My Chevy Blazer has been pending repair since September of last year. At first they were very responsive and friendly. They even held the car for me for a month while I made sure I could fund the repairs (they received it in August) - thats not a level of service you typically get from a mechanic! I was thrilled and thought I found the shop Id be loyal to for my tenure here on the south side of Indianapolis. Once they got the green light for repairs the time started to drag on. I followed up the week before Thanksgiving 2016 (2 months after they had the green light to work on it) and they said a reasonable estimate was a week; the parts were "in transit". I initially let it roll because I assumed they were just busy and they had been nice enough to hold it for me without charge. By mid January I was really upset. Operating as a single car household is not easy with our schedule - my mother and I both work, Im a full time student and the single mom of a toddler. I cant count how much Ive spent on alternative transportation, childcare and how much quality time Ive lost with my daughter for all the crazy ways weve had to twist our schedules to make this work. I said something then and they apologized for dropping the ball. Ive probably been told "one more week" or something similar more than 5 times at this point. Its been 5 weeks since that apology in February and Im about to tell them to just keep the damned thing. I couldve bought another clunker for the cost of the repair work and all the money Ive had to spend to manage our lives without the 2nd car at this point. Driving people back and forth to work eats up tons of additional gas. Family obligations in Crawfordsville - double those miles and that gas cost, too. I find it disheartening to see the kind reviews people have given since my car was put on this shops to do list. Judging by reviews on here and other sites it seems that new business has been regularly prioritized over work on my car. Apparently the shop is not too busy to take on new jobs - theyre just too busy for the commitments theyve made to *MY* family. Ill update this review if I ever get my car back. (Maybe if Im lucky Ill get it for Christmas 2017!) EDIT: I picked up the blazer on March 9th and its been running great for a few weeks. They also put in a new muffler the day I picked it up and ate the cost of the new tailpipe.

The repair that was the priority, and never happened at this shop. My Infiniti I35, (2003) was spewing and trailing smoke from start up. They fixed everything else on the list, but apparently this was too much for them, and they decided to be spiteful rather than try and work with me other than unnecessary shampooing treatments. Or maybe they forgot to check, either way, they couldnt figure this out and were complete jerks about it. Hey, it was the PCV valve, jerks! A $150, 1-3 hour job. Which they would have known, had they bothered to look. They identified themselves when I expressed concerns on a neighborhood FB site that I was getting the runaround about one of the repairs that was never completed, the owner decided to; identify himself, list out all the problems with my car in an insulting way, insult the previous mechanic, (but obviously never checked over his work or he would have found the problem), and then go into long wordy explanations of what he did do. Thanks for clearly demonstrating that you never looked at the PCV valve, which is clear weeding through the FB posts. Thanks again for the horrendous treatment. (Spoken down to, literally ignored at the door of the business, as in their backs to me and the dogs barking, when they asked me to be there, and the Infiniti logo peeled from my engine due to unnecessary "shampooing" to "fix" the smoking and the overly defensive, juvenile response on FB. From the moment I voiced my disappointment, (I never even raised my voice, but was tense probably. I dropped almost $3,000 for repairs and the main problem still wasnt fixed. (There was a long list of things that were fixed, my objection is the treatment I received when I told them it was still smoking). And I was basically being called a liar. I didnt yell or anything by the way). So yes, I am thoroughly unimpressed with the "professionalism" shown here when things dont go smoothly, and thats too bad because several neighbors recommended them.

It pains me to write a negative review of this shop because at one point in time Mechanically Inclined was an excellent shop which exceptional customer service. However after months, literally months, of being told "Ill have your car by Friday" and only then getting it back last week after threatening legal action, I simply cant recommend them to anyone. We finally got our vehicle back (repairs started in November of last year and its now May), but there are still problems with the transmission (the repair we initially took the vehicle in for) not to mention new alignment issues which we are now having resolved with another shop. Based on other reviews this is apparently a trend. I hope this is just a temporary problem with how things are being managed at this shop. It would be nice to see Mechanically Inclined come back to being the shop it once was.

Repair costs are fair with these guys. I would not recommend bringing luxury, or European vehicles here though. Mechanic is not very thorough with the work he does. Brought my BMW here with a "check engine" light on where I offered my opinion on what issue could be. Light was never diagnosed and mechanic played with the computer to turn fan on so heat would blow. Still in the dark what is ultimately the issue with car and cost involved for repair.

This place was recommended to us by irvington neighbors. At first the were ok but when my car came back it have the abs light on. Now just remember I just had the car looked at and he told what I need done so I said fix it. That include the brakes. Didnt have a light on till after he did my brakes. Because me and my husband and a difference of options he refused to honor is warranty. So my recommendation is to look elsewhere for your auto needs.

Ive always had a great experience with mechanically inclined and wouldnt trust my car to anyone else these days. Ive had those experiences where Im not sure if Im being ripped off or told I need work done that I dont need doing and this WASNT one of those experiences. At last, I feel like I have a mechanic I can trust, that doesnt overcharge me or make me feel stupid for asking questions.

Terrible customer service.. Poor communication. They have had my vehicle for over 2 months. Each time I call them they are test driving and I never get a call back. We communicate via text at their will. I would not recommend these guys to anyone. I have been the most patient human being under the sun and still being taken for a ride.

Once I realized the big chain auto repair places want to take advantage of you, I started looking. Thankfully, on FB, my neighboorhood people started talking about Ted and Cheryl. Wont take my cars anywhere else ... Fair, friendly, and they are great at communicating what is going on. Call in advance to schedule an appointment!
