My experience starts with the desire to purchase a excellent quality, meticulously well serviced, used vehicle. Easily enough I located my preferred vehicle on the Subaru Stamford web site and arranged to travel from NY to Stamford Ct. to inspect and test drive the car. At my scheduled time I was greeted by Aki Stefanidis. I explained my interests and goals in buying a used car and requested some background information on the car. Aki seeing I was informed and knowledgeable showed his respect by offering me the courtesy of test driving the car alone (I am insured.) Needless to say a bond was formed with the start of exceptional customer service. Closing the Deal! After a 24 hour period of considering my options, it was now time to negotiate price and service, a true test of any dealership’s commitment to customer service. Aki and Bobby were great. In a fairly short amount of time we were able to meet at a fair price that included a mechanical inspection and detailing. There were no pressure tactics, except for the reality that it was rare vehicle at a fair price. I offered my deposit and they began the purchase process. Brad in financing was direct and transparent with the finance options that were at competitive rates. Vehicle Delivery: All is well the family is excited and loves their new (technically used) vehicle. Hold Everything!! One week after taking delivery its very car buyer’s nightmare - Mechanical Problems! Now this may indeed be the ultimate test of a dealership. Subaru Stamford stepped up and honored their word and purchase contract. Confident in the cars they sell, Bobby and Aki calmly suggested we discover what was going on mechanically. Working with me and the service department they uncovered the minor malfunction on an otherwise excellent vehicle and authorized the repair. All is well again. Great Cars start with Great Service!! My family and I have been driving our car now for a month and its been a pleasure. Much of our enjoyment and in part much of our relief is due to the quality customer service received. Aki, Bobby, Brad and Stamford Subaru in general get high marks - They are the model of what the car buying experience should be like, honest and customer care. But don’t take my word for it... Experience it for yourself!

The only reason Im not giving this establishment one star is because the price of our used 2014 Forester was one of the best near us. I contacted a salesman a few days prior to confirm that the car I was interested in was at the dealership and set up a general time to come in and meet with him about the car. The car drives nice and they give us a good deal on our trade-in and said he would include all weather floor mats with the car, so we signed the papers and left a deposit. Salesman says he will call on Tuesday to let us know the status of the car but says it should be ready Wednesday. Tuesday afternoon, about half an hour before closing, we still hadnt heard anything. I call and find out that our salesman doesnt even work on Tuesdays, and that the car will be ready on Thursday. We get there and the car is in the process of being detailed. We didnt finance the car but we met with the finance guy to give him the cashiers check for the car and when we asked where the third key for the car was, he said (in a very condescending tone), "Yes. It is in the car. Theyre detailing it." He continued to say that our trade-in was coming to the age where it would start to become a bad car, and that he was surprised it lasted us 6 years. After finally dealing with him, we find our car freshly detailed and with the floor mats as promised, but only a 1/4 of gas left. We have bought used cars from Honda, Ford, and Mercedes-Benz. All three dealerships have given us a full tank of gas with our purchase. 2 weeks into ownership, I look under the drivers seat to find a food wrapper. At this point, I was the only person driving the car and I had never eaten food in it. Earlier this week, I kept noticing the floor mats didnt fill out the footwells and there was dirt on the actual carpet of the car. I flip over the floor mats to find out theyre meant for a 2008 Impreza. Last time I checked, I didnt buy a 2008 Impreza. I bought a 2014 Forester. I have to bring in the car for its 22,500k mile service and Im going to bring the car to Rye Subaru. I do plan on owning more Subarus in the future, but I do not plan on ever returning to Stamford Subaru.

When we entered the Subaru of Stamford Dealership we knew it would be a serious challenge to find a quality used car, on our limited budget, which would meet our needs, and have at least 5 good years left on it without, being a money pit! Aki Stefanidis greeted us and asked what we were looking for. As soon as he heard our requirements, Aki said he had just the car but it was slightly above the price we gave him. We test drove the car and couldn’t believe it’s excellent condition. We knew it was worth every bit of the asking price but we just didn’t have any wiggle room in our budget. Aki was unlike any car salesperson we had ever experienced! He was very knowledgable and informative, without being pushy. He was professional, friendly, patient, and understanding. He took the time to listen to our needs and and respect them. Instead of trying to talk us into something else, he worked with us to make the car that fit our needs work for us. It all seemed too good to be true so we took a day to consider other options and make sure the car Aki showed us was the right one for us. It didn’t take long to realize there was no better car, or price, for our purposes, in all of Fairfield County. And besides, we liked Aki and wanted to give him the business! While my husband had been in touch with Aki the day we purchased the car, he forgot to confirm that we were actually coming by to finalize the sale that day. As a result, the car was not ready when we arrived. Aki took it all in stride and said he could have it ready in 30 minutes. We later found out he had actually readied the car himself because no one else was available to do it with that quick a turnaround! Aki went above and beyond in everyday possible way to make this the best car buying experience we have ever had! There are several family members who plan to purchase cars sometime over the next year and I will most definitely steer them towards Aki and Subaru of Stamford! And we’ll be back ourselves, in the not-too-distant future, to purchase a second car from Aki! Thank you Aki & Stamford Subaru!

Bought one of their used cars. I took it into a mechanic before I decided to buy it and found that the front bumper was cracked and the plastic under paneling needs replacing. They neglected to tell me that before I took the two hour trip to see the car. The carfax shows it was in a previous minor accident and they werent really transparent with telling me about it. When I came back and showed them the damage, they offered to take the price of repair off of the sales price. All in all we got a good deal and were willing to take it to our guy to fix it. The process was pretty easy, no extra fuss or blowing smoke. As for their professionalism the pre-owned department couldnt have been worse when customers were there. 1 employee was having a very loud (and honestly interesting) phone conversation about suing someone for assault or something. The other salesmen were talking super loud and I could easily see how some customers would be offended by what they were saying. The salesmen who met with us spend the first 5 minutes on the phone and kept shouting out his office talking to the other salesmen about things un-related to us. I wasnt really treated like they wanted me there as a customer BUT I didnt really care. I was there to buy a car only and didnt need to be "sold to the dealer" When I got the car they didnt really detail it. There were obvious sticky spots from food/drinks that could have easily been removed. Again, I dont really care since Ill clean the car anyways, but like 10% more effort could have fixed this. If youre only looking to buy a car these guys are good to go. Dont walk in expecting them to treat you like a valued customer though.
