I have 2 major complaints: Number 1) The service representative told my mother-in-law that she had a cracked heat exchanger and that she needed to install a new $6,000.00 + furnace. There was no mention of the heat exchanger still being under warranty. The furnace is only 7 years old. Summers is so trustworthy that they sent another Summers employee for a second opinion. I am sure he was not biased. What a surprise, the 2nd Summers employee found the same problem. By this time I had already told my mother-in-law not to do any business with this company. It was very clear what was going on. I had her call another company and guess what? No Cracks in the heat exchanger. We just saved over $6k, which is ridiculous in itself. Actually, I would have had the exchanger replaced under warranty for well under $1,000.00. Complaint Number 2) My mother-in-law told Summers not to come back and told them she no longer required their service as I had told her. When they heard this a new tactic was implemented. I am still not sure why they were so motivated to pursue her, but to get back in her door, they offered a brand new furnace if no crack was found by a 3rd Summers employee. Now this was hard to pass up. So even against my wishes, she allowed them to come back. I do give my Mother-in-law credit though, because she sat in the garage and watched the employee the entire time. So when no crack was found, did anyone contact my mother-in-law about the new furnace? No, and when we contacted them, they stated they would not follow through on the offer, because it was not a company policy. Summers made absolutely no attempt to recover after poor service and great inconvenience to the customer. Do not use this company!!! We tried to resolve this matter with them on a couple occasions but were put off.

Ive had the pleasure of working with Summers 3 times on a home I recently purchased and Im blown away every time with their professionalism and promptness. My first encounter was a bad valve for the main water line coming into the house. Dustin Scheele was on time, diagnosed it right away and with their upfront pricing schedule, showed me the charge for the repair and had the job completed in no time. Brandon Gillespie came out for my cooling checkup and thoroughly went through my system and explained everything to me in terms I could understand. Hes definitely an asset to the company and while I hope to never see him again, its nice to know that if an emergency pops up, Ill be treated kindly and fairly. I had a plumbing checkup and the field supervisor Jon Taylor came out and again, was very professional and didnt try to up sell me things I didnt need. Its no surprise to me that the supervisors are just as courteous as the technicians. Every phone call, email and visit from Summers has been a pleasant experience and Im very happy theyre close by in case I need them in the future.

We received a flyer from them and had them come out to look at our heating and air. They fixed our AC in May and in general we were happy with their service. However, this fall, we had them look at our furnace which we were told either needed $1k of repairs or replaced with a new unit costing between $2500 and $3000. We were told the other one may not last much longer so we should just buy the new one. We had a second, smaller company come out and we got the furnace fixed for less than $300. So, if you need just something little fixed, they may be ok, but beware, if they say you need a new furnace or an AC, get a second opinion. I really dont like being told I need a new unit when a simple repair would fix it. I really dont like the labels given. I dont want to put them at "0" but good is too much. Fair is how I would rate them. Bottom line is, if cost is of no concern to you, then Summers will do just fine. If you dont have money to burn, then check out Anderson Furnace.

They Cancelled my appt. 3 hrs. ahead of the appt. (after having made it weeks ago) -- not willing to attempt to reschedule me until 2 weeks later. Requested they try to reschedule someone early next week (I travel most of the time and my schedule is unpredictable) and they would make no effort to see if anyone was willing to change an appt. If they had wanted to reschedule me to accommodate company cancellations due to illness, I would have been more than willing to see if I could reschedule to help out. Apparently it is too much trouble to do that. Both telephone and chat communications were quite rude. My previous experience with Summers was positive, which was why I scheduled this years service. It will be my last service schedule. Maybe they have gotten so big that losing a customer, with bad feelings, is not a big deal for them. Someone else will be glad to accommodate a previous Summers client.

Lets just put it customer service leaves a lot to the imagination! I have been on their maintenance program for several years now and people on the maintenance program are "suppose" to get top priority. I called to schedule my furnace maintenance (which they are "supposed" to call and schedule so you dont have to) and they put me two whole months out. They also tend to cancel service appointments a lot which is completely inconvenient. Hell, I might as well schedule my air conditioning maintenance now so I can actually have it serviced before the end of next summer. I could go on and on above this place and how they tried to scam me into a new furnace last winter but that will take way too much typing and I dont really want to apply that much time to this review. All I recommend is..Run, run as fast as you can to another Heating and Air Conditioning Company!

On Oct 1st, 2014 I had Summers out to do a tune-up on our 11 year old American Standard furnace. The technician took about 10 minutes to identify a "crack" on the heat exchanger and could not proceed with the tune up. He did proceed to give me a quote to replace the entire system. Reluctant to do so I had a second company come to give a tune up as well. After a thorough inspection removing the blower fan and using a scope he could not identify any cracks and tuned up the furnace accordingly. The Summers technician was obviously after a quick sale and was willing to attempt to deceive me to do so. I will not do business with Summers PHC again, and I caution anyone considering them to get a second opinion prior to committing to any repairs with them.

We had Summers put in a humidifier recently and do a check-up on our heating and air conditioning system. We were very satisfied with their work. We also later had a problem with a thermostat, which went out on a very cold day. We called after hours and they had a man out within the hour to fix the problem. He didnt have the equipment to completely fix them problem at that time but was able to keep our house warm for the night. The next morning, another tech came over and fixed the problem in short order. We are very satisfied with the work, courtesy and pricing. We highly recommend this company to anyone in the Noblesville area.
