Forget these guy! I called DRAINDOCTOR in an emergency to come out and fix a bad leak in a copper piping that was shooting a small stream of water up through the new kitchen floor boards from the basement below. I was told by the nice lady who answered the phone that Tom, the plumber, was on another large job hooking up a system to the water main. When he called, I thought he was very professional. He told me that he would be here around 5 in the evening. 5 came and he didnt show up. So I called and a different lady answered the phone (obviously a family run business) and told me that she would give Tom my message. 6 came and went -- no phone call -- no Tom. At 6:30, I placed another phone call to DRAINDOCTOR. I was livid now. Trying to compose myself, I said; "What kind of customer service is this?" If they couldnt meet my needs, why didnt they just say so as I had stayed in all day waiting for this plumber to show up? Fifteen minutes later, Tom FINALLY calls. He was very polite and told me that he was still working on hooking this system up to a main line. I said; "Give me an exact time -- not an approximate time; that youll be here. I am holding dinner off until you get here." He told me around 8-8:30 approximately." It was then that I said; "Forget it, I could have gotten someone else out here. But, in good faith, I believed you could have been here many hours sooner. Why didnt you just tell me that today was an impossibility and I would have called another plumber?" He totally understood, so he said. This miscommunication and putting me off was frustrating and is bad customer service. This lead me to believe that I could not trust DRAINDOCTER. They should be more upfront with their customers and this is why I gave them one star for not delivering, procrastinating or keeping their word.

I do NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone. Its not the service, its because he wasnt honest about the fee. And pricing is a bit of a rip off. Had a leak under the sink. WE replaced the pipes but couldnt tighten one cap enough. Spoke with Tom - asked 3 times what the charge would be. Answer - $70 plus parts. Explained that no parts were needed . Asked 3 times about the charge and told the same each time - $70 plus parts. I also told him I had a $15 coupon. Everything is fine. The plumber, also named Tom, came promptly. Then Im told there is an ADDITIONAL $171 charge for labor. The $70 is apparently to drive the truck. Then its another $171 for labor and additional charges if parts are needed. When I spoke with Tom on the phone he never mentioned $171 + $70 + parts. First - his was totally misleading on his part - I did not have the information I needed to make an informed decision - and I specifically asked about the charges 3 xs. Second - this is a total rip off. $171 for labor should cover the cost of driving to the house. Unfortunately, I had it done because I just needed it fixed and couldnt wait anymore. It took 15 minutes to do. Service was fine.

Our experience with Tom and his team was very positive. We had a pipe that was backing up that was causing water to seep onto our bathroom floor. Our neighbors recommended Drain Doctor and we called right away. Within minutes of leaving a message with their voicemail operator, Tom called us back to hear what was wrong and to let us know when he could inspect the problem. The next day he came out, analyzed the issue, and gave us detailed best and worst case scenarios along with costs. He explained everything in detail. Within a few days, him and his team flushed out the roots growing in our pipes. They did the job without overcharging. We feel comfortable working with Tom and his team in the future. We highly recommend the Drain Doctor!

Invited Drain Doctor to provide an estimate for addressing drainage issue on my property. Instead of a free quote (which is what I requested) I received an invoice claiming some work, which was never requested, authorized or agreed upon. Despite my legitimate dispute of the charges Drain Doctor keeps increasing the invoice amount and has now engaged some collection agency. I will not only refrain from recommending this plumbing company but will actively and aggressively communicate my experience and their unethical behavior as widely as possible. This will help preempt a similar experience for other unsuspecting customers.

Tom and his guys are the best! Had a collapsed waste line pushing yucky stuff back into house. Tom carefully explained my options: multi day project which would have included tearing up yard and sidewalk and porto potty in driveway or the NuFlow pipe liner which was cheaper and meant no big digging job. One day job and only a short period without water. Tom gave me all the pros and cons to each option and all the prices. The only plumber I will ever call again is the Drain Doctor.
