I brought my car to Dear Pond Auto in Leicester, MA to get a state inspection sticker. To my surprise they failed the vehicle for bad ball joints and immediately gave me an estimate to fix it. This raised red flags to me because they were just replace 6 months prior. I don’t think they knew that I have a strong knowledge of auto mechanics. I then ask to see the car and be shown the faulty ball joints. The inspector raised the front end and I myself proceeded to test the ball joint by moving the tire up and down. There was zero play. The man then moved the tire side to side to show the play that he was talking about. I informed him that he did not lock the steering wheel and that a side movement was only natural. I then held the steering wheel in place and asked to move the tire and it had zero movement. I asked to speak to the owner. The owner then came over and I explained the situation and how I felt that they were scamming me to create more work for themselves. He then proceeded to yell at me and told me to wait in the parking lot in the rain. About ten minutes later my car was backed out of the bay with a rejection sticker on the windshield. After leaving Dear Pond Auto I went straight to another state inspection station. That inspector deemed my vehicle safe in all categories and put a passing sticker on it. He informed me that I was the victim of a scam that Dear Pond has been known for. He informed me that I should call the state inspection hotline to report fraud to hopefully stop Dear Pond from stealing money from other customers.

I have always had a great experience at Deer Pond. From maintenance or just diagnostic examination of the car they do it all. I love the fact that when you get a inspection sticker you get a scratch ticket! They also send you a reminder post card in the mail so you wont forget and get a ticket! Great staff from the office staff who are polite and helpful to the workers in the shop!

We broke down in our motor home on the interstate this summer. We had an awful time trying to find a repair shop that could take us immediately. My husband had to be back to work that Monday. Deer Pond took us in, repaired our motor home and had us back up and running the next day. The business is family run and couldnt be nicer people. The whole shop was very helpful!

Worst place ever! Do not bring your car here. You go in with what you think is one common issue and leave with a headache. They rape your pocket and the business owner does not appreciate his customers! . Trust me and find someone else.

Good for inspection stickers,they have a separate line just for stickers and a nice waiting room with free Keurig coffee machine.The staff is friendly and helpful and you get a fee lottery scratch ticket.
