I had the worst experience with this company. There is a corporate office which is really a call center and then the movers work out of franchise locations that the corporate offices have no control over. They just book appointments for them. What this means is the franchise can behave however they want and there is nothing that can be done. I saw this firsthand. I called and tried to set up an appointment for July 18, but the area was booked. So I was offered an appointment for July 17 in a 4pm-6pm arrival windows. It was after work for me, so I agreed. The local(Orlando) franchise owner, Johnny, called me up and said that was too late for his guys on a Friday afternoon and said he wouldnt do it. I mentioned that the appointment was already made and he said the call center messed up and as the manager, he can cancel any appointment. He said I could book earlier, during my work hours, or find another company. I said that was unprofessional and he said the call was going nowhere and hung up. This led to me calling the corporate/call center and explaining the situation to them. They apologized profusely and said they would get me taken care of and had a manager there call me back. A fellow named Luke called and said the local manager, Johnny, will not take appointments after 3:00 and neglected to put that note on his account. So really, it was Johnnys fault they scheduled for 4-6. Luke asked if he could schedule me for noon and said he would see about getting me a discount of 10% or more for the trouble. He called Johnny and Johnny said he would not offer a discount. Luke then called me back and apologized for how unprofessional Johnny was being. He said there is little they can do with their franchise owners other than file a client complaint form for disciplinary action. So he filled one of those out and sent me back to one of his sales guys to schedule for noon with no restitution for the hassle of all this. And when the sales guy called Johnny to make the appointment, it all of a sudden was no longer available. So I made an appointment with them, they cancelled it because they didnt like the time they agreed to, and expected me to put myself out to accommodate them. I ended up booking with American Movers Orlando. They were much nicer on the phone and had better rates too. Id recommend them and stay away from College Hunks at all costs.

I hired this company to move me in after a horrible company loaded the truck I rented and screwed me over. They were supposed to show up between 11 and 1. They called me at 12:30 and said that they would be there at 3 because they were stuck at another job. I said that it was fine. They called again at around 5 and said that they would be there at 7. They finally show up at 6:45 and start working. They attach a pad onto the garage door to protect it from damage, this was the only good part of the experience. When they finally got started after being 6 hours late, they proceeded to destroy the walls of my house that I just had completely repainted that cost over $3500 to have done. I was unaware of this damage until they told me about it. One of the guys there came and got me and showed me all of the damages. They also completely tore up a door frame in the process and tore up my couch. They told me that they are insured and that their office would call me and that they would pay for the damages and that they were very sorry. It took them over 5 hours to complete the job even with 3 people. The total price of the job was $500. The guys told me that their office would call me no later than 2 days after the job was complete after they looked over the pictures that I had to tell the guys to take as proof to show their bosses. They were trying to leave without taking pictures of the damages. Long story short, the office never called me. I called them after waiting 5 days for a call. When I called the manager was apparently busy at the time so I left a message. She called me back about 3 hours later just to tell me that they were not going to pay for the damages and that it was my fault that the house was damaged. After yelling at this lady for about an hour she told me to call my painter and send them a bill and they MIGHT pay for SOME of it depending on the price. Im not going to hold my breath. If you want to be disrespected by the management and have your hard earned possessions and your mortgaged house be destroyed and be blamed for it even though they were the ones who did it, call these guys. They will show up 6 hours late and start working on ruining your day and make your move even harder on you and your family.

If you think youre going to get great service at a great price do not waste your time. The guys are pretty much on their own and you dont see any of the higher ups. Two of them were clearly hung over and one actually had to leave midway through. On top of all of that, they broke my $2000 TV. It would not fit in the box properly so they decided to Jerry rig it in hopes that it would make it. Now of course he told me before that he has never broke a TV in his life and instilled just enough confidence for me to tell them to go ahead. And of course I didnt buy the extra insurance which is on me so at the end when we decide what to do about it they only offer me $500 and said that the only way they would give me that is if I actually bought the insurance retroactively. So I had to pay them an extra $150 to get the $500 they were going to offer me. Of course I said no and decided to sue them. Its been quite a few months later and I havent done it yet because of personal reasons and not having time and I still plan to but I say all this to let you guys know who youre dealing with. They were very cavalier about the whole situation and pretty much dared me to take them to court. On top of all of that I guarantee you will be surprised by the price. They tell you that theyre a lot cheaper than the big moving companies but then when the bill comes due its $400 more. And dont take that from just me look at all the other reviews. These guys are not worth it and do not waste your money. Im sure all the good reviews are from people that had just a few things that needed to be moved but if you are actually moving houses stick with the pros. Just so everyone is clear this is the one out of Orlando. Cant speak about the other ones but Im sure theyre very similar.

I wish that I could comment on the quality of their work but it never happened. My service visit time was originally scheduled for Tuesday evening. It was then pushed to Wednesday between 12 & 2 because their truck was already full. On Wednesday at 12:35, I was called and told that the truck was full and needed to be emptied but theyd be to me in 45 minutes to an hour. I received another call at 1:39 saying that they would be there at 2:30. At 2:51, the driver called me was to tell me that they couldnt get into my neighborhood because of security. They clearly did not have my address correct because my neighborhood has no security entrance. When I called the home office, the representative recited my address to me perfectly before I even described my reason for calling. So, somewhere, somebody messed up. Additionally, I didnt get a sense of professionalism from many of the people who were calling me. At that point, Id had enough and cancelled my appointment. I was looking forward to a good experience based on the reviews that I had seen from others but unfortunately I will have to go with a different service that truly is "stress-free". Update: I received another call after I cancelled (at 3:22) that the drivers would now be to me by 4:00. So not only is the time continuing to be pushed back but the drivers dont even know that the job has been cancelled. There is a lack of communication somewhere.
