I cannot say thank you enough to these guys. My car knowledge is enough to make me dangerous- I know something is wrong and Ill have an idea of what it is but unfortunately I dont have the first idea how to fix it. This place is amazing. Every time I go there whoever Im talking to is earnest, honest, and helpful. They give me straight answers. Ive been here four times in the past year. 1) I had my oil changed at jiffy lube (worst idea ever) and when I get home I realized they forgot to secure the plastic undercover of the car. I went to these guys and explained the problem (jiffy lube denied it was their problem and said they didnt have the parts to fix it). Auto Tech had one of their guys climb under the car right then and there, grabbed a few screws and fixed it on the spot FOR FREE. Think about that. After that they earned my trust and my return business. 2) Went there to get a flat tire fixed: fair price and fast service. 3) Went there to get my oil changed: fair price and fast service. 4) I had recently bought a used car and didnt realize until the night after I drove it home that one of the turn signals was flashing the wrong bulb (I thought I had checked this out there, but during the bright day time I hadnt noticed that one side was flashing the wrong bulb). When I went to Auto Tech the guy popped the trunk, opened the break light panel, did something (it was that fast), put it back and it was fixed. FOR FREE. While admittedly it was an easy fix, I was still clueless as to the procedure and the process and they completely put my mind at ease. They are genuinely good people here. Support their business. Be understanding if they make a mistake, they are human.

These guys are great!!! But I took away one star for two reasons, (1) they dont have a website and (2) their building looks rather sketchy. Other than that, these guys have continued to impress me over and over again. I was super hesitant to go at first, but a friend convinced me to try them and Im glad I did! They are super easy to work with and talk to and always treat everyone fairly. For example, I needed quite a few things replaced on my truck (and I dont know much about cars and such) and they told me how much all the parts would be. I was kind of taken aback at the price. They explained that it was high because they have to order from the manufacturer, but I could order them myself online and get them much cheaper. Then they would only charge me for the labor. They wrote down everything I needed and I went online to order it all. I returned with the items and they installed them in no time. They easily saved me $150+ off my bill. Lastly, they dont do appointments, you just show up with your vehicle and they take a look at it and so on. Seriously, these guys are great! If you live in the AdMo, Dupont, Woodley Park area, definitely check these guys out.

The people in the service department went out of their way to help me. When I told the guys I was hearing a weird sound under the hood, they jumped immediately to rescue me from this problem. Within minutes, a very thorough technician - cant remember his name but he asked GREAT questions about the nature of the noise and possible problem - was riding next to me on a test drive. Could not get sound to re-occur. BUT, the service technician offered to put car up on rack and take a good look as he didnt want me back on the highway if something was wrong. All of this was done quickly, with a warm smile, and with my safety being of paramount importance. I was saved by these guys, since I was on my way to sell it at repokar, and of course no one would have offered the price I wanted if something was wrong with it.

ISNT IT AMAZING THAT THERE ARE STILL HONEST MECHANICS? I continue to sent my friends to Auto Tech Services, otherwise we would be driving out to the suburbs to get work done on our cars. I have taken my car to ATS a couple of times now. Both times I have told them I think something is wrong (brakes and sensor) after some remedial internet searching. They take a look, and if its not wrong, they dont scam you and "fix it" anyways. I mean, I was basically asking them to change something. In fact, they have done some extra cleaning (without charge) for a sensor in order to try not replace it. And if you still feel like you are not getting a good deal/service, you can order your own part and bring it in (not worth it because these guys are so great!)

These guys are great. I am a young woman who unfortunately knows very little about cars. I read the reviews of this place and decided to give it a try. I had a broken headlight from a recent fender bender, which they replaced for about $40. They also reduced the size of the dent in the side of my car. In an unrelated matter, I discovered my alternator was broken. The Auto Tech guys could have ordered a new one and installed it for about $350, but instead they told me the current alternator looked fairly new and suggested I check my warranty on it. As it turns out, my parents had replaced it last year at a different auto shop, which will be fixing it for free. I was very appreciative of Auto Techs honesty. Bottom line - highly recommend them!

Awful customer service! I left a flat tire there this morning, which they insisted theyd fix in the afternoon. When 5:00 rolled around, I called and asked what the status was. They told me theyd forgotten about it and that theyd fix it right away and I should come in for it. Being across town, I fought through traffic to get there whereupon they refused to put the tire on my car. They insisted they were closed at 5:30 and would not mount the tire for me unless I came back the next morning. Why was I instructed to drive across town, then? They refused to change their minds but didnt charge me for fixing the tire. I wound up changing it myself in the rain as they closed up shop--it took me 10 mins. Why couldnt they be bothered?

Im an idiot when it comes to cars. I was nervous taking my car to a shop for that reason - the guys here did a great job. I was told by the AAA guy that the alternator was broken in my car. So I called Auto Tech and took it there when they quoted me the lowest price. When I brought the car in, they checked it themselves and determined that the alternator was fine. Not only that, but rather than charge me for a new battery, they said I should first look to see if the battery was still under warranty from the place i bought it. It was. Auto Tech didnt charge me anything for the help they gave. Someone less scrupulous could have taken hundreds. Great place. very pleased.

My vehicle failed a safety inspection at the DMV, the DMV gave me a sheet of paper with a list that was wrong with the car. I called Auto Tech and explained the situation, they said it is something they can easily fix but I would have to come in the next day at 8am because they go by first come first serve, no appointments. I came in, the owner immediately greeted me and asked to take a look at the car, he took care of the issue in no time and I was on my way. Totally fair, totally honest, even though I had a very brief encounter with them this time around, I am already a loyal customer to these guys. This is a rare thing to find in a city like DC.
