This gym has been a nightmare. Before you become a member, you are treated insanely well. All questions are answered, youre treated with respect, all the good stuff. When you become a member, youre told you have a $39.00 fee for joining. This is normal. But the reason I was told was so your monthly price wouldnt go up, which I was then told after that that it NEVER goes up. Interesting. I spent a good bit of time at the gym. For the few machines I used, I was typically taking turns with some other person, or even cycling through 3-4 other people because they only had one machine. Many machines were broken, TVs didnt work on most of the treadmills, bathrooms werent terrible, but werent very clean. The smell this place has is almost unbearable. Yes, lots of people are sweating, but the air would become stagnant. Most of the regulars took the bench press. From the months I went, I was able to use it a totally one time. Any other time, these hulk-men had complete control of it. Since all of this, I had moved a few times and had decided to cancel my membership. This is when things get rough. I talk to someone at the front desk, and hes busy with a group of suckers about to get a membership here. He finishes and I explain to him I wish to cancel. He asks why and I explain. He says the manager has to be the one to process the cancellation, but they werent in. He took down mine and my girlfriends name and account numbers. He explains that after we cancel, we will be billed one more time. We agreed and left. 2 months later, were billed for a second time. I call them and ask what the problem was, and they say I must speak to a manager. In person. Ok... We go in and ask why we were charged, again. The man at the front desk says our membership was never cancelled. I ask to speak to the manager and he says "I can get him for you, but Ill be honest with you... You arent gonna get your money back. Ill tell you that right now." Yes, this was really said to us. I speak to the manager and he apologizes and thinks its insane that this happened. I dont believe him, but play along. He again, takes our names, account numbers, etc. Seeing a pattern? Another month, another charge. This time, it was a yearly $39.00 fee. We go back in and I talk to the same manager. He says he hasnt heard back from the home office or anything and asks "Do you guys want to work out for free?" Well, it aint free if its still being paid for, now is it? Im charged again, and this is when weve had enough. I call my bank directly, explain the situation, and filed a dispute. About 2 weeks later, I get my money back. Just today, I receive an email saying I wont be getting a refund. This was an email from Fitness Evolution directly. Im n laughing at you and your shoddy company. I got my money back from the dispute, and you all didnt even realize it. Save yourself the trouble. Find another gym.

Was really considering joining this gym. So close to where I live and the price seems comfortable! Unfortunately, these reviews have made me consider LA fitness. At least for them they dont have employees writing reviews that blame the customer. We should work on PR fast before this gym gets the boot. Reviews are important to the public and POTENTIAl MEMBERS. A gym in a popular mall (one that has a bright future with the owners plans for new stores and restaurants) could be so successful BUT with countless bad experiences from the community as well as having an employee literally blaming CUSTOMERS- its ridiculous. (Although I will say Ive worked in customer service too. I understand). Management and owner should rethink how payments and cancelations are processed. The should also considering working on their overall brand. You are in an area where you are competitng with the new "I Love Kickboxing" gym, LA fitness and gyms in apartment complexes. This seems poorly run. I could easily just not apply for the membership but I think I care so much BECAUSE THIS GYM HAS POTENTIAL! You are in a prime area! Insane

If you have $10/month to spend, Id probably spend it somewhere else. For $10/month you get EXACTLY what you pay for! Sure youll get a place where you can work out, but what you also get is: - NUMEROUS broken machines that stay in that same state of disrepair for WEEKS on end with no one coming out to service them. - Weights that are left scattered across the weight room floor with no attendant even bothering to put them back. The PERSONAL TRAINERS, the people that WORK there, dont even put them back! - Unprofessional staff that cares more about sitting on his or her phone rather than help the gyms paying customers - AIR CONDITIONING THAT HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR MONTHS. This wouldnt bother me if it wasnt the SUMMER!!! It is 90 degrees out with incredibly high humidity and this gym does not have a fan, open window, or any air circulation of any kind. They spend more on air fresheners than air conditioning Honestly, if this is the ONLY gym you can afford, stay at home and do P90X or Insanity or really just go outside and run.

You can tell they are still renovating this location, but the staff in extremely helpful and seem to care more about the gym then when fitness evolution was here. Personally, I prefer the planet fitness equipment (fitness evolution never seemed to care about making sure they actually had working equipment). Megan personally took me to the new black card zone (which is by far better than ANY surrounding location) and let me use the hydro massage bed, that thing is amazing. She then walked me through upgrading and was overall helpful and extremely welcoming. She helped me get into some fitness classes as well and Im excited for my new journey at planet fitness. Highly recommend for anyone in the area! Customer service was beyond great. Thanks guys!

I went up there to check out the gym and sign up, but the latina girl there was very unprofessional. When I walked to the counter at first, she ignored me and was busy talking with her friend on the other side of the counter.She ignored me for like 2 minutes and then later she asked me "what can I do for you". After I told her I wanted to check out the gym and sign up, she responded and said go ahead. I asked her if someone could take me around and tell me more stuff about the gym, but she replied saying she cant leave the counter. I went ahead and looked around, but then finally I decided to leave and I will never go back there. This is the worst place ever. DO NOT GO THERE

Decided to go this location because I didnt feel like dealing with the traffic going to the Ivy city location.The only things that bothered me about this place are 1)its not 24 hours, 2) the lockers havent been upgraded to the other PF lockers with built in locks and 3) the dumbbells were not stack appropriately. There is a slight stench when you walk in but disappears. Its definitely not horrible the way people have been painting this place to be. Its clearly still in the renovation phase but for the most part its cool and completed. Has a few pieces of equipment that are not at the Ivy City PF which is nice.
