I found this little gem years ago when I had my Subaru. I was in a panic because my all wheel drive system wasnt functioning properly making the car nearly impossible to handle on dry pavement. With a snow storm coming later in the day, I had to get the car repaired immediately. I took it to the Subaru dealer in Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg. They called me an hour later to say that the car needed nearly $1,600 in repairs. After I picked my jaw up off of the ground, I told them I would come get my car to get a second opinion. Nervous about being taken advantage of as a female attempting to get my car repaired, I began looking online for another repair shop. I called several places before calling Francen & Son and speaking to their office manager, Susie. She made me feel comfortable and safe right away. She gave me her word that no one would take advantage of me or be dishonest in any way. After inspecting my Subaru, Kevin came out to tell me the repair would not exceed $400! He did ask me to promise to spend some of the money I saved on the repair to get new tires somewhere. The malfunctioning all wheel drive had damaged the tires. That was more than 10 years ago. I have taken both my personal and professional vehicles here and sent countless people there for repairs. I have learned from experience throughout the years that not only was Susie a person of her word, but the brothers that own and operate the shop have a strong value system and would never consider misleading anyone for any reason. Everyone that has visited Francen & Son reports the same thing - We will never go anywhere else for car repairs...ever! If you are looking for talented, honest repair shop that treats you like family, look no further than the team at Francen & Son!

During this time, Francen and Son has continued to show exceptional customer focus in dealing with all of my car repair needs. One always hopes to find a mechanic with integrity. The Management and staff of Francen and Son has gone well above this desire. Not only does Francen and Son perform exceptional repair services at reasonable prices, they have established a partnership with me, the customer. There is always clear discussion about the nature of needed repairs. Options are always given which represent the best balance of cost sensitivity and the well-being of my car now and in the future. When my car has been repaired at Francen and Son, I know that my car has been given the best possible care at a fraction of the cost if I sought these same services anywhere else. This is one of the best European cars mechanic shops in Chicagoland area. They are customer friendly, honest mechanics I have ever seen in my life. They only recommend what is needed for the vehicle. They really worked with me to keep me informed, keep the costs reasonable, and get the job done right. I always take my 2008 Range Rover HSE, 2008 Porche Cayanne and BMW to this place. They are at least 30-40 cheaper than the dealers. When I took my Range Rover HSE to the dealer for suspension issues, the dealer quoted $3,000 plus, then I took it to one of the reputed Mechanic shops in Stream wood area in Illinois, they suggested to replace both the front struts for $2,400. Finally I took it to Francen and Son, Kevin, the owner suggested to replace only one strut , it was under warranty, I ended up paying $375. I can give many examples like this. Kevin Sr, is the owner, he is very customer friendly, he always tries to help his customers.

In my opinion Francen & Son takes the fear out of owning high-end cars. They can address issues at a repairable level if applicable, rather than just replace the issue with new parts. We have all experienced dealership shops that train their techs to replace parts rather than potentially fixing the part. Francen address the first issue before total replacement. They are budget minded towards their clients as well as the best solution to vehicle longevity. They take their time explaining all issues and prioritize budget mined repairs at clients request. That being said, Francen & Son will not let anybody drive off the their facility unless you are 1000% satisfied!! Anyway thats my experience with them. Thanks again, Vito J. Botta

I have been using Francen for many years and would not hesitate referring others. I have never been disappointed with repairs and their explanations . From my perspective the mark of a very good and trustworthy repair service is when the tech or techs can fully explain a problem, or when they do not see a need for repair, or simply cannot diagnose a problem . That shows a lot of confidence and displays at lot of good faith . I heard about Francen from the discontinued Car Talk show . 3/17/2017 Brought a potential used car from a dealership for an independant inspection last week . My confidence in their inspection was the most important factor in deciding to purchase . They thoroughly explained any hesitations I had .

this is my second visit to Francen and Son. Im very happy with the work theyve done on my 91 Vanagon, The whole staff is very professional with a near obsessive attention to detail, and desire to get it right the first time. Mostly, Kevin works on my 26 year old van. It of course, always has multiple issues, so he prioritizes , and works with me to get the most value for time spent, doesnt mind using my parts and advises on the best course of action for the future. Kevin is as concerned with his customers as he is with their cars. He takes time to get to know you and advises accordingly. I can recommend Francen and Son confidently and without reservation. Im glad I found them.

First went to Francen & Son with a Saab 9-5, because I saw they worked on imports and was tired of the ridiculous costs from the dealer. Immediately, I was impressed with their quality of work, turnaround time, and the reasonable charges. Weve been using them now for the past six years, for all of our cars, and cant say enough good things about them. Every time a repair is needed, the cost always ends up being either at or below what we are quoted. The work is done quickly and Kevin is always doing what is in the interest of his customer. This is easily the best repair shop I have ever worked with. A great group of people all the way through. Highly, highly recommend them.

Francen & Son always provides great service. They insure that you understand the ultimate problem and offer the best option for you. They wont use cheap parts unless you insist on it. They warm of the dangers of using some generic parts and know when they are adequate quality versus substandard quality. My cars are used by my children and I always want to make certain the car is in the best possible mechanical shape. With Francen and Sons, I can count on the vehicles being safe for my teenage kids.
