My first visit at Milex was okay. My check engine light was on and the guys said I needed a tune up and O2 censor replaced, which I was aware of. A week later the check engine light came back on, and a front wheel was making a grinding noise. He said I needed new rotars and brake pads, and then showed me my transmission fluid. He said it was dirty and that I needed a flush, and that there was also metal shavings present in the fluid which probably means transmission work would be needed in the near future. After this visit, I was skeptical and took it to a few other mechanics. Both said my fluid was a little dirty but no mental shavings were present. They also said my rotars were fine, and that I only needed front brake pads. The noise that I was hearing from my front wheels was a bad right wheel barring. They also said I was leaking transmission fluid, when I wasnt prior to taking it to Milex. I took it to a transmission shop and had it fixed for $65. They also confirmed that everything was in good shape. While the boys at Milex were nice and personable, they were taking advantage of me. I think the guy at Milex showed me dirty motor oil counting on my ignorance dealing with mechanics, instead of showing me my actual tranny fluid. I would hate to think that mechanics would sabotage a vehicle... But my trust in them is tarnished and I would recommend going elsewhere.

I was having significant issues with my vehicle. I brought it into another car service shop earlier in the day. They wouldnt touch my vehicle, and by time I left I thought it was doomsday. I called Milex/Mr. Transmission and spoke to Richard, and explained the situation. He told me to bring the vehicle right in. Within a few minutes of arriving was greeted by Richard, gave him my information and the keys to my car. Within Id say 10-15 my car was test driven and on the lift. They found the issues, came to get me and showed me/ explained what was going on. Gave me a quote and an estimated time frame the vehicle would be done. Richard had Fernando drop me off at my home and pick me up when the vehicle repairs were done. In the event the vehicle was not done, they offered to bring me to my appointment on the other side of Palm Harbor. The vehicle was done exactly when Richard said it would be. Richard and Fernando were straightforward and right to the point, they were honest and their customer service was awesome, and of course the price was very reasonable. It was the first time significant work was done and I didnt feel like I was being taken advantage of and unnecessary work being done. I highly recommend Milex/Mr. Transmission and they will now be my go to for all issues with my vehicle.

BEWARE! My son had his 2002 BMW x5 towed to Milex in Holiday because of a coupon stating free tow and diagnostic with repair. He had no brakes. He received a quote for repair totaling $2474 + TAX, front pads-180, brake booster-1142, master cylinder-747, CV axle-231, bleed system-40, Break wear sensor-134. The parts from the local parts store came to under 550. He opted not to have the work completed here. Fernando, the owner charged him $186 for towing 3 miles and diagnostic. I called the tow company to see what the cost of towing would be, $44. I called Milex to see what a diagnostic would be for brake and transmission problem even if I did not have the work done there. I was told there would be no charge. I went to Milex with the quote stating that the master cylinder had to be pulled to pull the booster and they were charging double labor since the part was $135. I was then informed that they mark their parts up 3x their cost. Richard was very nice, Fernando, the owner, was defending his thievery to the max. They charged to bleed the system even though it had to be done to repair the booster. I had AAA tow it to Tire Outlet in New Port Richey. The master cylinder is NOT bad. The rest of the work needs to be done. My price from them is under $800!

I called and spoke with Richard the manager to ask for an appointment and he was very nice and stated to come in early the next day and would be happy to check out my transmission . I went in the next morning to have the transmission checked. Richard and his crew inspected my car they told me was not my transmission. but found about four other problems one was a cracked motor mount and Two rotors needed replaced which I was told before. I was impressed how they checked other possible reasons for my car problem. I had previously went to AAmco, and well just say they was going to charge me for something that did not need done. After I had Richard at Milex Mr. Transmission finish the work on my car, I feel much more safe. Richard let me know my car is now in very good shape to take long trips. I would recommend this place to everyone who needs honest people working on your vehicle. they know what they are doing. Thanks so much Richard.

I would give them a 0 if that was possible. They will tell you 98$ to determine the problem and spend 30-45 min of that on the phone and walking away from your car to look at another car. Then come in and tell you man we need to keep it over night and it will be 98$ an hour. As I started asking more questions their responses was we will just back your car out and say have a good day. Theyre the reason you can trust a mechanic. I went to Good Year down the street $289.00 and my car is fixed. $79.00 to determine the issue and $210 for parts and labor. These fools wanted a entire day and $98 and hour. They will then tell you everyone else is the same they will probably be higher. Thank you crooks for sending me on my way.

My son and I went to Milex after he got a ridiculous quote from the dealership for a Diagnostics Test. He called first and spoke to Richard who told him the Diagnostics Test would be "FREE"! Richard gave my son a great price for what needed to be done after the Test. It was A LOT cheaper than what the dealership had quoted him. I will be going there along with my husband for both our vehicles from now on. He seems very trustworthy, and I could tell from talking to him that he would do only what is needed on our cars. You go to other places and they always try to make you pay more just because they want to make money, and your car may not even need anything else done! Thanks, Richard!! Youre awesome!!! I had new tires put on my car at a different local place they told me I needed some expensive suspension work. I called Richard @ Milex because he has always been straight with me. He told me over the phone it was a con. I brought my car to him for regular scheduled maintenance Rich found multiple issues. I didnt want to spend the money but I knew he wasnt pulling my chain and I cant afford a new one so I had it all done except the catalytic converter. I figured I could beat the price of the converter on-line and I did. I brought the part back to Rich a week later and he put it in for free. Go to this Milex if you have doubts or questions on your car repair.
