrive with our load of stuff. I had to change our arrival time more than once and he was totally okay with that. Upon our arrival, the check-in process was very quick and Chad was very professional and friendly. Chad certainly knows about how to treat the customers right!!! I accidentally had left a cup of soda in the office after checking in and as we were leaving, he brought the cup out to me...:) Thanks for a great experience!!!!

This storage unit was great until we tried to close out the unit. We paid off our bill in December and began moving our things out of the storage unit. While we were transporting items out they placed a lock on the unit and we couldnt get back in. On three separate occasions in the month of December we went back to get our stuff out and there was nobody there to let us into the unit. In the mean time they continue to charge every month and they are always selling your stuff. The bill is now nearly 289.00 plus the 220 I paid in December. That makes the cost 169.00 per month since December for a 63.00 storage unit. I will never use this company again.

We have another storage unit at another property. I always go and pay my bill there because it is closer to my house. Every time I have gone in to pay my bill, Chad is there and he is always friendly and welcoming. We prefer to go there to pay our bill, because I do not care for the property manager at the place we have our unit at. He even met my daughter for the first time the other day and they were joking like they have known each other forever. We just rented another unit from him and as soon as we can we will be moving the other unit to his place. To lose Chad would be to lose a friend.

Ive had my storage unit at this location for about a year now. Ive had storage units before, at other locations and this one is far and away the best. Chad is great to work with - I recently lost the key to my lock. Not only did he arrange to have it cut off within 24 hours, he also only charged me for the the new lock - no fee to cut the old one off. Theyve also called to remind me my payment is due BEFORE the late fee kicks in. Of course, Id rather not have to have a storage unit at all, but given thats not an option - I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this Public Storage.
