Manager (?), Jason often offers assistance moving items for young unaccompanied women. Helpful for some, I guess. Although the place is password secured, and has (misused) surveillance, the environment still leaves one with a sense of vulnerability. Especially with only one person on duty (or none). Parking is difficult with only two spots availible, on a very crowded street. The facility is kept clean. For the most part, I spent a year there almost incident free. That said, Management definitely lacks customer service skills, and responds to complaints with hostility. So if you rent there, please, cross your fingers and hope you never have a complaint. I was left with a clear understanding that THEY were doing ME a favor by renting me a unit (given the "high demand in the area"). After an incident where I was harrassed and very much offended by the manager on duty, I called the district manager to express my feelings and to share with him the incident. He returned my call the next day asking for my "version" of what happened, responding at first with jokes, and attempts at small-talk, making my very real experience feel disregarded. He followed it with praising the manager that had offended me, and continued by flaunting his own managerial achievements/qualifications i.e. how many units, and employees, and renters he manages... and so forth. After expressing my extreme discontent, the magnitude of the insult, and even suggesting ways of improvement, the district manager was much more defensive, than sincere and apologetic. In the end he was very crass and flat out asked what I wanted from him (as if I was looking to shake him down). I was offered a discount, but what I really wanted in exchange for my business... was empathy, reassurance and resolution. That is not something that should have to be (literally) asked for. Needless to say, my business is now going elsewhere. If looking to rent, Id suggest the new "Extra Space Storage" that just opened on Devon and Ravenswood. They have WAY lower rates, on much larger units, a lot more parking, and so far... none of the arrogance. Theres also a new place on Touhy just east of McCormick, so brand new theyre not on the website yet but worth checking out.

I was about to move a couple months ago because my work changed and my income was reduced, I got a smaller unit because was under 100 dollars. This month I received an increase to 107 from 98. Seems that I will look for a better option. Parking sometimes it is hard, yesterday (Oct 20th) I went to pick up my equipment and there was 5 cars, 4 inside and myself outside... I dont know if you can get signs from city staying loading zone or something. Anyway, service from employees it is good, they are always in good attitude, but price wise it is not convenient for me.

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN !!! The team of Jason, Mario and Miguel are very professional and some of the nicest people that I have had the pleasure of doing business with in a very long time. Their location at 6014 N. California Ave, Chicago, is VERY CLEAN and temperature controlled. I am a single woman and I really appreciate that I feel very safe when I stop by there, even after hours. I heartly recommend this Safeguard Self Storage, especially the location at 6014 N. California Ave, in West Rogers Park (AKA: NorthTown). Its just half a block North of Peterson Ave.

Safeguard Self Storage has been wonderful! Very friendly staff, very clean and secure facility, and very convenient location and hours. They even have flatbed wagons you can use to move your stuff...you can pull your car right inside and take the elevator to your unit if youre on an upper floor. Soooo nice if its cold or rainy, or even when its very hot. A friend of mine helped me when I took my stuff to storage there and he said it was the nicest storage facility he has ever seen! I agree!

A 5 star from the beginning. I was treated Luke I was the only customer they had. Clean facilities. Excellent truly excellent help from my gal at the facility on California Avenue. She was AWESOME. I only used this facility for two months, but I had a great experience. The facility is clean and well lit. It is secure, it has good hours, and it has a very convenient loading bay. Jason explained all the costs and procedures when I first signed up and conducted the final walk-through as soon as I got the last item into my car. I plan on getting a room here again next time I need storage space.

This is likely one of the best storage facilities Ive ever used. It feels very secure on multiple fronts including garage entry, elevator access and the units themselves. I always feel safe even when coming after dark. It is always very clean, and the staff has always been very responsive and helpful with any needs or requests whether in person or by email or phone.

This is the best storage facility and storage experience I have ever had. Clean, professional, helpful and courteous staff. Only suggestions would be 24 hour access or even midnight instead of ten. And the security elevators close a little too fast for people moving stuf . Other wise I love this place!!

This storage facility will suck you in at a low price then raise the monthly rent. In addition trying to enter and exit the building is very dangerous because of the traffic and the configuration of the loading dock. Backing up into heavy traffic trying to exit the building is difficult.

Clean, light, well maintained and the staff/mgmt. are courteous, helpful and VERY accommodating for their customers. I highly recommend them, even if they are a bit out of the way for you. Its easy to get to even on public transport.
