The Plainfield post office could possibly be the worst organization I have ever encountered. Their performance and customer service is on the best day completely ineffective. Every time I walk in the lobby, I encounter long lines and only two tellers open and ready to serve people. Not just during the holiday season… All year around. I have lived in Plainfield for 10 years. During that time, countless checks coming to me simply didnt arrive… Long before the age of electronic payment and such which made it worse… Packages have been left on top of my mailbox at the street, Mail that clearly says do not bend has been folded in half and jammed inside my mailbox rather than being walked up to the front porch as it should be. Mail on the ground next to my mailbox is a frequent occurrence. A few years back, I did a test of my own and mailed 10 pieces of mail to myself from my business on the other side of town. Of the 10 pieces, only seven pieces were actually delivered… & of the ones that were delivered, two of the pieces took two weeks. A few days ago, I went to my mailbox to find 11 pieces of mail to various businesses and private parties in my mailbox. That made me wonder, am I now an employee of the post office since I have to write "not at this address" on 11 separate pieces of mail and put it back into my mailbox? Rather than doing that, I simply brought the bunch of mail back to the post office and spoke with a supervisor… They were reluctant to even come and talk to me at first, but when I insisted, I did get a very nice gal who said that they would place a seven-day watch on my mailbox delivery. I told her that over the past 10 years, this was the fourth or fifth time that this had been instituted, and it still happens. Coincidentally, there was a man in line behind me who had the same exact problem that I did. The very next day, what should appear in my mailbox with my mail? Seven more pieces of mail that were not for me… Clearly visible in this that stack of mail was a check. Trying to do the right thing, I called to the post office and asked ask if the gal I spoke to the other day was there so that I could give her feedback on how effective her "7 day watch" was. Although the post office was not open for business, someone did answer the phone and proceeded to be completely unwilling to help me in the name of customer service and although she clearly knew, refused to give me any supervisors names. When I asked for her name, she refused to give that to me and hung up on me. When I called back to ask why she hung up on me when all I was trying to do is get a supervisors name, she told me I was harassing her and hung up on me again. Clearly, there are many people in the Plainfield post office who dont give a damn about customer service and could care less about doing their job correctly. If any of the residence of Plainfield see this, and experience the same thing, I urge you to call and talk with a supervisor at the post office and let them know of your experience.

Never had a good one from this post office. My neighbors do a great job of collecting my mail that ends up in their boxes because these postal workers cant seem to deliver to the right house. They also say they are protected by their union to not have to leave the vehicle to put your mail in your box. So I may not even ever get mail delivered because my the neighbor boy parks in front of my home. I almost took a picture of the mail that was delivered in my box a couple days ago. It was jammed in there so crazy I am not sure how they did it without my box falling over from the pressure it must have taken to jam it inside in such a way. I have lived in many different places over the years and never thought twice about the mail. It ussually is just delivered and ya dont think much about it. Its a shame they do such a horrible job over there that it has the community so upset. Not surprised to see all these terrible comments about this post office. They are really not doing a good job at all. No pride obviously. Hope things get corrected over there soon. After meeting the postal masters little side kick dweeb of a man when my mail was not being delivered due to cars parking in front of my house I unfortunately think change is nothing more than a fantasy. We need great strong leaders to lead. The guy I met was the farthest thing from a strong leader I have ever seen. He must have papers that claim he is good at his position. It is clear he couldnt lead a pack of Boy Scouts. Shame on who ever hired such a person to lead any team. I would imagine an entire restructure of the employees would have to take place to fix this. Unfortunately I am willing to bet all these terrible people are protected by some great Union. What a shame. Hard for me to even give 1 star but it doesnt allow negative 10 stars. Called and spoke with Annette, she seemed friendly and helpful. Also unaware of any problems. Hope she has what it takes to get things running properly over there. I told her about these messages on the Internet, she said she does not look at or believe anything on social media. I think this day and age it might be a benefit for her to glance at these posts to see how the community feels. Not everyone picks up the phone and calls anyone these days. Theres a generation out there that doesnt communicate that way. I let her know of these messages and hope she has the wisdom to take a glance and see what people are posting about their facility.

This post office and the people working here are just horrible. I am so upset. There have been so many issues with them. Today was just another bad experience. I mailed a package for an ebay item and they forgot to put a label on it. Days later the package is returned to me. I have to go back there to mail again. Of course, no apology. They say youre lucky you dont have to pay for it again because I had receipt. They used terms like refund and free but there was no refund, it was just them resending it out again. He almost put the wrong label on it also. The supervisor was no help and looked annoyed that I was taking up time. They dont care when they make mistakes. I also had a money order come to me ripped so I couldnt cash it. It was put in clear post office sleeve saying they damaged it. When I went there, they said next time I should get insurance and there is nothing they can do. After I was married, I was expecting my new social security card with my new last name. It never came. Finally, had to go apply for another one. Weeks later original one showed up. It had been continuously delivered to wrong address even though it was made out to correct address. Someone kept writing on the envelope to "please look at the address" This is not correct address. I cant tell you how many times we received neighbors mail and packages. We find ourselves delivering mail we receive up to blocks away frequently. I can go on and on. They need retraining and better customer service. I would like to believe our postal system can do better than an "Oh Well" and a rude attitude!!
