They are usually good but dont let them take advantage of you. Get a little bit informed before taking your car. They will see your car keys and tell you right away you need a new transmission! I took my car a few months a go for a simple oil change, which ended up being a 3 hour oil change. Why? Well, when they gave me my car back, I noticed the old tyres were in the front and the new ones in the rear. Of course I know why they did this (They wanted me to finish wearing the tyres faster so a month later I would be in their front desk asking for tyre prices, and for the record, those tyres were still good, they just wanted me to wear them faster...). When I refused to pay and asking politely to switch the tyres just like they were before (and then I would pay), the manager then proceeded to tell me this: "We cannot do this, If something happens to you, we will be liable and its unsafe), so they were basically telling me its "safer" to put the older tyres in the front (where we obviously have the steering plus, my car is a front wheel drive car). Then they told me my brakes needed to be replaced, but not just the pads or calipers or something like that, they wanted me to replace the whole system and, again, told me my car was unsafe and gave me a quote for a $700 job. The next day, I took my car to an honest mechanic and said the only thing I needed was a new brake cylinder, which was $25 ($50 installed). Guys, your service is good and awesome and I know you want to sell because its your business and thats how you make money but dont take advantage of people. Imagine if I wouldve bought your cheap lie and actually drive the car. Then, I wouldve lost traction more easily and then, it wouldve actually be unsafe to drive (in the rain). I wont be taking my car to your store for any service from now on. Sorry, but I cant trust a store that risks their customers life just to make money and I certainly will not recommend any of my friends taking their cars in. I mean, who knows what kind of oil are you even using, as I saw your mechanics taking them from white containers.... The only cool thing about your store are the little Traxxas RC cars, though.

I initially took my car to Gary Yeomans for them to check out my cars front brakes, and after they offered me a ridiculous charge, I decided to take my car to Pep Boys for them to replace my front brakes and rotors. I already tried working on my front brakes and I knew there was something wrong with my calipers, so Pep Boys was able to keep my car overnight until they got the hardware kit to repair my calipers. Then, right before they closed, I got a phone call stating that my "broke hose has a pin-sized hole and is leaking break fluid all over the floor." Now, since I took my car to a dealership and they "inspected" it for ANY problems that MIGHT affect me YEARS down the road, dont you think they wouldve said something about my break hose leaking fluid all over their floor? After a long day of getting walked over by all the dishonest mechanics in this town, I told the young man on the phone that it is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY if my brake hose is needing replaced - by the way, the brake hose was $27.99, but they wanted to charge an extra $80 for labor. Also, my car had not been leaking ANY fluid, and a break hose leak wouldve been VERY noticeable in my driveway. That young man said he would talk with his manager, but never called me back. I called the next afternoon to pick up my car and was told that they had to replace the brake hose anyway, but they werent going to charge me for it. I left with a repaired car, but it was upsetting that these mechanics felt they could take advantage of another "car-illiterate woman."

Great place? They obviously hired people to make these reviews because this place is the worst. place. ever. to get maintenance done. First walked in and explained clearly what I wanted to a guy named Richie but he goes and tells a different person, infront of my face, that he doesnt know what I want. So first they have some employees with some major hearing issues. Second, he tells me that he will contact me when they look over my car and get clear on what needs to be done. Never got that call. Tells me the car will be ready by 4pm. (I dont know if its just me, but when I tell someone Ill have something done by a certain time, I get it DONE by that time.) I called the place at 4pm, tells me itll be done at 6pm. So the employees here must also have some issues with memorization because they keep "forgetting" to update me. So thanks to them, I was late to my dentist appointment. Some employees here definitely lack professionalism, and if you are a busy person like I am, I suggest you look elsewhere. **UPDATE** Because the people out in the front werent telling me how long it would take for everything to be done, I went to the back and talked to the mechanic, and such a sweetheart. Told me what he exactly had left to do and all problems were solved. So I walk back up front to get cashback so I can give him some tips, but a bigger lady out in the front gives me an attitude.. Feel bad for the mechanic that works here. Has to deal with all these rude and uneducated people.

Ive had my truck aligned here 3 times now, all under the original alignment warranty. Aaron the store manager is extremely polite and friendly. Even though they had to align my truck 3 times due to modifications to the truck, he didnt even hesitate to realign the truck under warranty. First time the truck was out of spec due to aftermarket lifted knuckles. Second time was due to the first alignment causing my truck to pull a little bit (they fixed it without question). Third time was because of larger tires causing the toe in to be off. The employees Julie and Julie (one man, one woman) however didnt possess the finesse in friendliness that Aaron had. This honestly didnt bother me because my main priority lies in whether the job was done correctly. I mentioned the lack of finesse to Aaron and he said hell talk to the employees so Im confident it wont be an issue from here on. I didnt want anyone to get in real trouble, but some customers could take an employees attitude the wrong way and I didnt want that to happen. Overall great job, Aaron really did make the pep boys name shine. Ill be back (for more than just an alignment) because of the great service provided and the store manager Aaron being top notch.

IRRESPONSIBLE!!! Less than a ZERO. My car needed a regular oil change servicing. I went in Tuesday afternoon and made an 8 am appt for Wed morning. I parked my car in a spot in front of the maintenance bays doors at 7:20 am Weds. You could see it from every bay. I put my keys in the drop box with all my paperwork. Had a friend pick me up & take me to work. Left my car there ALL DAY. Got a ride back at 4:00 pm Weds. Car looked unmoved!! Went in to check out and they couldnt find my papers, so one of the guys went to the mechanic side, he was gone a few minutes only to come back and tell me that my car was put in the "forget me" pile !!! They had NOT touched my car!! How could they miss it, its a white Toyota Highlander one of only 2 car there in FRONT of the bay doors!! 8 bay doors open and only 2 cars on the racks that must have come in that afternoon. How can you not think why is that car here all day, I better check on it. And what is the “forget me” pile?! All i got was Im sorry. I told him this was unbelievable and to go get my keys, we were done speaking. My first time at Pep Boys and my last! RUN dont walk - away!
