I must say that the overall experience in its entirety has been disappointing. If it was not such a costly hassle, I would definitely leave them for U-Haul. I had a particular issue come up and I just believed that how it was handled was unfair to me as a customer and it appears to be another form of getting the most bang for their customers bucks because in the end, it cost me more than double. I spoke with Ebony and she did not have the authority to resolve it, so I then spoke with the Director and I would go so far as to say that he was not willing to work to resolve it based on customer satisfaction. We played telephone tag a couple of times, but after his last return call, I called him twice and he never even attempted to return my calls from that point. I eventually tried a week later and a couple of days later, we finally connected and that too was a disappointing experience. I plan to pursue the matter further. In all fairness, I must add that my experience with Ebony was good. She gives great customer service, was professional and knowledgeable. I recently spoke to Yolanda due to another issue surfacing and she resolved the matter professionally. I am a reasonable person and know that retail in all its forms is probably one of the most difficult jobs to perform because customers can be rude and demand unreasonable request, but this is just not that kind of story. Knowing that, this review has been well thought out and I have made every effort to be consistently fair, but considering that I am a new customer and how my issues were addressed, I can say that I would not do business with them again.

On a day of a predicted twelve inches of snow and below freezing temperatures, I was greeted by Yolanda. She greeted me on a first name basis, upon arrival, a rare gesture these days in the world of customer service. It was quite evident that Yolanda is an experienced customer service guru". Not only was Yolanda very helpful, but she guided me in the slushy, snowy grounds, in her classy Public Storage four wheeler to two units to ensure that I would be satisfied with the needed space. Every opportunity Yolanda got she went the extra step above, sweeping the unit upon arrival to ensure that the cleanliness of the unit met the "top notch" expectation. Yolanda was quite personable and truly had a joyful spirit; you could tell quickly that Yolanda loves and appreciates her job and the customers that she serves. The East Hazel Crest Public Storage location is truly blessed to have an employee like Yolanda who doesnt miss a beat. Im pleased that I made the decision to come to this location and look forward to our business relationship, for the duration of needed service. **My one point of feedback is that the company consider putting an arrow or sign outside on Halsted street that will notify prospective customers of the access road leading to the location. After going around the property twice and twenty minutes later I realized that the "off the beaten path" road is the way to the storage location. For ease and a hassle free experience this would be very helpful.

My most recent visit to this facility (5/29/16) was well worth revisiting as I purposefully set out to do business with Ebony. She was very professional, instrumental, and knowledgeable in making sure I received the best service possible by upgrading yhe very last unit that appeared impossible to secure b/c the system was tied up. However, Ebony was very instrumental and knowledgeable of the system and was able to secure the unit! I was very impressed with her tenacity in making sure I got the unit and I did!! I recommend you see Ebony at the East Hazel Crest facility youll be pleased you did! Ebony is an excellent manager. Although Id made reservations for assigned unit, I walked into the office with some uncertainties. Ebony took the time to go over into details what my options would be based on items to be stored. I really appreciated her knowledge and service to detail. I left the office feeling less stressed knowing what I need to do. In addition, another employee (Jessica) was just as helpful with her politeness and service with a smile.

Yolanda asked me to rate her before I left the property to ensure she got a good rating. Once I moved in everything changed. Sbe stated i HAD to purchase insurance even though my insurance covered my unit. I over heard staff members telling new customers they HAD to purchase PS locks and could bring in their own I went in to get my locks cut off and was told to call back a day later. Called back and was told to call back in 10 minutes and literelly call back 15 times with no answer. Called back two day later and stayed I had to wait an addtl 5 days which I could have been told in the beginning. Rent increased without notice only after 6 mths. Customer service is terrible. Please dont rate anyone until after your full experience. It is very unprofessional for someone to ask that of a person when they are sitting in front of you and I promise if you have to deal with staff for any reason afterwards ypur rating would change. As long as I didnt need help everything was good. Staff makes customes feel like they are a burden whem its you job.

I went to this location with misinformed information and when I got there i was informed that I was given the wrong information by another employee at a different location. They told me that no spaces was available in the size I was looking for at that location, leaving me very disappointed. But the manager Yolonda was awsome!!!! She didnt want me to leave the location disappointed at her or her company because the wrong information that was given to me. She worked hard to find me a alternitive and gave me options. Neatless to say she found me a space a great rate and Im thankful for it. I left with a unit and very satisfied. I recomend this location first before any other!!! THANKS YOLONDA YOU ARE GREATT!!!

One of my favorite places to do business with. We, my fiancée Laura and I, usually pay for our units in person because the customer service is always outstanding. We usually see Yolanda and Dewon and sometimes Raquel. All of them are very good at paying attention to us when we come into the door, with politeness and friendliness. They usually remember our names and the number for each of our units and our respective payment method. When we see them elsewhere on the property, especially in the golf cart, Yolanda and Dewon, say hello. We have not seen Raquel in the cart, yet, but are sure she would be friendly, also. A big thank-you to all of them for their outstanding service and the help they provide.

Back in April I came to retrieve some documents from my unit to find that the gate hours had been changed without notification and the security of this unit was horrible. I was able to gain access without entering through the gate but a side emtrace. I reported this to their customer service Yolanda and nothing has been done. Now its May and I think its ridiculous that they will not contact you in regard to changes being made regarding gate hours but they will notify you by email that the unit price has changed again I have complain to customer service and still nothing has been done with regard to the security I will be contacting the corporate office. In my opinion thry dont deserve one star.
