Its cheaply built and minimal security for your belongings - same as every other storage place out there. The security doors are pretty rough and the place isnt all that well maintained. The main reasons I am not satisfied: Within the first 6 months we had mouse droppings all over our belongings. 6 months after we signed up for the storage we were hit with a 13.5% increase to the rates. 8 months later and we have received notice that we are getting another 13.5% increase to the rate. This is what initiated this review. So a rate which was $161 just over a year ago is now $208 monthly. Its a racket - there is NO reason for these increases beyond just wanting to screw over your customers. They are increasing their rates just enough to make you eat it without giving you enough motivation to move all your crap somewhere else. Looking forward to getting out of there.

We used this facility to store our entire household belongings---for 2 years---while we were in transition. We opted to store our items, which included furnishings (antique and otherwise), books, clothing, electronics, and appliances, in a non-climate-controlled unit. Our items remained dry and clean throughout the rental period. We always felt secure and safe in the facility, no matter what the hour. The staff were always friendly, highly professional, and helpful. They went out of their way to assist us when we were moving items either in or out, such as searching for an additional loading cart for us. We have used other storage facilities before in other states. This is a top-notch facility. And the price was reasonable compared to that of other facilities we researched.

Incredible experience! Kim and Andrei were very helpful. The grounds were clean and there are cameras all around for security. Andrei showed me the stuff like boxes and plate protectors, shrink wrap and the powerful disc lock for my 10x15 storage unit. I bought the $50 moving kit which gave me the best value to help move my stuff. Andrei later took me back to show me my storage unit...it was clean and well maintained. The place looks new except for the front desk counter ...edge was peeling a bit (whispers...get that fixed guys and you will be awesome). Kim was great as she helped process my paperwork DIGITALLY and all I had to do was click...read ...click ...read...click! Thats it out the door and done! Cant wait to move my stuff in. LOL.

This Extra Space Storage is one of the best I have rented from (I have rented units from ESS in California). The units are clean before move-in and the staff is incredibly easy to work with and fast in getting the rental complete. Jenny was great, friendly, showed me where everything was, answered all of my questions. And she tried to make the process fast and painless. I was done in about 20 min. She was awesome! I almost rented at a different facility in MD where there were dead roaches in the "climate-control" units!! Really?! You would think they would have cleaned it out completely before they rented to a new customer. Im glad I switched to Extra Space Storage on Columbia Road!

Jenny Hamrick, the store manager of the Columbia, MD location is an amazing person to work with. She is professional and kind-hearted. She put my parents ( an elderly couple) minds at ease on temporarily storing all their worldly possessions. She is truly an asset to your company. We highly recommend storing at this location. Execllent customer service provided by Jake on phone, and in person by Stephanie Lacoste and Dhan Silwal from Extra Space Storage office ( store number 0950). Both Stephanie and Dhan went over and beyond our expectations to help us select the storage unit. They both are very courteous and friendly staff. They made the whole process of getting our storage unit very easy. Will surely refer this "extra space storage"on Old Columbia Road to my friends. Very Happy and Satisfied with the service provided. The storage unit is weather controlled and clean.

Had a great experience this past weekend at the Extra Space Storage facility in Columbia. Not only was the manager on duty, Steve, very helpful and professional, but the facility was clean and well maintained. Steve took all the time my wife and I needed to help us select the right space. The office was equally clean and inviting. I didnt expect to that impressed with a storage facility, but this is a must see site if youre in the market. The staff that is there is great. If you experience an issue they are true to their word and will call you and make sure things are right. I once had an issue with gaining access to the gate and I called the 800 number and they had me thru in no time. The very next morning as soon as they opened the lady there called me to make sure I was able to gain access and they fixed the problem right away. I couldnt ask for better customer service. Hunting around at the different prices theres was by far the best.

What an experience! This was my first time leaving my belongings at a storage place and Jenny (the manager) made it trustworthy. As soon as I got there, she greeted me and the place looked really clean. Jenny showed me the room I reserved and it was well-maintained. Overall, the people are very friendly and the environment is trustworthy knowing that you need a password to get in through every door, etc. You can definitely rely on Jenny with your belongings!

Jenny, who has been managing this site for several years, continues to do outstanding work. I stopped in at the office yesterday and found her explaining the system to a new customer. I told the customer that were lucky to have such a helpful person in change, and the customer smiled and said I was so right. World Computer Exchange has been a customer in Columbia for years and have always found this Extra Space location to be well managed, clean and the staff professional and friendly. We love Jenny! She has helped us out of a couple of pickles when we needed to move A LOT of items in and out. Sometimes we need additional space for short periods of time. We have never run into problems even after hours when staff is not present.

The service is great, very accommodating to my needs and will do their best to get you a good deal. The process from start to finish was easy and quick. Steve was very clear about multiple options, insurance, amenities available. The units were spotless, and well cared for.
