Brought my car here for some brake work among other things. I was told that I needed new calipers, pads, and rotors. Seemed reasonable at the time, until I was quoted over $1300 for that job. So I decide to take it to another shop just to get a second opinion. Not only was I told that the price was exceedingly too high, I was also told by two shops that my calipers were completely fine. I ended up going to a shop just up the road, who replaced my rotors and pads for just under $400. Had I actually needed the calipers as well, they were going to charge me $800. Thats over $500 less than AutoLab quoted me. And mind you, I part matched with the new shop to make sure the parts being used WERE the same, and thats not where the price difference came from. Now, AutoLab is a nice shop. They have loaners, they are VERY professional, and Sherman in particular was VERY helpful when it came to explaining the problems with what happened. Its just unfortunate that I was either misled or a mistake was made in diagnosing the problem, and that the price was such a huge difference from what I was quoted at many other shops. Even Knauz BMW quoted me less than AutoLab, which was odd. All in all, they seem like good people, but prices are a bit steep in my opinion and just make sure to get a second inspection to make sure what is said to be wrong is actually wrong.

We recently purchased an 07 VW Rabbit from a family member and we knew that it needed a few repairs. Took it to a VW dealer and was quoted a ridiculous amount. They even charged me $125 for the diagnostics test, it was very discouraging. We decided to get a second opinion and called Auto Lab, explained our dilemma and they even offered to wave the diagnostics fee. Needless to say, we decided to go with them for the repairs and we couldnt have been more pleased with our decision. The repairs were done in no time and we were also offered a loaner vehicle. The company is great as a whole! Kevin, Sherman, Heather and the rest of the staff were so patient and very very informative! I highly recommend Auto Lab for any of your auto needs! We will be going back again and again.

My 1997 Jeep Wrangler failed its emission test and Auto Lab was a highly rated shop in the IL State shop book. I had also been having problems with the way the engine ran ever since I bought the car a year ago. I had taken it to 2 different shops, including the Jeep dealership, and neither could get it running right and said it was the best they could do. Sherman and his team found the test failure issue quickly and at a reasonable cost. My car passed its test and it has never run better. Very happy with the job they did and was impressed with the integrity shown by Sherman. I will be bringing my cars to him from now on.

May 2016... Brought my wifes 2014 Buick Encore for the 52500 Scheduled Maintenance. Done with precision and politeness at a savings over the dealer charges. PLUS... Got a thank you card and a free wash at the Auto Spa! Awesome! Thank you Sherman, Kevin and John. I brought my Baby 2003 Mustang Convertible to Sherman and Noel for a seasonal check up. Auto Lab truly respects all cars, especially my summer toy. After a full inspection by Noel, Sherman recommended an oil change using synthetic oil. Some future maintenance was recommended. Excellent & courteous service Kevin, Sherman and the team are a talented crew. We have been customers of the Auto lab for over 25 years and never been disappointed with the quality of repairs to our fleet of cars as well as the customer service. We appreciate a family owned local business and will never go anywhwre else. Auto lab does anything from the mundain such as oil and filter changes to swapping out an engin. They are prompt to communicate what type of service needs to be performe to getting it done expediently. We highly reccoment the Autolab team.

The customer service was excellent, they were very patient, explained everything and answered all our questions. They offered us a loaner vehicle for no extra charge since our repairs required more than just a couple hours. They leveraged the factory-recommended service schedule for repairs and needed replacement of parts. Overall, great experience at a very good price. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to avoid over-priced service from garages at auto dealerships!

These guys were great! I have had bad experiences with other auto places in the last few years so I was pleasantly surprised to find how helpful and trustworthy this team was. They patiently answered all of my annoying questions and put up with me on the phone for a good 20 minutes to do so. In addition to that, the loaner car process was painless, turnaround time was good, and they even left a hand-written thank you note on the dashboard! I will be using them again.

I have had many visits to Autolab over the past five years, and I can conclusively say that they stand behind their three promises: I have never had a return visit for a problem that they have fixed, I have always known exactly what they were fixing based on their communication, and the bill has always been either what they promised or less. I have worked on cars myself, and Autolab is the only service shop I have found that consistently meets or exceeds my expectations.

My husband called AutoLab this spring because our Acadia was having transmission troubles. Sherman was able to get us in within a day or two, and give us a diagnosis of what was going wrong with the transmission, the cost of repair, and a timeline for getting the car back to us. The work they did was exceptional and the best part was how communicative they were throughout the entire process. We were well informed the entire time our car was in their hands.

I have never been so comfortable trusting anyone with my car.
