A couple months ago I was looking for a car. Friendly Kia was my closest Kia dealer and after hearing positive things I went there. I was looking at a Kia Soul ! I had already gone thru the process online, texted with an assoc. on what my down payment would need to be etc. she set up an appointment for me to come in test drive etc. when I was to get there I was to ask for a particular sales person(as they would be briefed on everything I had already discussed) so I showed up at my appointment, requested the specific sales rep I wAs supposed to, a couple minutes later he comes out, says Im busy but so and so can help you, I tell him ok thats fine, new rep has no idea about anything Ive discussed my pre approvals anything, but he takes me on my test drive asks me if I want the car I said ok lets start the paperwork. We sit down at the desk and he starts a brand new application. I stop him explain again that I have already went thru this process, you guys have already run my credit, I have all the messages from earlier when I was talking with the other rep. He tells me oh that wont work its from a week ago. I need to do this all again. I say ok fine, give him all my info(get the alert from the credit beureau that my credit has been checked again) and we wait. He goes up to talk to the people at the desk and he says we cant sell you the car, you arent approved for this ammount. So I asked him why based on my previous conversation the 26,000+ ttt was fine with the down payment. Turns out that car was more than that. He said I didnt qualify for pretty much any of the discounts that the car is listed with. They wanted to charge me over 30,000 for a Kia Soul. So I said no thank you and left. After all that hassle and experience I decided then I would get approved by self thru my bank for a car loan. I had everything set up. All my paperwork, my pay stubs, my loan documents etc. so that whenever I found a car I wanted a dealership would pretty much just have to fax in the paperwork. As Im car shopping online I find a 2016 Ford Fusion titanium in brown for 20,000 or so, I decide despite my previous experience Ill give friendly Kia another chance, I go test drive the car. Make them an offer on it.sales rep requests my Lon paperwork I hand it over. He takes it up to the front desk. Comes back a few months later and says oh there is a issue with the computers we cant contact the loan company but its only temporary we will be able to tomorrow leave me the paperwork, and Ill call you tomorrow to pick up the car. When I didnt hear anything by 5 the next day I called the rep and he said I tried calling earlier but I never reached you so I left a message, I explained I dont have any missed calls or anything but said no big deal did you contact the company, he said no, still having problems, he said tomorrow for sure. He called next day and said Im sorry the loan wasnt approved(this boggled my mind as I was approved for more than enough) I asked him if the loan company said why he said he didnt know. I apologized then and told him I would be down for my paperwork. After picking it up I called the company to see why it was declined. Turns out friendly Kia didnt even submit the car to them, they never got anything from them.

My partner and I went to Friendly Kia with a vehicle already researched and picked out. Upon arrival, we explained what vehicle we were interested in. Our salesman was short on words and even shorter with his interactions with us. He breezed through the features of the vehicle with us, in a robotic nature, not connecting with us at all. No eye contact. The test drive was a silent ride, with us asking questions about the car and its stability, with out salesman giving us one word answers. This is when my partner and I became suspicious of all around disposition of the salesman. Upon sitting down at the desk, the usual conversation of money down happened. Our salesman worked on numbers, but was only present with us for a few minutes at a time. We could see him talking to other salesman, other customers and just not being attentive to us. We were told it was a done deal, a lienholder accepted us, we had our insurance switched over to the new vehicle, had the policy faxed over. We were told the car was sent over for detail and a wash. The keys sat in front of us. And then, nothing happened. We sat for an hour or two, waiting. Our salesman would swing by every once in a while and tell us they were finalizing the paperwork, While sitting, we felt we were on display as every employee walked by us, sneaking a glimpse of us through the glass walls, looking away if we made eye contact. Something felt very wrong and very uncomfortable. And then our salesman decided to sit with us and tell us "its not going to work out. Sorry guys." And then gestured us towards the door. We asked the why and what happened, but the answers were non conclusive and sketchy. So we left dumbfounded and confused. Disappointed is the real feeling we had. So you tell us the car is ours, have us sign papers, switch the insurance.... then have us sit for 2 hours to tell us its not going to work. If it was a financial situation, why wouldnt you offer us a older car with more miles that would work with our credit? Why wouldnt you explain, in detail why you couldnt help us? Our conclusion, Friendly Kia is not gay friendly. First time in our lives, we felt discriminated against. Reading reviews about how helpful and attentive this facility is with its customers, was false. We did not feel supported by our salesman or feel the friendly part of it. Sad thing is, we really liked the car.

About a month ago I contacted Friendly Kia about a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe. I spoke with Chrystal Chenney and she was very helpful. Within a few hours of our conversation she informed me the vehicle had since been sold and suggested others on their lot. I spent the next month looking for the right Santa Fe with the right deal. I drove hundreds of miles to different dealers only to have the advertised deal change or play the back and forth game between the salesman and manager. I have very little free time so needless to say I was quite put out. Car buying can be worse than a root canal. Tuesday morning while looking on the internet again, Friendly Kia popped up with what appeared to be the "right" vehicle at the "right" price. So I called Chrystal again to check availability and was told the vehicle was still there. I asked Chrystal to get the firm no games out the door price and if we could come to terms I would give a deposit over the phone because again I would not be able to come in for 2 days as they are 1 hour away and my work schedule got in the way. We agreed on the price but they have a policy against phone deposits. Thinking I might lose out again, I called Chrystal back and asked what we could do to make this happen. She spoke with her manager Brian Correa and told me he would call me. When he called he again explained about the deposit over the phone policy and said if I wanted the Santa Fe to fill out a credit app and send copies of drivers license and insurance and he would start the paper work. Within a short time he called and said we had an approval and told me what other documents he needed. We spoke early Wednesday morning and he said he had everything he needed and I told him I would come in on Thursday Night to complete the deal. He said rather than me having to come in he would have Darnell Washington deliver the car to me and bring all the paperwork to sign and take my old trade-in back. I have never had such a pleasant and easy buying experience. The car is beautiful, the deal is what they said it would be and the customer service of Chrystal, Brian, and Darnell was exceptional. It is nice doing business with a family owned dealership. Mr Gilliss, you have a first rate team. Thank you Chrystal, Brian, and Darnell for making this happen.
