Wheaton Body Shop is what I would call a treasure of body shop, and this review is a bit late so please read on. I had such a pleasant and amazing experience working with Klara and Peter of Wheaton Body Shop. So much so that after my vehicle was repaired, my mother-in-law’s RAV-4 was damaged in an accident and I brought her car straight to them for repairs. There was no doubt in my mind that her car would only be repaired by Peter and Klara. The story begins a little over a year and a half ago, where my car was the unfortunate recipient of a drunk driver that caused damage to multiple parked vehicles. The damage to the rear of my vehicle was extensive, and it seemed that the possibility of losing my car was highly probable. I spoke with Klara and she was very personable and professional to speak to. I was unsure if I should peruse the repair, so Klara helped arrange for Peter to stop by to take a look at my vehicle. I live just 5 minutes away from the body shop, but I was very fortunate that Peter was able to stop by as he carries an extremely busy schedule. He was very personable and friendly as well, and we talked about the accident, my insurance company’s damage assessment, and why I wanted to keep my car. With his flashlight in hand, he dove right under my vehicle to assess the damage. When he emerged, he was very confident that he could do the repairs, even advising me to order replacement tail lights by checking online because I could get a better price. The best part was there was no pressure, and he presented me the time table of when my vehicle could be taken in to the shop if I decided to fix it. After this time, I still wasn’t sure if I should proceed with the repairs as I was worried about unforeseen damages etc. I emailed Klara, and even talked to her on the phone on several occasions to further talk about the pros and cons of undergoing the repairs. She is very friendly and a pleasure to talk to, and I always enjoyed talking to her. She wanted to make sure that I was absolutely sure and comfortable that I wanted to repair my vehicle. After speaking with her on several occasions I finally felt comfortable about proceeding. During the repairs, Klara kept me updated and also informing about an approximate completion date. When they knew that they needed more time, they kept me informed throughout the whole process. I responded “Take all the time you need” because I felt very confident that my vehicle was in good hands. When I got my vehicle back, it looked amazing, as though the accident did not happen. In fact, I needed to bring my car to the Acura dealer for some maintenance, and they commented on how clean my vehicle is. Mind you, my car was 13 years old at the time! Wheaton Body Shop is a remarkable establishment that is very personable, friendly and honest. I could write pages and pages of how such a great place this is. Do yourself a favor, if your car needs repairs bring your car to Wheaton Body Shop. Peter and Klara are great to work with. Remember, I also brought my mother-in-law’s car for repairs as well. I even dropped by and gave them a box of Hawaiian Chocolate Macadamia Nuts as a token of appreciation. Try and find a box around here, you can’t! That is how much I appreciated the experience. As for my car today? It looks clean as ever. Thank you Peter and Klara!!

My family and I have been going to Wheaton Body Shop for at least 8 years already, even though I moved from Silver Spring to farther out in Rockville, and there are plenty of options closer. Now many of my friends and co-workers are also fans! I decided I had to write this review after needing to go back again last week (was side-swiped in a parking lot by an SUV, whole Drivers side of car was mangled). Not only did they have the whole thing done within the week, they also went through and fixed some minor scratches and an old bumper dent in my car for free while it was in there. That is the kind of service that makes coming here really worth it! I was happily surprised, and the car looked great--paint and everything was perfectly matched, looked in better shape than it had before the accident. I was actually planning to buy a new car recently, but seeing it now made me decide to wait a while longer! They are absolutely reliable and very reasonably priced compared to other shops. The owners (most recently worked with Peter) are the most wonderful people to deal with--theyre super helpful, willing to explain and go over anything with you, and the service always feels personal and friendly, as oppose to the bigger shops. Klara is now working in the front office and helping with estimates and all the insurance work (they will always deal directly with the insurance company for you if needed, makes it easier and less stressful) and she is great as well. Just had to say thanks!

Wheaton Auto Body is fabulous! I went through a difficult time because the trunk of my Saturn Ion 2003 had broken, would not pop up, and was heavy to lift, and when I held it up the temptation was to use my head (obviously not smart but convenient) and it was dangerous. I had it repaired by another auto body shop and then it broke again about 8 months later. They did a makeshift repair (without charge, to be fair to them) and it always made a noise like it was about to break again. They blamed the problem on the faulty design and said that was the best they could do unless I wanted to spend a lot more. Then it did break about 3 months later and that auto body shop said it would cost $409.00 to get it repaired again (to get it repaired the complete way it should have been repaired in the 1st place) and that they would have to replace the hinges. I got a 2nd opinion at Wheaton Auto Body and they ended up fixing it for $167.83 whereas the other place had originally charged me $178.00 and had not done a thorough job. Also, when I initially came in to WAB for a 2nd opinion, the man looking at the situation tried to fix my trunk using a wrench, was unsuccessful, and went in to look up the cost of parts. I tried to give him a gratuity for his efforts to fix my trunk but he refused to accept any money. I wish I had come to WAB in the 1st place! Im thrilled with my trunk which now smoothly glides open!

Needing body work is definitely a time when you need to feel comfortable with the people doing the repairs. I was recently in that position with my Honda Odyssey mini-van which had damage to the bumper and rear gate. I had previously received an estimate at another shop and that experience felt more like I was just another customer that they had to shuffle through their schedule. There are many options for body work in Wheaton but Wheaton Body Shop will take the time to let you know theyre going to treat you right and do great work. Everything about my experience with Wheaton Body Shop had me feeling confident about the work. When I walked in the nice, clean office I was greeted professionally and cordially. The manager made accommodations for me to leave my car there that day and helped me to know what the repair schedule would likely be. They updated me during the repair process (which wasnt long) too. I dont think Ive driven away from a body shop before thinking that my car looks a little better coming out than it did even before it got wrecked. If I ever need body work for use this store. Theyve got customer service right.
