This was our second time using Fox Movers as we used them 18 months ago to move my business to a storage location. That first experience was outstanding, but this second experience was disappointing and even more so after visiting our storage unit today. The job was two-fold. Move approx. half of our belongings from our house in Buford to a new apartment in Buckhead and take the other 50% of the belongings to a climate controlled storage unit. These items would be picked up in a year after we purchased our new home. On the plus side, the crew was extremely friendly and respectful even all the way through to the finish of the job at 1am. Thats pretty much all I can say positive. Beyond that, it looks like our stuff was manhandled with little care or regard for protecting it. First off, we were promised a crew of six, 3 men per truck for two trucks. But about 1 hour into the move, one crewman said the owner of the company was coming to pull him onto another job. We have now moved four times with professional movers and have never experienced so many crushed boxes. Its clear they were piling heavy boxes on top of lighter boxes throughout the day. I estimate over 30 - 40% of the boxes are crushed in some way. These were predominately brand new Home Depot moving boxes. I thought putting the Fragile Stickers on the boxes would help to make the crew more careful but the most damaged box was a one-of-a-kind Christmas dish from my mother. Luckily the cookie dish was not damaged as it was packed well. We experienced more damage on this move than any other, including drawers broken off both of our solid wood desks. The foreman insisted he didnt break the drawer on my wifes desk that came to our new apartment, but the drawer was broken when it arrived. Upon inspecting our storage unit today, we found another broken drawer so both desks are now damaged. There are other damaged items that just look like they were carelessly handled either on the truck or on the way here. Items that were supposed to come to the apartment were left in storage even though everything was clearly labeled and marked. Upon visiting the storage unit today we found a disaster. It literally looks like everything was haphazardly thrown in with no regard to the items and space. We found broken containers, items that had fallen out of containers, items falling on top of each other. Nothing stacked like it would be on a truck. I have a custom Christmas Display that ive been adding on to since 1993. Its all flat plywood. It should simply be stacked along the wall. Instead pieces are laying across multiple boxes with other boxes piled on top. I am literally going to hire another crew to come to the storage unit next week to empty it out so we can inspect everything for damage and then have them re-pack the unit correctly so nothing will get further damaged. This morning I realized the crew foreman overcharged me. He only removed 30 minutes for lunch. Lunch was 60 minutes and I know because I drove the foreman to get the lunch and it took us 30 minutes just to go out and get it. Then the foreman was supposed to remove another 30 minutes because there was something wrong with the Penske truck when they were headed to Buckhead, so 90 minutes total should have be removed from my time. Overall a very disappointing experience and night and day treatment from what we got from the first crew. This crew was very nice but really didnt seem to care how they were handling our materials. Ive recommend Fox Movers to everyone I know for the past 18 months but no more. Definitely consider another company for your next move.

I hired fox to move my 2 bd/2bth and a 10x8 storage. I explained all items giving a list and advising of stairs and ling hallways. I was quoted with 3 men and a truck. I then decided to go with 4 men and a truck at $159hr. The movers called and showed up on time. It took them 30 minutes to load the storage and they crossed to the street to my 1st floor apartment and begin to load my apartment. I noticed the younger guys in their cell phones and sometimes jist carrying one lamp to the truck at a time. The supervisor advised to hurry and lets pack. It took 5 men 4.5 hrs to load the truck. It took them 1hr to get from Buford Highway/Cheshire Bridge to Fairburn with clear traffic in a Thursday. I called when the hour had passes to express my confusion with what was taking so long. They advised they were almost at my home in Fairburn. While unloading the truck they begun to get exhausted as the move was mostly stairs. Everything was carried upstairs one box at a time. Although all boxes were packed and labeled before they ever arrive and were set in groups according to what room they would go into at the move. I witnessed them dragging my dining room table down my driveway and also I was missing a chair. After inquiring about the missing dining chair for several minutes no one had an answer to where the chair was located. I requested to see the back of the truck and the chair was broke from being shoved. Begun to look at all furniture at that time when I noticed the table missing a chunk and my couch was rubbed to the cotton and plastic it was wrapped in. The sofa was brand new out of storage. I also noticed several boxes bent accordion style. I checked my fragile boxes and had 3 plates broken, 2 glasses, and a cracked glass tea kettle. I informed the supervisor and he reported the table and chair and couch. Did not report the broken dishes. Aftering leaving my home I moved the couch to find the arm broken at the back of the sofa. I called to report that as well. Preston the operations manager explained they knew of the table and chairs and couch but had a stict policy on storage moves. Thats when I got angry because my entire storage was new. I was advised by the manager Lisa they would resolve the issue as best as they could if I would fill out a claim form which she was emailing me, I never received the email. Now Im in limbo as they have taken my dining chair and table and Im waiting to hear about the other items. This company is not recommended at all for service. They are not trained professionals and I was sent 2 new movers. I tipped $200 prior to finding all the issues and my moving cost was 995 for a 6 he move on a 2bd/2bth and 10x8 storage with 5 men. This should have been a 4 hour move tops!!!!!

A lot of bad & terrible stuff happened during this move. First the movers arrived 4.5hr late of scheduled start time. It took 4 movers greater than 12 hours to move ("not pack") a 3 bdr house. I stress "not pack" because prior to the movers arriving I had placed 95% of all my boxed items in my dining room which was only 2 ft from the front door. I had also placed several large pieces of furniture along with some appliances and a large TV which was purchased new and still boxed all in this same area. My new house was less than 2 miles from the move house. So while waiting on the movers to arrive, and during the entire day I made several moves in my personal vehicles carrying gardening tools (my lawnmower), kitchen items (boxed panty & cold foods), packed luggage and clothes, and delicate decorative items. I myself, made more than 10 moves in my own vehicles, carrying items attempting to expedite the move and make up the 4.5hr late start. However, at approximately 1:30AM the head moving guy came to me and said his boss wanted to collect payment now. I asked him how could he determine payment as they still had about 3-4 hrs of work remaining, and that was my best guest based how they had progressed through the day. Both trucks had not been emptied yet. Much of the bedroom furniture was not in the house. Many boxes still had to be placed in the proper rooms. My master bed had not yet been put together. The washer/dryer had not yet been hooked up. I asked to speak to his boss and attempting to detail all my displeasure with them move he cut me off. He no interest in listening to a customer who after working tirelessly for more than 14hrs complain at 1:30AM for his companys late start, and him wanting payment effectively ending the job. After failing to resolve the issue he told the movers place all the remaining furniture and boxes in my garage and leave. They left at approximately 2AM. The majority of my furniture was still wrapped in plastics, blankets, and tape. Not only did they leave me and my wife to complete our move, place our furniture, and put together our beds. but also to remove and discard all the packaging materials used and left behind. Needless to say this was one of the worst experiences I have dealing with a service business in my life. There were more issues, but I hold comment as you can guess where Im headed next to resolve.
