Since new management has taken over, I will go to no other auto repair shop. I have brought my mother, father and friends into this shop as well. I originally came to Car-X after getting an extremely high quote for regular maintenance on my car from a Firestone. After speaking with Brandon Pallas who patiently worked with me to understand all recommendations and their related charges as well as what was absolutely necessary to attend to now for safety reasons and what was beneficial to the long-term performance and life of my car... and most importantly, the WHYs for all of it. Being an analyst (by profession and nature), I did a lot of independent research before moving forward with any work and discovered that everything he described was true and priced very fairly. Now every time I come in I can trust that Brandon will tell it to me straight, not try to just "sell" me unnecessary repairs or maintenance and will get the work done right and quickly. They also managed to save my mothers car from being scrapped / donated after her dealership told her it would cost several thousands to basically rebuild the engine. Brandon knew of a special flush process that was effective and in her budget. This was months ago and it is still running great! My thanks to this shop. A good doctor, a savvy lawyer and a TRUSTWORTHY MECHANIC should be everyones three must-haves and Im happy to say Ive finally found the last piece of that equation!

My mother, who is a disabled senior citizen, had her brake lines fail with brake fluid leaking everywhere and almost total loss of braking. We took her car to Car-X and they replaced the brake lines, but later that same day she noticed a large amount of brake fluid was leaking in her driveway again. (Thankfully she saw this right away and didnt drive it anywhere and get into an accident.) No longer trusting the mechanics at Car-X to do the job right, she took her car to another mechanic who came highly recommended by a friend. This mechanic noticed several major issues with the Car-X repair that caused the leak, such as a loose bolt and improper splicing of brake lines, and fixed the problems. After contacting Car-X and providing them with written proof of the issues found and properly repaired by the other mechanic, they refused to refund our money, even after speaking with their district manager. I can understand that minor issues sometimes arise with car repairs, but when youre dealing with an important safety component such as brake lines, you need to get it right the first time.

Absolutely the worst experience Ive had getting a simple oil change. I watched while the manager upsold everyone on everything, using lines like "thats the tire your car was born with, but this ones the new model" to "oops" they dont make that tire for your car. Really? Maybe you just dont have that one in stock? Everything they do is focused on making you spend more money for no reason --- from an ENGINE FLUSH(?) to the manufacturer only gave you a 30 day warranty. In other words, we did the work but its the manufacturers fault that it was done poorly. This is what I listened to while waiting for them to do my oil change. It took 1.5 hours. They have no stock, everything is ordered out. So good luck if the auto parts store down the street is busy -- youre stuck waiting. They wait for delivery, while sitting around smoking cigarettes. Never again.

Recently I bought four new tires from the guys at Car-X and would recommend them to anyone looking for a friendly and reasonably priced shop in the Glen Ellyn area. I arrived at around 5:15pm and Chris, the manager, promptly got on the phone and had another Car-X employee pick up my tires from a store in Aurora. Chris and his mechanic waited for the tires to arrive and got me going right away. They both stayed around until about 45 minutes after their closing time to make sure I got everything taken care of that day. I have also had a good experience on four other occasions with not only my car, but my girlfriends. We both are fairly new to the state and are happy to know that the people at Car-X are not only friendly but professional and willing to go that extra step to take care of their customers.

The front brake calipers locked up on my van late on a Saturday afternoon. I needed a complete brake job on the front end and even though it was after 4:00 they jumped right on the job and completed the job by 5:30, a half hour after closing time. Unfortunately, while bleeding the brake lines my rear brake line ruptured. Do to the late hour all local car rentals were closed and being from out of town I was stuck without a vehicle. They graciously worked until 8:00 replacing the broken brake line and getting me on my way. I was lucky to have found this fine shop and would recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys!

Whatever your car needs; whatever noise or light on the dash is making you crazy, take your car to the Car X at 480 Roosevelt Rd in Glen Ellyn for the best car care ever. These guys really listen to what you tell them and explain thoroughly, patiently, and with cost in mind, what your car needs. They take the time to completely diagnose the problem and do a terrific job in resolving the issue. Additionally, the service is simply outstanding as they always go that extra mile to make sure the customer is satisfied. Trust is earned and I feel totally comfortable in recommending them to everyone I know!

I just went back in for more work (unrelated to the previous work I had done there). Once again, they blew me away with how awesome they were. First of all, Brandon rewarded me for being a repeat customer (they really value loyalty there!). They did a full rundown of everything that could be wrong with my crappy little Dodge, and they were totally forthright with what they would do before they did it. They even helped me with setting up financing for the whole thing. Even if I move out of the area, Im probably still going to be going here to get work done. These guys deserve your business!

My experience was great the Manager Brandon was very understanding and knowledgeable on what was going on with my truck. Brandon explained in detail what was going on and how they would fix it. The cost of the service was very reasonable to. I would highly recommend this Car-X to my friends and tell them to drive the extra distance to go to him. He gained a customer for life. Ive worked with Brian on multiple occasions and he has done excellent work for a good price. He explains everything thoroughly, shows you the problem and gives options for the repair. I have old cars so I appreciate their pragmatic approach to what I should do and not do. Brandon has also been easy to work with and quite helpful. Overall I have had multiple good experiences there.

I used to go Carx to have my car fixed but nowhere else until they changed management.In my last 2 visits my car came up with other unrelated issues and they charged me to fix those problems which they created.They treat you very well as a costumer but i think they are not honest enough.Their lost.
