This is by far the worst experience I have ever had in my 20 years of moving!!! I saw the good reviews online and decided to use this company. HUGE MISTAKE! I moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a townhome on 7/17/2017. I requested Excalibur pack 2 closets, 2 bathrooms and the kitchen. They quoted me an estimate of 4 hours for the move factoring in I was moving a mile down the road. The weekend leading up to the move I packed the second closet and the second bathroom so when the mover showed up all they had to do was pack 1 bathroom, 1 closet and the kitchen. Throughout the entirety of the move I had many problems with the company. 1. It took the movers 4 ½ HOURS just to pack a 2 bedroom apartment. 2. The movers were talking on their phones and moving slowly the entire move. 3. After telling them what to pack, the movers still didn’t pack any of my bath towels not did they pack everything in the backroom i.e. body wash and shower curtains. 4. I called the office 4 times to complain at the beginning of the move and there was no answer, so I left a message. 5. Autumn called me back and said that a supervisor would give me a call back to speak with me about my issues. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. 6. En route to the destination the movers asked me could they stop at 7 Eleven. The answer was NO because they were still on the clock and had taken long enough to pack. 7. Upon unloading the movers seemed to damage every wall they were in proximity to. 8. I saw a light on in one of my bathrooms so I opened the door to turn it off and one of the movers is TAKING A POOP!!! Essentially, no I’m paying for a 3 man crew when only 2 men are working. 9. The move ended up taking over 6 hours for a grand total of $919.00!!!! After all of this I was fed up so I called the office again, since no one had called me back in reference to my complaints. I spoke with the owner Eli and I expressed all of the issues listed above. He had an excuse for everything and did not take responsibility for the actions of his employees. He then told me that I did not know how to read my contract and I could either pay or he would take the rest of my belongings that were still in the truck. He also told me I was lucky I was getting the 5% military discount and he was going take away the military discount if I didn’t pay immediately. Excalibur is by far THE WORST MOVING COMPANY I have every dealt with. I will tell everyone I know to never use this company. COMPLETE UNPROFESSIONALISM from top to bottom!!!

Im writing this review because of the horrid experience I had a local move with Excalibur movers on Saturday May 31 2014. the movers arrival was on time and the 2 assistance that work for the driver were okay, but when the driver started out telling me that the people at the office didnt know what they were talking about and that it would probably go over the 6 hour quote before seeing the load I was taken back, well never the less I told him lets get started and that we were ready to move and I understood the fact as the lady at the office had explained to me that I would only be charged for the time I used, and quoted me everything up until the 6hr mark. Needless to say when we arrived at our new house the driver told me that I had to pay all of the money before he would start to unload, he made me feel like I was out to beat him, well to avoid conflict and in knowing that it would take all of the original allotted time I paid him the balance plus and additional hour in cash, as I was also employing an additional worker of my own to help with the packing and moving, well at the end of a long move we had used all of the time I had paid for and should have had a balance of an 1/2 hr. Well at this point the driver wanted to charge me an additional whole hour and charge me the gas surcharge again after the surcharge had already been in the original quote, although there was no additional travel. I told him that I had no problem paying for the additional 1/2 hour as the lady in the office had told me that in detail that you only pay for the time used and that if you only used that, that this is what you would be charge. Needless to say the driver was rearranging the rules as he saw fit, I guess thats why he said that the office doesnt know what theyre doing and that he had a brand new hustle. the bad part is that if he was would have been honest the tip I had for them would have far exceeded the hustle amount. oh well

We recently moved to a different city and since I was 25wks pregnant with a toddler we decided to hire someone to help move our 2 bedroom condo into a 4 bedroom home. I was given an estimate sheet to fill out and I marked we had a 4 bedroom home because I knew we had a lot of stuff. We are a very young couple on only one income. We chose this moving company because they gave us the best estimate of roughly $1,400/ 1,500, 4 movers, and 9hrs with packing as being the deal that was included. The men were very nice came to our home at 830am and started packing. We went out and bought them coffee and a McDs snack to show them our appreciation. They finally finished packing everything and moving everything around 5pm. They still had to unload everything. That was already at the estimate. They came into the house and started unloading and we were put in a very awkward spot because they asked about a tip to be included in addition to the price being over 2k. We were in shock. I had 2k ready for them because I figured that estimate was not going to be accurate but to come to pay over 2,400 for the move was the worst customer service ever. The estimate needs to be more accurate or send someone to check out the place first before you have people come in to move someone. To have to pay that and tip and except someone to pay 1k OVER your estimate is not professional, and a complete and total misquote. The packers were great, nothing (so far we are still unpacking all our boxes) has been broken. Few normal wear and tear scratches on furniture. Overall the people who came here were nice that being said, we are now over the limit we set to pay them so I will never use this company again.

Ive moved about 5 times in the last 3 years for work so it was always paid for. I was moving from Bethesda to Silver Spring MD. This company was responsive, customer service was great and the guys.......professional definitely, on time, quick and respected my home and belongings. It was a big move for me 3br House to another, they packed everything and protected everything in my home and I paid a flat hourly rate that included all of it. That was great to have.... after reading all the horror stories, while trying to find a company. This was the first time I had to find a moving company I moved on April 14, 2012 and had a great experience with move and felt comfortable with them in my home. When I put my information on the Internet for a moving estimate....oh.... I could not believe how many responses I received, 20 different companies and 100 calls. I did my research, checked ratings, reviews and of course... the BBB. I didnt find anything negative about the company and just a couple of reviews, but good ones and everything checked out with the BBB had an A rating. Thats why Im taking the time to write this, well deserved. I highly recommend this company if your looking for good customer service and hard working movers definitely,..did a great job!
