My review is for the work done by Phil Gravels. Phil has over 20 years of experience in hair and you can tell! He knows what he is talking about and he makes a point of always educating his clients on how to care for and style their hair. He looks at your face shape, coloring, hair and body type to determine what will look best on you and then helps you to achieve it (since he cant be in your bedroom every morning to get you ready). He communicates well with me to make sure I am pleased with the results, and he tweaks anything I dont love. Dont worry about the rest of Art & Chemistry, just ask for Phil and he will make sure you look fabulous!

I have been going to Art and Chemistry for over 20 years and all stylists are top notch. My stylist, Philip, has never disappointed. He is extraordinarily talented. He is an artist who could style the movie stars -- but he is here in Kensington/Rockville--arent we lucky! He understands his clients needs in terms of hair thinning, lifestyle needs when styling hair, and the look appropriate for ones career. I have no hesitation recommending this Salon.

I have been going to this salon for 5 years now. They have cleaned me up when i went to other salons that were cheaper and they damaged my hair. I have had highlights, short cuts, long cuts. last year i did Japanese relaxer and It lasted a whole year. And i was so satisfied. I no longer try going to other salons. Because in know ill be back at A & C. So why waste double the money and just go and get my moneys worth.

Melissa is amazing: her styles, treatments, and advice have given me exactly the hairstyle I wanted. She also made me feel completely comfortable during my appointment. Though the salon was a little hard to find at first (it is next to the Vie de France), the parking is good and the staff are all talented and friendly. I highly recommend it!

totally agree with previous post. Phil is awesome. I lived in Rockville 14 years ago for 6 months and found him. I have moved to NJ, Scotland and now back to MD (but over an hour away) and continue to return to him 1-2 times a year to get my best cut.
