Every since I bought my CRV Ive had it serviced at the Union City Pep Boys. Last June I had my oil changed and had major issues. I told them I only wanted an oil change. They told me my tail light was out. I told them Id by the light and replace it. They told me my air filter was dirty...same thing. Ill buy it and put it in. I didnt have money to pay. The manager there told me no problem there isnt a charge. When they told me then my cabin filter needed changed he said the same thing. Well when it came time to pay there was a major issue. They were telling me I had to pay for everything they installed that I signed for it to be done. I showed them where I didnt and had made the note for Only the oil change. It took arguing and telling them that I wasnt a stupid woman for them to treat the way they were treating me. I paid for the parts and the oil change. I told them I would never set foot in there again. HERE IS MY ISSUE>>>>Ive tried 3 times to have my oil changed since then. My son-in-law just left NTB tires after they told him the same thing. They WON"T touch my vehicle because my filter and plug are screwed in too tight and they are afraid of damaging my car. WalMart said the same thing as did a friend. Is this how your company operates? My husband and I have bought tires, had cars serviced and everything there and now my vehicles engine is going to be damaged because I cant get my oil changed. I sure dont want to take it to Pep Boys because if they are going to do that out of spite for treating me badly and me calling them out on it, then what are they going to now? This is bad.

My experience at Pep Boys was, in a word, diappointing. I took my car to be serviced on two issues: overheating of the engine and vibrations of the front end that could be felt in the steering wheel. I left my vehicle with Pep Boys to be diagnosed and was later called and given the results. I was told that the overheating could be addressed easily and that the cost would be around $269 but that addressing the vibrations would cost $1320 - for new tire rods. I opted not to have the vibrations addressed but authorized the work on the engine. To my suprise, when I went to pick up my vehicle, the clerk said..."your total is $578." WHAT? I then said "thats not what I was quoted on the phone." She called for the person that had given me the figure over the phone so that he could speak with me about my suprise. He tried to convice me that he gave me the $578 price quote over the phone. I know this not to be true, because I ended our phone conversation with the question: "Now what is this going to cost me?" Just so that I could be sure that he understood that I was not interested in the $1320 job at this point. To which he replied "$278." I dont necessarily doubt that the work was valued at that amount, but I was served poorly by the technician in that he did not do a good job of communicating to me what the estimated cost of the work would actually be. My take-away from this experience is to NEVER have work done on your vehicle without something quoted in writing...or else record the phone conversation.

Why else would you take your car to the shop but to get it looked at or fix.. my truck runs hot but I never let it over heat.. So I take it to pep boys in Union City and I tried to tell the lady that theres no leak no signs of anything but the truck runs hot.. she insistent that its a over heating issue.. I beg the differ with her but she again insistent that theyll check the coolant, radiator etc.. etc... Three days later they said they cant go no further cause I put stop leak in it and it must have fix the problem cause theres no leak... I told the guy I tried to tell the lady that but she wouldnt listen... OK heres the issue... By me telling her theres no signs of a leak everything seems to be normal if she wouldve listen they wouldnt wasted 3 days looking at something I already told them there was nothing wrong with.. They couldve also possibly check the fan, condenser or anything.. Even after checking the radiator, coolant thermostat etc.. they couldve looked for something else.. my issue is I wouldnt bought my car their is there wasnt a issue.. the issue is the running hot and its no visible leak... Soon as I got in the truck and started it up 20 minutes later the temp its at 230 with no leak

This Pep Boys is pretty hit or miss when it comes to the staff and service. They are generally pretty unprofessional and the manager (Steve) leaves a LOT to be desired! I have made more complaints to him about how his employees treat the customers and each other -- in front of the customers. His **blank stares** indicate that he is tired of hearing the complaints or that he is completely uninterested! The one and ONLY truly redeeming quality they have is Courtney G. She is nothing but pure joy to the customers and really the only reason we continue to patronize this store for our oil changes!! We will only go if she is working and will only deal with her because we KNOW what we are going to get - GREAT SERVICE!! She goes above and beyond to make the customers feel welcome and appreciated! In the 10+ years we have been having our cars serviced there, weve seen managers and employees come and go! Courtney is the constant we look for!! If I were only reviewing HER my rating would be FIVE STARS!! Peace!

destroyed my car : I went in for a wheel alignment 11/10/2014 its 1/7/2015 an my tiers they had me to buy so they can do the job are no good now , and as I drive my steering wheel jerks hard to the right an locks until I mash the breaks and then the car jumps off really hard to the right or left an I say that because I never know witch way its goin to go and it pulls horrible wile driving, I was coming around a curb in union city an my wheel just turned an I almost killed a girl an her two kids so now I dont drive it til I find someone else to fix it I hike a ride to work, my co-workers warned me about that place.....store Id# 0204.....mechanics W.Smith & S.Baldwin and pepboys are responsible if I absolutely must drive that car for an emergency before I save up to get it fix properly and I or anyone else is seriously injured or death....at one time pepboys was a name people stood behind an trusted , not any more ! $ 236.61 to be in the cold an I have a car

Made a appointment online for a oil change and get to the shop no oil change appointment exist is their system. Steve(I guess he is the so called manager) proceeds to do a oil change anyway. When he cracks up the car he says that my car is making a ticking sound, sound like my oil is low. Didnt know you can predict the oil level by cranking up the car. Little do he know I know more about cars than the average woman so I continue to play stupid. He takes my car in the garage and then tell me its a oil leak have you noticed it? At this point Im very irritated and just want to get my car out this shady shop. Took my car home, sat it in the drive way and no oil leaked. Wont be back!
