Well, if you want to be taken advantage of...this owner Rich Reddens [Service Manager] knows how to do it. I drive a cargo van for expediting and had a delivery in Muncie, Indiana (500 mile trip). 18km before reaching the destination, and miles before the leak began, my transmission leaked fluid under pressure of carrying a payload and blew the transmission filler tube which inserts directly into the top of the transmission. I didnt know this that night. I was towed by AAA and brought to Precision Transmission for a diagnosis in the morning. The owner offered to take me into town to visit the mall to distract from the pending repair process. Before inspecting the vehicle on a lift, the owner offered only three options: 1. Purchase a rebuilt transmission $2800USD. 2. Rebuild my own transmission $2400USD 3. Purchase a junkyard transmission $1900 (with 120,000 miles...the new transmission I am using has 25,000miles) and had a mechanic immediately remove my transmission on the lift to lock me into the transaction. I would rate this type of service as FRAUD/SCAM and would never recommend this garage anyone. I picked up the Yellow Pages in their office and looked up Automotive Mechanics in the area, as I prepared to get a second opinion and avoid the costly/unnecessary repair bill. NYEs Automotive & Machine Shop Service is located directly across McGalliard Rd. Muncie, Indiana operated by George Fodrea. The second opinion was that Precision Transmission should have: Inspected the transmission case for a leak, opened the transmission oil pan for inspection. They didnt do either before removing my transmission, drive shaft, exhaust system (and damaging a weld), which I later repaired at Larrys Muffler Shop When I returned from NYEs Automotive with Georges business card and recommendation that Precision Transmission shouldnt have pulled my transmission before a general inspection/basic repair...Precision should return the vehicle to the original condition when I brought it in since I never authorized them to remove my transmission. Rich Redden, owner of Precision Transmission backed down, replaced the transmission and reconnected my exhaust system (which cracked a major weld in the process, that was professionally repaired/rewelded at Larrys Custom Exhaust this week in Chatham, Ontario, Canada). Precision Transmissions mechanic wouldnt speak to me about the reason for his owners decisions, but did say there wasnt any leak apart from the transmission filler tube that popped out, he later replaced it and added a ring and silicone to seal the connection). The repair took 5 minutes, I watched him complete the work. I left the facility with a $139 bill for transmission flush/fill/filter/gasket which is what they could of done in the first place. My transmission was also overfilled by 2 liters, it blew over the transmission overflow on the 250 mile trip home, but there were still no leaks. I siphoned the transmission fluid excess myself and leveled to the normal fill line. There are no issues with my transmission at all - it never needed rebuild, it needed the fluid filler tube inserted and locked in place. I have driven 1000 miles since then without any transmission issues at all. The owner Rich Reddens Service Manager [Tony] phoned and asked for me from Muncie Indiana and hung up the phone. Nice intimidation tactic. Phone back trying to harass me for giving an honest review, I will phone the local police in Muncie. 7/28/2015. Note to Precision Transmission & the general public. All that was written herein about my service experience with Precision Transmission is indeed FACT. I edited the name responsible in this review for their knowledge/credit. What kind of business writes their own 5-star reviews to defend their business reputation on Google+....I suspect a dishonest one. My employing company is a US FAST approved carrier with US security clearance, anyone contacting them on behalf of Precision Transmission for my personal information breaches international law. Good luck!

Rich Redden is a great mechanic!!! I was just going to have brakes changed and then he showed me I had a bushing problem he took me over and showed me one completely was broken away and the other was all broke down , he was very patient in explaining so I could understand since I dont know the first thing about cars I seen I had a definite problem and he fixed it right up ! After the repair I can definitely feel a big difference in driving it, it feels a lot better kind of felt rickety before but now feels nice and solid like your car should feel!

I originally took my car to the dealership when my transmission started acting up. But they quoted me a price that was almost as much as the cars worth, and they expected to take several days to finish. So I went to Precision for a second opinion. The repairs cost less than half what the dealership would have charged, and the work was finished that same day. The car drove perfectly fine after I left. The manager was even kind enough to pick me up from work and drive me to the shop.

Im 30. About 14 years ago I had a transmission issue with my first car. Ive since moved to southern Indiana, but Im visiting family in the Muncie area. I feel very fortunate to have had the problem in Precision Transmissions area. They talk to you like real people. Their warm disposition and patience has me feeling like maybe this wont be so bad. Thanks guys. Ill update after the repair.

The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and mostly knowledgable about transmissions. I needed a ride to pick up a rental while they were working on my car, so they offered to drive me there and back AND helped me with a discount. They have been voted "Muncies Finest" 3 years in row, which is initially why I chose them. I wouldnt trust going anywhere else.

Went in for a tune up and found out the seals were leaking on my rear axle and the AC compressor bearing was going out and it was cheaper to put a bypass pulley on. Repairs didnt cost an arm and a leg which is always a plus.
