Ive never liked storage centers. They freak me out and I get nervous about people breaking in and stealing all my valuables that are protected by a wimpy combo lock. I had 2 options when my work decided to keep me traveling across the globe: sell my things or find a storage unit. I didnt want to do either. I came across Extra Space and saw their promotion and decided to check it out. As I was let into a secure office, I thought to myself "this place is legit!" I was welcomed by Dean who sat down with me, learned about my situation and went over a variety of options. He was never forceful with a sales tactic, never forced me to commit that day and answered all my questions flawlessly. Because of how personable he was, I felt like I could really put my trust into using this facility especially if Dean was here managing the property. He really made me feel like he was invested in my property just as much as I was - which is so important to all of us. I highly recommend this facility. I worked with Dean mostly but Matias was great as well. They go above and beyond and that should truly make a difference when youre looking for a clean and safe place to store your valuables...especially in the city. Speaking of city - theres tons of parking too!!

I found Extra Space Storage to be an excellent facility for my storage needs. The staff in the office (Dean is the one who helped me when I arranged my rental) are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I rented a unit at this location to temporarily store some things during the transition to a smaller apartment. The unit was clean and dry. (My unit was on the ground floor, making it extra easy to access.) The facility is clean and well designed. Theres a garage entrance that provides indoor parking for loading/unloading and there is also a side-entrance to allow entering on foot. I found this convenient from time to time when I wanted to pick-up just a few things. The location of this storage facility was good for me - about a mile from my apartment. When it came time to close my account I found it was an easy and straightforward process. The same for opening the account. All in all, this Extra Space Storage facility is an excellent choice both in terms of the service they provide and the condition of the storage units and facility.

Ill start by saying that Ive used this facility for a couple of years while I have been in school and I generally think its a nice facility. Its clean and convenient indoor storage and Ive generally had a good experience. That being said, I wont be back. This year I was working with movers and wasnt sure when I was going to be moving out of the unit, so I waited to provide notice until I was sure I would be out. That turned out to be a big mistake because they billed me for the month one day before I provided notice and I was stuck paying for the entire month despite having nothing in the unit and no lock on the door. Now that normally wouldnt be a problem but they absolutely refused to pro-rate me at all for the month. So I got stuck paying $220 for a unit I will never use and that they will probably end up renting out. It really left a bad taste in my mouth.

I researched and called several storage facilities in the Boston area, and not only was Extra Space competitive on price, they were also most professional on the phone. Upon visiting, I was sold. It is clean, well-lit and well-maintained, secure (pin pad entry) and convenient (up to 10pm). Dean was the manager and he was patient, pleasant and professional. I also liked the 2 entrances - one is outdoors and suitable for large trucks to pull right up to and unload, and the other is within the building (with garage doors for security) so if its snowing or raining, you and your car and stuff stay dry! Several cars can park in the indoor area so there was never a problem. And because of the 2 entrances, you never have to walk far inside as you just choose the entrance closer to your unit. A great set-up!

I couldnt have been happier with my experience with Extra Space Storage. I needed storage for a couple months while I was traveling and between apartments. From calling to find out about units to setting up my account, everyone I spoke to was incredibly polite and professional. Dean and Matthias made storing my stuff the easiest part of my move. They have packing and storage materials for sale right in the office- not quite as cheap as if youre planning ahead and order from Amazon, but a real lifesaver if you need a last minute mattress bag or plastic wrap. The storage unit itself was incredibly clean, felt safe, and was well temperature-controlled. The indoor parking area for loading/unloading was a real benefit for a winter move. I wouldnt hesitate to use this facility again in the future.

Extra Space Storage on Somerville Ave. in Somerville was a really fantastic experience. My wife and I decided to rent a 5x10 space with them on a month-to-month lease when we moved to a smaller apartment. The rental rates were competitive, the space was super clean and well-lit, and management was super helpful with any questions we had throughout the entire process. We were afforded 24-hour access to our storage, which was great. Be sure to speak with a manager when youre ready to move out so that you can go through the necessary steps to get a pro-rated amount refunded to you for the unused portion of your final month. Really great experience - wed definitely recommend Extra Space to everyone without reservation.

I would like to share with everybody how great of an experience I had at this specific location, both managers were there and they were both so nice and friendly. Very helpful had an answer to every question I had, the manager let the assistants manger Raynel improve his customer service skills by helping me choose the right storage while the manager is getting all the details ready for me. It didnt take much time for me to get set up, I felt comftarble and not like I was getting ripped off. Really appreciate employees like this, would definitely give this team 5 stars! Very pleased would recommend this place to all my friends and family who have storage needs, thanks you very much.
