I am so frustrated at this point - I wish there was a negative score allowed. We had a move last year that I booked with AFM after hearing them advertised on 104.7 The Fish. We were temporarily downsizing after our home sold in 4 days and knew wed need movers. As a foster kid and military family, I have moved over 20 times in my life - this was by far the WORST experience I have EVER had with a moving company. While the guys were nice - there were only two (of four) actually working. One walked aimlessly throughout the house until the manager had to go find him at one point. The oldest of the crew sat on his cell phone for well over an hour before actually getting into the back of the truck. They broke dishes, put gashes in my kitchen table, DROPPED a large bookcase at the TOP of the stairs and it caused it to break into half a dozen pieces AND $150 in damage to sheet-rock and we had to repaint before the new owners came - ALL OF THAT ASIDE - we realize stuff happens in a move. I filed my claim, and NEVER heard back. I called up there and was put on hold several times by a young lady that clearly didnt want to talk to me. After MULTIPLE "disconnections" over several months I gave up and contacted the owner on Facebook. That TOO has gone unreturned. Im tempted to file small claims - ALL of this could have been avoided with a SHRED of communication and customer service. I would hope "The Fish" would screen its advertisers a little better in the future. *EDIT* Since this is the only way to address the owner response below - I would like to address the incorrect information you have. 1) "In fact, we never heard back from you in regards to your claim after we sent the claim form, nor did you ever send me a Facebook message ever." I am happy to provide the screen shot of my message to Aaron Polk (you are correct - if he is NOT the owner, then I did send in error, however I did send it). Facebook timestamp says it was read on 4/15/2016. I have NEVER been contacted by AFM - and was "disconnected" when I did call. I also have email documentation of sending in pictures to go along with my claim form - happy to send those to you - time and date stamped last year. I also mailed my claim information to your office. 2) "Nonetheless, it looks like we did DISCOUNT your move considerably" - The ONLY discount I received over my quoted rate was $75 as a "courtesy credit" as mentioned in my original message to Aaron. It was explained to me at that time the credit was for the inconvenience and added time caused by the negligence and damages - NOT in lieu of the costs to replace or repair. 3)"But please do not bash a small business online and expect some sort of gain. If you would truly like to resolve matters, then I extend the invitation for you to contact me directly." You have provided no contact information or name for me to do so. However, my phone number is still the same as it has been for the last 15 years and the moving documentation. Ill happily provide you a litany of documentation substantiating my comments above. You must understand - I have contacted via phone MULTIPLE times and reached out on social media to attempt to resolve this over the last 6 months or more. The "bashing" you are claiming is the truthful representation of my experience with you company. Please provide me with a direct line or name or contact me directly with my information from the move statement. Please.

Brief: Added a fourth person to the crew at my expense but not at my request. Only handled my furniture and large items. Refused to handle the rest of my belongings which were either in moving boxes or storage totes, stating they had another job to get to and would have me call and schedule a second run. I offered to host lunch to the crew and was refused initially but later accepted since the lunch place was next door to the storage unit. During lunch they discovered a flat tire which added 45 minutes to the lunch. When I was told I would be paying for the 1 hour lunch break, I explained that we spent 45 of those minutes fixing the tire and that they could at least meet me halfway! They said that was okay but the bill did not reflect the change. Of the few items that were not already boxed up or stored, one of them was an antique board game which was accidentally dropped as they moved it out of the way to move the furniture. Parts and pieces were scattered across the storage unit floor. Rather than picking up the pieces or letting me know there was an accident, they carried on right on top of the game, breaking and damaging parts. When I discovered the mess, I said something and the one guy stopped to sweep up the debris and dirt on the floor into a garbage bag for me... I guess it was their opinion that my antique board game was now trash? When we got to my house, they unloaded the truck in less than 30 minutes. While they were courteous enough to explain they do not normally swap out refrigerators but they did it anyway, I assumed they would assemble my bed but instead they left it for me to assemble. I chose to hire a mover because my arm was recovering from an operation and I had 18 stitches and a cast on it. If I could have moved myself I would have! As it was, I still ended up moving most of my belongings myself! They got all the big items including a 1980 pinball machine to the house. The owner has emailed and texted my wife twice each, requesting that we review their company. Each time, my wife has responded, saying "Please call me or my husband!" but we have received no phone call. So here is the review you seek! I cannot in good faith give this company one star because they did try. They were a little helpful. All the movers were dressed appropriately and did not use foul language. The one guy I saw smoking excused himself and walked far enough away to not bother us. At the same time, this experience was far from five stars. When I hired movers, I expected my belongings to transition from the storage unit to the house for me. Instead my wife ended up doing most of the moving. She earned the five stars, not this moving company.

We got quotes from three moving companies - two national companies and one local company. Atlanta Furniture Taxi worked the hardest to get our business and made us a fair offer. The communication was good all through the moving process. I liked that Daniel, who came to do our estimate and become familiar with our house and household goods, was also involved in every step of our move. Usually you have one person who markets and then a different group of people who show up for the actual move. Seven guys came to our house with two 26 trucks. Each team member came in to introduce himself and shake our hands. The team work so quickly and efficiently! Our goods were loaded and on the way to our new location 266 miles away) earlier than we expected. The next day Daniel called to give us an eta and to assure us he had an eye on the forecast of rainy weather. There were five team members for our unload and it was great. This guys strive to offer the best in customer service and satisfaction. Thank you, Aaron, for proving to us that you cared about our move!
