I rented a 10x15 storage I paid almost $200 a month for about two years. I recently went to empty my unit and my whole unit was infested. There is piles of feces in all my boxes and a bad urine smell. The whole unit was also loaded with cockroaches, silverfish and some type of jumping spiders. I contacted the office and the manager said I could go to home depot and buy a bomb and bomb my unit. I didnt think that was enough assistance given my circumstance so I immediately contacted their 800 number. they told me not to worry that luckily I had insurance on my unit and gave me the insurance companies number. So next I gave them a call they started the insurance claim process and gave me a claim number. I told him that most of my belongings are destroyed. He advised me to take as many pictures as possible and have the items disposed of. I then hire a trash removal company who charges me $500 to disposes of almost everything my kids and I own. At this point I was in tears and completely distraught. I finally hear back from the insurance company and they inform me that my claim had been denied and that my insurance doesnt cover vermin or infestations. So I immediately call back the 800 number for extra space storage. The lady was very nice and consoled me I was literally hysterical crying at this point. She ended up emailing the area manager who would later call me and say the only thing he can for me is give me two months free on future storage. I think this is completely unfair. I feel I am entitled to a little more than future storage free. After all my belongings getting ruined and hardly have anything left to store. Ive spent about $5000 on storing my possessions just to have them all destroyed.

I went into the storage place to give me a storage unit setup was fine everything was fine it was done within 30 minutes within an hour I received a phone call from an apartment complex and let me know that I got approved I went back to the storage unit within the same hour and I asked for my refund to be processed because I got approved and that I would not need to storage space the guy in assisting me that hell try to see what you can do but he will speak to his manager when I got in the building his manager told me that they will not refund me my money because I put my stuff in the storage space although Im moving it out within the same hour and I will not be using for the month he said I can have it if I wanted I said to him that I did not need to stores because I need all the way I can get to go to this apartment I just got food and gas he didnt explain to me that theres nothing you can do we cannot process the refund bottom line is I never got any papers of signing up for this storage unit besides my receipt of swiping my credit card I will now get my $43 back because of the lack of information that was given to me please stay away from the storage unit please ask about the refund policy because they do not offer it with explaining everything

Very bad customer service. I reserved a unit in the ac almost a month in advance with a decent rate for 50% off the first month. When I arrived with the moving truck the manager said he didnt have me in the system for that unit. Then proceeded to tell me that he only had a bigger unit with no discount for the first month and it was more expensive. Long story short I ended up with a non ac unit outside with 25% off the first month. The manager didnt care that he did a bait and switch and continued to say he has no problem filling up these units so go somewhere else if you would like. My gate password didnt work 3 times I went there. Would NOT recommend this facility. Needs new manager. Too conceded and full of himself. Not for the better intrest of the customer.

I have rented with this particular location of Extra Space Storage since 2005. I first used them as a student at Nova Southeastern University, and then further along after I got my first apartment off campus. I am renting with them now since I moved again, using a 10 x 10 drive-up access unit. The premises are always clean, orderly, secure, and the staff is always friendly and willing to assist with any needs I may have. They were very courteous in checking me in, ensuring there werent any better prices first, and then showing me around to the unit. As a female, going to the unit alone at times, I have never once felt unsafe. Thanks Extra Space!! You have been great!

Rented a small unit at this facility for a good price with a free month as advertized on web. When come to this place I found out your free rent is a fiction since you must pay administrative fees. 5 month later they increase rent almost 30% saying it is current price for this unit and I should be expecting another price increase in 9 month again. What ever they do to get you in and become a customer they really don’t care if you stay for long. Place is rip of and scammers. I will not recommend this business for no one unless you want throw away your hard earned money for scam bags lake Extra Space Storage on 6550 Florida 84, Fort Lauderdale, FL

I want to start out by saying that I dont normally write reviews. The experiece Ive had with these guys though made it hard not to. My wife and I just moved here from Indiana, we needed some extra space for storage. We looked around at different places, but this place went above and beyond trying to get us exactly what we needed in the price range we needed it in. They were very up front and honest with us. Made us feel comfortable with our decision to use them and I would recommend them to anyone looking for storage. The facilities are well taken care of, and like I stated before, I cant praise the customer service we recieved enough.

This Davie Extra Space is my preferred location. Josh is the manager here, very attentive and gives excellent customer service. I once forgot to close my unit door and left it wide open! He promptly called me and asked about the open door within 15 minutes as he said he was doing rounds on the units. Easily saved me the rain storm that came later. All my things wouldve damaged so I appreciate the call. The facility is well maintained and lit at night. Ive had units indoors and outdoors and both are clean and functional. Overall pleasant experience so I recommend it. Good customer service makes all the difference!

I love the location...I feel safe going alone over to my unit; upon checking in the staff was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. Even though my unit is much too large I preferred a drive-up...the price is more than reasonable so I dont mind having the larger unit and extra room just in case. This is a small thing, but to me it made a big difference. Since I dont know how long I will need the storage unit I appreciate that my code is very easy to remember. I dont have to worry about carrying around my code or digging it up each time I need to visit. Thank you for helping to make my move easier!
