MediaCom is the WORST internet company I have ever encountered. The service goes down constantly. I am an internet support provider and I can not understand how they can run a business this way. I have contacted them over and over. They are sarcastic and blame the customer for THEIR poor service. They have appeared at my home demanding to get in to see if I was stealing cable. When they found no problem and no theft they left without apologizing or saying anything. Their speed is not what they claim, it is not even half. In my small Iowas town they are the only game in town. That is MedaiComs business model. They prey on people who need service and can not go else where. They are so much more expensive than any other company. The FCC made 3.5 GHz legal for citizens to distribute FREE internet among themselves. Some of us may purchase fiber and give internet away legally, better and faster. Customers have to do something. Northeast Iowa is literally being squelched out by bad service, slow speed and very poor treatment.

its amazing how many times I have gotten their service and how many times they say the area im in needs to be serviced again, because apparently no one has gotten mediacom and they dont know the location even though i have gotten their internet multiple times. They will say no one around me or in my building has their internet, but i could go to my neighbors and they say yes i am/we are using mediacom right now. ive been waiting weeks for them to come service the area so i can schedule an installation but they have not come. They are pretty much lying when they say they need to service an area because I know there was medicacom set-up previously. When i did have service before it would just randomly cut out and they will say their is an outage or they just choose to do maintenance, they are extremely unreliable and their custom service is atrocious each time ive had them. They make me wish I could have comcast thats how bad they are, they are worse then comcast

Service cuts in and out often. They have automated phone help that tries to trouble shoot but its limiting since they can only really tell you "it looks fine on our end".... and then offer solutions that you need to pay for just to get the basic level of service you need. I had Century Link before mediacom and hated that experience, so I came here. And - now Im probably going to go back. They have a higher priced plan, in addition they have a cap on the number of gigs you can use. Combined with poor service. I literally dont know how either of these two companies is in business. Google could come up with something way better I bet.... and I would jump in a heartbeat to service with a company besides either of these two.

Mediacom has certainly done me no wrong! I called them last Tuesday to get internet, and they came out the SAME day!!! They installed it and I was surfing the web at 100 MBPS right away! That is 75 times faster than what Century Link was offering me for the same price! Recently my modem had some trouble, and I called into the support line. Within a minute I was connected with a very competent person who quickly walked me through the problem, solved it, and I was on with my day! Five of Five for these guys! Theyre doing a great job.

Their service is very spotty and overpriced. One moment your internet works and then it is down for an hour. Once you finally get through on hold for a representative, they answer and try to make you buy premium channels while they check on your account. All of a sudden your internet is working great for a few days before the cycle repeats. Monopoly over those who cant get Dish Network/Direct TV for TV or Comelec for internet. Terrible company.

Worst ever ISP that I have encountered so far. I dont even like to give that 1 star. Have an outage for the last 4 days. No response from the customer service. Said they will fix it in a couple of hours.. and kept saying that every single day from last 4 days.. I work from home and have to take forced vacations and loose s** amount of money just for someone else who is not doing their job properly. This is ridiculous..!!

Internet is slow, and down frequently. Data cap is too low, we stream Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime since we dont watch commercials and prefer the video quality over Mediacom Cable. My Verizon cell phone has better connection speeds most of the time (I pay for 50Mbps and rarely get over 6), and is much more reliable than Mediacon. Cant wait for a better service to come to town.

What a joke. I have had 7 techs walk their dirty boots through my house and I still have my conection dropped every hour or so. Im also subscribed to their most expensive service they offer. Look elswhere. There automated customer service also sucks. It needs to be set up more ergonimically, that way when i have to call 3 times a day it doesnt take me 45 minutes each time!

Stepping into the front office, makes you feel like youve just walked into the shell of a business re-purposed for another use. If it wasnt for the fact that you know its been here for years youd swear they just set up shop in an open and run down space a week ago. Its serviceable for going in to pay your bill but definitely dont hang around here.

Mediacom??? For the most part it has good service and high speed. Just too high priced after the trial period is over. Occasionally there is interruptions with the internet service and you have to reboot/ refresh your modem like everyother month. If you have the phone service: If your phone is working , your service should be working..

They are always the only decent service provider in the area and they are always horrible. I lose connection daily and the speeds, when the service is up, are nowhere near what you pay for. Im honestly surprised that the company has made it this far and I feel sorry for the people they scam on a daily basis.

Their customer service was trash I had called to schedule an installation and the person said that it was it was all changed and then when the day comes nobody shows up. I then called to see what happened and they said I had no appointment and now I have to wait another week to have it installed.

Every night service goes out for several minutes to a half an hour. And yesterday I get a call at 6pm asking me to change my bundle and would not take no for an answer I had to hang up in the middle of him talking. LEARN TO GIVE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NOT BLACK OUT EVERY DAMN NIGHT!

By far the worst ISP Ive ever had. Spotty service with no real help troubleshooting nor do they do anything to fix the problem. Internet cuts in and out very very frequently for hours at a time for no reason! Super frustrating and I do not recommend.

Hours state they are open till 6pm. Just wasted a trip over there to find out they close at 5pm as of May 1st. Youd think an internet provider would have a large enough IT staff to update their hours. Apparently not....
