Overall Id say Pohanka did a satisfactory job with the repair. The lady at the front desk was very nice, but I was a little worried about how the repair would go after spending a few minutes in their waiting room. Their toilet seat is broken, their refrigerator where they keep their soft drinks for customers is broken, and the place doesnt look very nice. This all makes you wonder how good of a repair on your car this shop will do if they cant even keep their office in good shape. Then I was really worried when one of their employees made this comment to a coworker, clearly having knowledge that I was in the room: he was looking for his customer, and was discussing with the receptionist: Receptionist - "maybe she left" Car guy - "Im hoping she left, I dont get paid by the car service!" That didnt sit well with me. I got my car back within the time they specified, and the part they repaired looked great, but they left a few things incomplete inside the car - my sunroof was not attached properly, and the fabric was not properly put back into the plastic in part of the door. They also left a few mechanical parts inside my car, and tape inside my gas cap. Im pretty worried about what else they didnt finish putting back together, and hoping the car doesnt just fall apart while Im on the highway. Fortunately I noticed those things while I was still in the lot, so they apologized and promptly fixed them. But thats really terrible that I had to find those things myself, and doesnt bode well that they dont have good enough quality control to find those things before giving the car back to me. Bottom line - there are a lot of crappy repair shops out there. This one does a good job with the repairs, but you have to really check your car when its done to make sure they put everything back together right, because they really dont do a good job checking that stuff themselves.

I had a very nice experience with the guys at Pohanka - Alexandria. Ive never needed auto body repair done before, but I managed to get a side scrape + dent across my rear passenger door and quarter panel (2005 Matrix). I went to Spectrum Auto Body Repair and got an estimate: $1,840. WOW! I had *no* idea! So I filed an insurance claim (with MetLife). Pohanka was on their approved/preferred repair shop list. I figured Id give them a shot (compare them to what Spectrum had to offer). I was able to get in for an estimate the day after I called them. The shop is on this little side street off Duke Street. Nice-sized, clean lobby area. Clean, organized shop area. Justin and Terrell got me all set up with my estimate in no time. As a preferred shop, they were able to provide the official insurance adjustment. Their estimate: $1,250 + 9 days work. Terrell really looked everything over and gave me a full rundown of the work that would be done. He answered all my questions and was very helpful. I was able to leave my car right then and there for them to get started (I figure I got lucky with an open scheduling window - I imagine they have busy and slow times). They offered me a ride to King St metro station but I was able to hop on a bus right there. Dropped it off Thurs morning and I got the call it was finished on the following Tues afternoon - only 5 working days! While it was in the shop, I was able to exchange emails with the office regarding the insurance paperwork. (I had the insurance company pay the shop directly.) When I picked up the car, I paid my deductible then went to see the results - the car looks as a good as new. Youd never know it was damaged. Seriously - I was surprised and impressed. Great work. Clean car. Very nice, friendly, helpful staff. Id definitely use Pohanka - Alexandria again and recommend them to friends.

Excellent service-both in work performed and customer service. Ms. Rhonda Johnson (no relation to me) provided superb customer service. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, and courteous! The shop uses text messages (and I think theyd call or email if you wanted them to) to keep you updated on the progress of your vehicle. I received one or two a day keeping me informed and letting me know when work would be complete. The "main office" called while vehicle in shop and asked if satisfied with everything so far (I definitely was!). This place really provides customer service. Work turned out excellent. Front, right bumper and headlamp on car had been heavily scraped by another driver. After repairs, looks brand new! Would definitely return if need future repair work!

Had a rock bounce off a truck and do considerable damage to my hood. The process was excellent. Made an appointment for 2 days later and had my car back in perfect condition in 36 hours. Rhonda and team deserve kudos for making a difficult situation tolerable and the outcome was great. I felt price was very fair. Hope I dont need collision services again, but if I do, Caliber Alexandria will be my first choice.
