Be very careful when renting from Public Storage. I wont necessarily attribute my issues this to this particular location as it could happen at any PS location but their business practices are suspect. I rented a large unit at this location a few months ago. My only problem with the location is that whenever it rains the driveways flood a lot. Not in the units but its like a lake out there. My real problem they just sent me a notice that my rent is being raised...BY 30%!!. The office couldnt help me but gave me the main customer service number who firmly said "its non negotiable" and I was lucky because some units were raised by as much as 45%. Funny too, I looked online and if I was shopping for my same size unit and the same facility I would get it for a little higher then I am paying now, but not near what they are going to charge me. SO BEWARE OF THE BAIT AND SWITCH POLICY THIS COMPANY NOW SEEMS TO HAVE!!! They figure once your all moved in and it will of course be an expense and pain to move again, they hit you with a big rate increase. Very unethical. You will note a lot of positive reviews for PS at this facility and I too left a positive review after moving in. The staff here is very nice and helpful and I cant hold them responsible for the deceptive business practices of the company but I also cant let this kind of thing get by without warning others.

Please for your own sake do not use this facility for your own good. If you pay a little late, they will cut your lock and go shopping in your unit. I will pursue this legally and make this a personal campaign. I have filed a police report with Broward county and will pursue this. I can see from the bbb rating at public storage that all the way up to the Chairman of the Board Mr Havner himself does not care about customer service. When you notice a theft they look at you like you are just trying to file a fake insurance claim. I had a fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment with a large kitchen all my kitchen , some dining room and bedroom They did not even leave me 1 glass or 1 coffee cup. I still have to unpack some boxes, I just pray to GOD, that I still have some items that are irreplaceable, like the duplicate crosses from my parents funeral. I know whoever had access to the master key to the lock on my unit, they placed on when they cut mine is the theif with no moral ethics. Mr Havner(CEO PUBLIC STORAGE) do you have any 200 or more unanswered bbb complaints online, I also hold you responsible, based on you companies practices. Maybe Senator Rockerfellers committee should be looking into Public Storage. I will see if any one from management bothers to call or even cares. FYI, the insurance company does not cover employee theft, which they make you buy.

** also please note that all these positive reviews are right around the same time and sound similar. Hint, maybe its public storage trying to cover up all their terrible reviews???** DO NOT RENT HERE!!! Someone broke into my storage unit, took all of my belongings and Im willing to bet money it was someone who works there because: they replaced my lock with one of Public Storages. They are supposed to call you when your lock is missing and record it when the replace it. They didnt do any of those things so by the time I came back to add some more belongings, it had been about a month since the last time I had been there so this couldve happened at any point. DO NOT RENT, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Even if you buy insurance, police told me that the insurance will fight you on it because there was technically a lock on the door when you came back. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! Save yourself the heartache, its a horrendous experience losing basically everything you own. Just to follow up: Now Ive been trying to close out the unit, as I had to move suddenly across the country. I literally have called this place every day for over a week, left messages, and never got a hold of ANYONE. I had to have a friend go in personally, and help take care of closing it out. This place is an absolute joke of a professional business. Ridiculous.

I reserved online and was able to complete the transaction and get into my unit in under 20 minutes. The lady helping me was great at explaining everything I needed to know and showed me some shortcuts to make the move-in process easier. I was bummed that first first month wasnt actually only $1, but they do have a * behind it to let you know that it only applies to certain units. Not a huge fan of bait and switch like that, but that is a corporate marketing issue and not related to this particular branch. I felt like I was duped into buying one of their round locks for $17.99, but the lock I brought was pretty crappy. Was told that lock breaking has happened in the past and that particular style of lock makes it much harder to do. Not sure if true or I was just being "sold" on a high markup item, but I bought it for my own personal reassurance. The requirement that you must have insurance wasnt advertised anywhere that I saw it. I added $3k of insurance for $11/mo. A neighbor told me that is a new Florida law, but I am not going to bother looking up whether or not that is true. Since everything in the unit is extremely personal in nature, there is no value that I can assign to it, so insurance is a waste.

This review is in regards to the outstanding customer service I received from Michel. I have been to couple public storage and I‘m not sure was it because they’re feel like public storage is already giving me a good price or they owned the store but seriously the service they gave me, the way they talk to me, it probably would be better to go somewhere else, pay that extra money to get treat it better. Long story short, when I arrived to that public storage, I didn’t have any expectation. Then Michelle took me by surprise, from the time I got there, she was all about being helpful, she took time to assist me in figure out what was my best option, she was patient with me, and pleasant to talk to. It was raining and she still drove me around to show me all the units that was best to my interest and at the end help me pick the best one that would suit my need at a good price, I would recommend to anyone whether you’re new or a customer with a bad experience to go there. Also it would be nice to Public storage corporate to train all their staffs to Michel’s standard. And in case anyone feels like I’m going to far with this, be my guest and go witness.

I had a great experience. Mark got us setup and was very helpful. He showed us the unit to make sure it was the size we needed. When we came back to put things in he happened to be outside and let us back in. Our unit is close to the back door and he was kind enough to tell us to go ahead and drive all the way around and he would open the door for us (rather than we have to stop, open it and then drive around while one of us held the door) This made it easy so we didnt have to walk a long distance back and forth to the vehicle. We changed our lock a few days later to another one but the facility called us to let us know that it was too long and the door was able to open, so they put on one of their locks in the other padlock hole in the door handle until we could come in with a better lock. I was quite happy with the fact that they not only called me to let me know, but they also secured my unit until we could come in. This lets me know that they are checking the units to make sure they are secure. So far I have no complaints. Thank you.
