7/25/2017 This is an upgrade from my prior review**. Mike Lavoie, Operations Manager, came over to my residence to check on my bidet. I sincerely appreciate this gesture because it shows the company cares for what customers think. And of course, clients stay away from companies with poor reviews. Luckily for both of us, my (seat) bidet is fixed, and has been working well for more than a week. For some reason or another all I had to do was push the seat firmly and snuggly towards the back. I also showed Mike that my toilet tank is not EVEN LEAKING, contrary to what was originally suggested to me. Anyway, it appears that when I called I should have specifically stated SEAT bidet, not just bidet. BF does work on and knows how to repair STAND ALONE bidets. Mike offered to refund the $39, which I said I didnt really mind paying since his peopje did come over for a service call. Mike then stated he will credit me $39 and (% I do not want to disclose since it is not written) discount for future plumbing calls. Well, I truly appreciate this other gesture. I hope I dont get any plumbing problems in the future, but if I do, I will definitely call on BF Plumbing. Review rating at that time (hope not anytime soon) will be provided. **I called this company as the business is within my city and I wanted to patronize local businesses. I specifically requested for someone who is knowledgeable about bidet. I stated to the customer service representative who took my call that my toilet is leaking and its coming from the bidet. The plumbing technicians (I trainer and 1 trainee) were punctual and arrived even 5 minutes before the appointed time. They were respectful and immediately put on their shoe gloves as they went inside the house. I showed Randy the toilet and he checked it and confirmed what I had stated before - the bidet unit is leaking. However, he said that I have to call the company as they have no way of fixing the leak. This would have been fine except that he firmly, but respectfully, said that the actual leak is coming from the tank and that I have to change the inside unit. I also FIRMLY stated that the tank is NOT leaking. It is the bidet and since I cannot use the bidet to just turn the bidet and water flow off, which he graciously did. I was charged the $39 for the visit but for something I already knew and even after I requested for someone who knows bidets and how to fix its leak. This issue would not have bothered me much EXCEPT for the fact that a problem was being injected, probably so that a repair issue could be charged. I am a senior citizen but I am not stupid. This is one reason why so many homeowners are wary of repairmen - there are so VERY, VERY FEW who are honest, ethical and full of integrity. So sad.

This is really a good company to count with. How do I feel after my experience with this company? Well, happier than happy, satisfied knowing that one of the best plumbing companies in Orlando and Central Florida took good care of my pluming issues. I called on a Friday evening for a diagnostic on an old plumbing issue I had since I bought my house more than 10 years ago. The technician Jeremy showed up Saturday morning on time, he listened to all my explanations, then he drove me through my problems, direct and accurately. He found the issue, offered a solution, came back during the week, executed what he proposed and got the job done. He and his helper Clay worked really hard to make sure that everything comes out perfect, the way that I was expecting. The job was inspected by the County Building Department and passed with no problems. When the inspector saw the job he told me: This is the reason why Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is one of the best companies in town. I responded "That is why I called them" and we laughed. I own an Air Conditioning Company myself here in Orlando and I know how important is to serve and to serve well, to get the job done right the first time and to be on time every time, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Jeremy has all those qualities. Jeremy represented Benjamin Franklin Plumbing exactly the same way that I represent my company every time I serve my customers. In the service industry this is what makes the difference. I am happy, really happy, so to the people that at this very moment are reading this review and are looking for a good, honest and reliable company to trust your pluming needs, please, look no further. You found the company already. That company is BENJAMIN FRANKLIN PLUMING.

Our drain line clogs every 7-12 months because of the age and quality of the pipes, so we have to routinely get the line cleared. The first time we used Ben Franklin for this they did a great job and charged a fair price. However, our second experience with them was frankly unacceptable. The plumber tried to insist on doing all sorts of other expensive work before unclogging the drain and had a bad attitude when I insisted we didnt want or need to mess around with the septic tank. After my first encounter with him I jokingly told my wife to get ready to get reamed on the bill because he had an attitude, but unfortunately the joke was on me. Not including the trip charge we were billed $312 dollars for a 15 minute drain line unclogging. Thats higher than the average price for that service, but whats really aggravating about it is that 9 months prior we were only charged $99 for the exact same service by the company. This was a price gouge because the employee had an attitude, plain and simple. It took us a few days to get ahold of the billing department only to be told that the price difference was due to being given a discount on the first trip, but honestly I dont buy it. They are supposedly sending us a $46 refund, but we will still NEVER call this company again because of this situation. I strongly recommend against using Ben Franklin for your plumbing needs, unless you want to roll the dice on getting a rude plumber that will overcharge you.

Very simple- they were supposed to show up at my house between 4-8, they hadnt showed up, so I called to find out where they were. The woman who answered couldnt track anyone down to find out, so they rescheduled for first thing in the morning and said I would be credited with their on time $ guarantee of $300 ($5/minute up to $300). The next morning she explained that someone had actually showed up, called me and got no answer so they would not give me the $. Pretty simple... I sat and waited for them in the 4 hour window and there was no missed call in my call log on my cell phone, no voicemail was left yet they say they were there. It wasnt about the money, they couldnt even admit their technician did a poor job of trying to contact me- if he tried at all. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. Stay away. There are plenty of other better priced companies that offer a better level of service.
