They are rated 1 star simply because i could not give them the 0 starts they actually deserve. Route 1 self storage is absolutely without a doubt the worst storage facility in the area. I had items stored for roughly 4 years. In that period without fail rent was raised 8-10% each year and customer service and security seemed to drop off each year. Several dozen times the security gate was raised where anyone could just drive in and do as they wish. The flatbed carts they used as a selling tool where missing or always broken. When it came time for us to move our stuff out of the facility i couldnt have been happier. I gave them the 30 day notice they required and have it in email form as proof. Low and behold, around 10/7/16 I was sent and email saying my rent was late. I called and spoke with their call center and asked to have someone call me that is a manager of the facility. I never received a follow up phone call. I emailed them to try and get some type of response, again my attempts to reach someone have fallen on deaf ears. This place is a total joke and you will be much happier if you do not do business with them.

I moved from a two bedroom apartment down to one room with a roommate to restart my life. During those two years, I needed a place to store all of my things. From start to closing, their contracts were easy to understand and I was able to depart with ease and peace. I was glad that the gate access was available during the later parts of the day. I used the climate controlled storage option which held up for both years. However, when I went to retrieve my things, there were weird white dots on some of my boxes and metal items. I am happy that nothing important was damaged. Despite this, I would still trust them as they fulfilled my original need: somewhere to safely store my things. I am using another storage unit now, but this is only because Route One was too far away from my current place of residence. Route One isnt the cheapest option in the area, but they have good units and people working there. Thanks for keeping my things safe guys. Im happy for that.

I have rented a unit here for 3 years. This place is infested with rodents. I drove up and saw 2 dead mice on the ground outside of my storage facility. Inside there is a foul odor and mouse droppings everywhere. The roofing needs repair. I brought this to their attention because the ceiling dropped in my unit and they never fixed it. Rental prices increase every year.

I recently needed to move and needed storage for a short period of time. Route 1 Self Storage was the CHEAPEST PRICE out. The Coustmer Service Was Awesome!! Would Store there again for sure.
