Got recommended from people at my work and it was a great decision. Originally had Buick/GM estimate replacing my "Right front hub bearing" at $760 and they needed 3 days to turn it around. I first went to another shop in Gurnee for pricing and they offered 369+Tax, but then I found out Wells was closer so I did a price compare and they quoted 381 out the door with tax and all. I asked them when I could bring my car in and then have it back.... they said NEXT DAY. I know this is typically a result if business is slow but that was hardly the case here. They had all lifts up and cars packed in their lot. The customer service is awesome, very friendly, concerned and informed. They gave superbly competitive pricing compared to EVERYONE. They also noticed my front brakes were dangerously low and offered to replace them at a very reasonable rate. GM didnt even mention them. All in all, excellent place. Great work and fast reliable service. Spent $680 here for what GM wanted $1400 for (brakes, rotars, right front hub bearing). With out a doubt in my mind, I will be back if anything else goes wrong!

D Wells Automotive in Gurnee provided excellent service. Dave Wells greeted me right away. Tires were mounted and balanced correctly without any scratches on wheels. Old weights were removed. After installation of tires, 4 wheel alignment was checked for free. They showed me the print out and it showed the my Miatas alignment or "toe" was off or not within specs. I agreed and they performed the alignment. This will insure even wear on my new tires and better ride and handling. Tires were mounted and balanced within an hour. Alignment took another 45 min. Not a long wait. D Wells had many repeat and loyal customers in the waiting area. They spoke highly of the honest and quality of service. The waiting area was clean and had complementary coffee and tea. They had free WiFi. David and Dan who worked at the front desk were friendly, very knowledgeable, and customer-oriented. Great guys! Service was friendly, honest, and high quality. They were very thorough in their service. I highly recommend this shop for the installation of your tires or automotive servicing.

I took my 370Z here in the summer of 2013 to have all four tires swapped out and an alignment done. I left it there, said I wanted a custom alignment, and they assured me that I would be called about the alignment, as I wanted to specify what I wanted. I came back to find they had already done a "custom" alignment, which was terribly off in the front (drivers front wheel at 0.3 negative camber, passenger front at 0.7 negative camber) and that each wheel was scratched along the lip and one wheel on the face of one of the spokes. The wheels were all covered in dust from mounting. The old wheel weight adhesives were still all over the barrel of the wheel. Basically, everything about the job was sloppy. My family and I have been going here to have tire work done for years until my experience. They have usually been very good (theyre always friendly, at least) but I am appalled that they would not take extra care with my car. I will never come back here again.

My boyfriend and I moved to Gurnee over a year ago and whenever we had to get our cars serviced we would drive 40 minutes to our hometown. A few months ago we finally decided to find a shop closer to us and we are so glad we came to D Wells. Everyone that works there is friendly and thorough when explaining what needs to be done to your vehicle. You can tell from your first visit that the owner and his employees are genuine, good-hearted people and I trust them 100% with my vehicle. Thank you D Wells!

I went in to simply get my tires mounted and dismounted to my summer set. I told them that Id be back later since I had some errands to run. I got back a little earlier than expected so I decided to just wait it out, good thing I did. When I got back they were just lifting my car up and then I could hear whoever was moving my car revving it quite aggressively. Then when they were finally mounted they didnt even fill the tires up at the normal pressures.

"Great staff" Took a tire in to be repaired. They called back and gave me options on different reapirs and promply fixed the tire. When completed they offered to put the tire back on for me and stowed my spare. Not many places would go the extra yard and do that. A pleasure doing business with D Wells

i made an appointment, that i had to cancel. the staff was very professional when setting up and cancelling the appointment. approximately $20 for a general inspection, appeared to be a reasonable price.
