Went to submit paperwork for a passport. Associate who serviced me was very sharp and sarcastic. When you submit a packet for a passport you have to include original documents; I submitted my original birth certificate. I had my packet in hand and when I inquired further about the assurance my documents were being handled in the most secure manner possible; she proceeded to snatch the documents out of my hand claiming that "her signature is on them and I *need* to give them back" When I wouldnt, as I know my rights, she immediately grabbed her cellphone and started texting someone. IDK why a government employee would reach for her personal cellphone to contact "someone" regarding certain "next steps" which she had in mind. Watch out for the female named Bre. I spoke with the supervisor, Mona, who understood; nevertheless. This female, Bre, behaved in such a manner as to try and out posture me; as if to imply: if I didnt do what she told me to do, when she was telling me to do it. My paperwork would not be given the same maintenance and professionalism as the others. I dont know if it was because Im Asian, but right from the moment I came into the room she was blatantly seething with contempt toward me.

Very disappointed, applied for a PO box 2 weeks ago, this is my 5th visit. Ill admit that I didnt read the instructions clearly. 1 photo ID, non-photo identification (why you need that I have no idea), the online application printed off. Finally got the PO box keys and didnt bother telling me the number for the PO box-- defeating the purpose of getting a PO box. After waiting in line for another 10 mins for the PO box number. I finally get to the PO and the keys dont work. I return to the line to wait again. This time Im told they can not give me a new PO box but I have to wait 2 weeks for when they recut new keys. At that moment, realizing that I would have had this useless PO box in my name for a month without having able to use it. And I only reserved it for 3 months... 1/3 of the time is completely inoperable! I understand human error and I dont mind waiting in line but every time this woman saw me today she rolled her eyes, didnt speak clearly, was very quick to pass judgement (mainly assuming that Id messed it their process again some how). She had 4 different occasions to change her attitude and refused. Just give me the working PO box and our interaction can be over?!?

Worst experience with postal "service" in my life! I was expecting 2 packages delivered this week for my kids Christmas presents. One was small and will fit in our mailbox nicely. The other was slightly and would require a pick up at the post office. Both were marked as "undeliverable" and were promptly shipped back to sender. No notice was given in the mailbox. When I called the post office to try and get the packages held so I could come get them (tracking numbers are handy), I was told, "the packages are on their way back to the senders. Bye." Thats it. No explanation, no apology, no anything. I understand that things happen, especially around the holidays, but this is the fourth time this has happened. Packages returned to sender with no notice given to me by the post office. If I had any choice I would never use this post office again. UPDATE 1/1/2015: For the past week or so our mailman has been putting everyones mail in the outgoing box (I live in an apartment and we have a communal box) so we have been unable to get our mail. Yet another example of how badly this post office operates.

Truly the worst post office Ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Seriously. Every time my FedEx tracking updates to "will be delivered by post office" I roll my eyes and sigh heavily. Itll sit at Palatine for DAYS, then be updated to "Out for Delivery"... Only it wont get delivered. This literally happened today. After sitting at the post office for 4 business days, a package of mine went out for delivery this morning. I have to ship larger packages to my apartment complexs leasing center, which closes at 6. Did it arrive by 6? Of course not. I got a tracking notification at nearly 7:30pm (2 hours after the post office closes) saying an exception occurred because they tried to deliver it and the business was closed. So now I have to call the post office to pick up my package or reschedule delivery. This is just one of the SEVERAL times this has happened. I havent even lived in Palatine a full year and Ive had more packages lost, damaged, mis-delivered, or just not delivered at all than I have in the entirety of my life. Get it together guys.

Out of the last 5 packages Ive ordered 3 where delivered via USPS. Out of the 5, the 3 delivered by USPS all were late, lost, and had issues. Yesterday ticked me off in particular. I paid for 2 day shipping and the package was labeled "Out for Delivery" so I had it sent to my business since someone is always there to accept it. I check the online tracking and it says deliver attempt made, but no one was there to accept it and a note was left. I read this while standing next to the front door of my business, which I hadnt left for hours. I walk outside to see my normal mail lady across the street and I go over and talk to her and ask if I had missed a package. She looks and says they didnt give her anything to give to my address. I call to find out where the package is and why nothing adds up, and we came to the conclusion that they attempted to deliver it to the wrong address. I understand... things happen. But this is the 3rd time in a row.

When Ive gone into this post office friendly service was not on the agenda. There was one situation where I was gone for a few days, came back on Saturday to find that my mail had been removed from my mailbox with a note to pick it up at the Post Office. I showed up to the Post Office and asked to get my mail. The clerk threw the paper back at me and said rudely "NOT A CHANCE" I asked why "The mail is still on the truck you cant get it until Monday" So I asked what their hours were during the week. Unfortunately I commuted downtown from Palatine every day at the time and these hours were not late enough or early enough for me. Best she could offer was a rude "Come in on saturday then" I did come in on Saturday to retrieve my mail but the rudeness of this employee was not needed

worst possible location to even look at, these guys are basically legal scam artists, taking all your money and then saying it wasnt enough. I had a package delivered through them with high priority 2 day shipping, 1 month later the package is still in a container over in California! I spent over 300 dollars on a package! When i called up the location specifically, the guy answered as quickly as he hung up. I asked about my package and he said, without even asking for a tracking number or name, that its being shipped. DO NOT, and i mean DO NOT go with USPS if you are in palatine or outlying, stick with UPS, their services may be more expensive, but even their ground shipping is safer and quicker than usps.
