I recently went to Terry Wynter, where normally I go for a variety of services on my vehicles, to have a flat tire repaired. I have been there before for this vehicle to get tires. Because the nail that punctured my tire was too close to the sidewall, the tire had to be replaced, and the pair needed to be replaced to match the tread. I went with a cheaper tire this time to save some money. My selection was based on their recommendation that it was a good fit for my vehicle. I realized almost immediately something was wrong. My handling was very poor and my all wheel drive traction control system was not functioning properly. They recommended that I change the front tires, too, because all wheel drive systems on Audi Quattros have a maximum diameter difference, and I was out of specification. As luck would have it, I discovered a screw in a front tire, so those tires needed replacement anyway. Once all four were on the vehicle there was still a handling problem. Something just didnt feel right. They spent hours trying to diagnose the issue, trying to narrow it down to alignment, a bad tire, or something else. They were very diligent. In the end, the tires just didnt work out. We decided the only solution was to put the manufacturers original equipment tire on the vehicle. Terry Wynter did this at no extra cost other than the small difference in tire price. They went above and beyond to diagnose the issue and ultimately did the right thing, even thought it probably cost them quite a bit to make me happy. My car handles like it once did, and I am completely satisfied. In the end, I believe that the tire they recommended was not a good match due to a less stiff sidewall that the original equipment, but it is possible still that there was a bad tire from the manufacturer. I dont blame them for the recommendation because the tire did get good reviews. I only later found out that the sidewall isnt great for performance automobiles with low profile tires. They couldnt have reasonably anticipated that. My understanding is that the company was recently sold, and it appears that the new owner is taking over the same philosophy of making sure customers are satisfied. Despite the frustrations and time I spent to help resolve the issue, I am giving them five stars, which I feel says something about the kind of company they run. They really did want to make it right, and worked with me in a fair an honest manner.

My trusty 97 Jeep Cherokee’s air conditioner hadn’t worked for a year and I finally decided to have it looked at after a trip to Tennessee. I took it to Terry Wynter Auto Service Center, knowing the compressor bearing was going bad (obvious noise), and after the shop looked at it, Terry gave me the prognosis. The compressor was bad and would eventually destroy the serpentine belt which drives all the other accessories. Terry gave me a couple options (always nice to have options) lower cost to replace with a used compressor but no guarantee the AC would work, or install a new, lifetime guarantee compressor and have AC again, which is the option I chose. After picking up the car the AC was cold once again but didn’t last long. I returned to the shop and they found an electrical problem, I left the car and after a day’s work, they found bad connections in and under the fuse box, which they repaired. Terry suspected the issue was caused by the Jeep sitting outside not being driven for weeks to months at a time. I picked up the Jeep the next day and to my amazement, there was no additional charge for the extra day’s effort they put into finding and fixing the electrical problem. I can’t say enough about the positive work and business ethics Terry Wynter Auto Service Center has. Both Ryan and Terry were great to work with, and I appreciate their straight forward and honest attitudes. I am one satisfied and “cool” customer that will definitely return for any additional auto service that is needed on my vehicles.

Wow, this place is amazing! After a long drive from VA to Florida my 2005 Prius suddenly had a bunch of things go wrong at once. We had it checked out at the Toyota Dealership and the list of "necessary" repairs was very long, and VERY expensive. We took it here to get a second opinion, and Im so grateful that we did! Not only was the quote significantly cheaper for everything, but there were two major discrepancies between what Toyota recommended and Terry Wynters. One was an assessment of a fuse issue which Toyota claimed was actually a computer issue, which meant replacing an entire dashboard computer system. Terrys found the short in the fuse and fixed that instead - for hundreds of dollars less. Also, there was an issue with an oxygen sensor which Toyota also wanted to replace. Terrys found the actual problem, an earlier repair error which created a leak that made the oxygen sensor faulty. By fixing both of these legitimate problems and finding us a used part, we saved almost $1000, and have a car in great working order. They also were very communicative, prompt, and responsive about all the repairs. After a cross country road trip to California and almost 4,000 miles since then, our Prius is running great. Im so grateful to Terrys for helping us with a stressful car situation.

This week I called 7 different auto repair shops getting prices to replace the starter in my truck. Terry was the last number I called and Im so glad I didnt stop calling at 6 companies. Terry will now be my first call instead of just googling auto repair shops and hoping for the best. I told Terry that I needed a new starter and instead of spitting out a quote and trying to up sell me he took the time to ask what symptoms I was experiencing with the truck. After spending 5 minutes on the phone with Terry, he told me that he recommended I go to Auto Zone and replace my battery because it didnt sound like a problem with my starter at all. I was pleasantly surprised at his honesty and general care for doing what was right, not just what was profitable. I replaced my battery and sure enough that was the problem, not the starter. If I hadnt called Terry I wouldve spent around $360 with another mechanic who wouldve given me a new starter but not fixed the problem. Too often people tell the truth only if its convenient or profitable for them. Terry went above and beyond to help and do the right thing and didnt earn a dime off of me for helping. What he did earn, however, was my trust and hopefully a lot of future business from myself and others who I share this story with. Thanks again.

I cant say enough good things about this establishment! My 1st experience with Terry Wynter was when my van would not start (due to a dead battery). I didnt know what to do being that my husband wasnt home to help me but after talking with Terry he was quick to refer me in the right direction. Within a few hours I got my van towed (at a discounted price due to Terrys referal) to his shop and they were quick to start fixing the problem but not before calling and keeping me in the loop! My 2nd experience was when I needed to get our other car serviced. Everything went smoothly and they knew what needed to be done and did a great job with it. It wasnt until I went home and noticed a small issue with some body work that I dont remember being there. I called and brought it back in, they were quick to remedy the situation (even though they couldnt confirm or deny that it happened at the shop) by sending it to a body shop all on their dime! It was a quick fix and I had my car back the same day! They are an honest business and they treated me with kindness and to me that means so much! Ill be a customer for life! If youre unsure about bringing your car in, dont doubt any more! They really are wonderul!
