Our need for storage came up suddenly because we decided to move a parent in with us for a health situation. This meant vacate her apartment and make room for some her furnishings, store the rest and store some of our stuff. I had no experience in renting storage space. I went on line, looked at a dozens of possibilities from the online lists, read many reviews, did a spreadsheet for comparisons and created a short list to visit on a Friday. I was pleasantly surprised at the welcome and professionalism of the first four I visited. I won’t review them because I did not rent there. All of them had the “online price and deal” that was better than the “walk-in price” so that I was going to complete my list and make the reservation online. Then I visited Global. I did not have an “online price” on the spreadsheet but the price was competitive with the other “online” prices without the need to go online to sign up. Global also offered, “climate controlled” for only $5 more that was still less than some others on my short list. He gave us the tour of the units, gave us all the specials that were offered online, explained the use of the free move in truck and signed us up. It became a “no brainer” quickly. I now had immediate access to the best location of the units for us and I was done. I visited my space the next day and stored stuff when I thought I would have to wait until at least the following week to get started. Time is important because she needs extra care that we feel we need to control plus the care is costing a couple $1,000 on top of $3,000 rent. So far we are delighted with everything about Global.

Cant update your credit card information over the phone with them. They want you to come by the unit. Tried to update online and it wont accept by phone etc. I travel and dont have time to drive over just to give them my information. When you call locally you always get pushed to the national number. Left messages without being returned on the local until I called the national and they asked him to call. Also left messages via email, again not returned until I called national. But I got lots and lots of automated emails about my credit card needing updating though. Those came through on a regular basis.

I am extremely disappointed at the monthly amount the storage unit has gone up every year.! Every year I get a letter stating that the rate will increase dramatically. Also, I mentioned to the management several years ago that the weather stripping around my unit was damaged and they told me nothing would be done because Global Self Storage was being purchased by another company. Still hasnt gotten fixed. The last three winters I have had a big problem with mice getting into my unit because of it.

I stored my boat at this location for almost 8 years. Even though ownership and management changed a couple times I never had a bad experience. Roman is a pleasure to work with, responds very quickly to emails or phone messages, and on the 1 or 2 occasions when someone parked in my spot or blocked me in, he took care of it immediately. Only reason for leaving is I sold the boat. -- Highly recommend this storage facility and would definitely use again.

I have had a storage unit here for several years. Property is well maintained and Roman and Jim are truly wonderful to work with. Just today I had to stop by the office and was there before opening time. Roman came out to see if I needed help and invited me to come in early. That is just the kind of guy he is...very customer oriented and a pleasure to work with! Thank you to both Jim and Roman for taking great care of me - a loyal customer!
