I believe most of these reviews are fraudulent. I went here to get an overheating issue diagnosed and fixed on my vehicle. I had told the people that a really needed my vehicle running as I am a single mother of 4 young children. I believe saying how badly i needed the vehicle was my first problem. I also explained that i was on a budget. Believing the rave 5 star reviews on google led me to this "budget friendly" place. Anyways they told me they needed to "diagnose" the problem. 61$ it cost. They told me i needed a new radiator that mine was "clogged". Then they told me 730$ to fix it! I thought ok I am gonna call a few places. Well I found a new radiator at a radiator shop for 132$. Ok then I found a shop to put it in for 150, this new shop said they didnt think it was radiator (the guy who works at the radiator shop also said in his 7 years of work hes never heard of a clogged radiator but he HESITANTLY sold it to me stating that he did not want me wasting my money on a potentially unnecessary reapir). Well total was about 280$ to fix. Which was 450$ CHEAPER that budget brakes lol. anyways like the mechanic and the radiator man said guess what? NOT EVEN the radiator, it still overheated after a brand new radiator installed. Turns out it was the thermostat which was under 20 bucks for the part and about 15 minutes time to install. Thank god I did not pay budget brakes 730$. unfortunately I did listen to there TERRIBLE diagnoses and Im out 280$ in unnecessary repairs plus the 61 dollars that budget brakes charged for their crappy diagnoses. WOMEN BEWARE i think they tried to take advantage that I was a woman assuming i knew nothing about vehicles or prices for repair. I would not recommend this place at all. Oh and funny thing is they acted like 730$ was only because the way the manufacturer designed my vehicle.They even made a joke that I could thank the manufacturer for the high repair price. and i dont own foreign, its not that complicated. I believe this place makes its money on people who they believe dont know anything about cars. As i said BEWARE.

Very disappointed in this shop. Ive done business with them before and was pleased with their service. However, August 30th 2016, I took my 2001 Ford Econoline Van to them. I explained that as I was filling the van up with gas, it was leaking out underneath. I already knew what the problem was, that the filler neck fuel hose needed replaced. On older vehicles, they occasionally go bad and leak. I get a call that not only does my filler neck fuel hose needed replaced, but that I also needed a new gas tank. The cost for the job was $1,800.00. Wow! I ask why they thought I needed a new gas tank when it was fine. I was told he saw moisture from gas around the seams of the tank. I told him that was the result of the fuel leaking unto the tank from the hole that was in the filler neck. They thought otherwise. So, I took my van to Dan & Chuck Kar Kare at 6 mile at Inkster that same day. Sure enough, I ONLY NEEDED a filler neck fuel hose. The cost? $298.00. I know at times I might look like a sucker, but I try not to think like one. Very disappointed. Not ever planning on going back to Budget Brakes.

Took my truck in today for an alignment after I called yesterday. They called me a couple hours later and said they cant align my truck because it wouldnt fit on the rack, ok no big deal it was an honest mistake. When I went to pick it up the nice gentleman at the counter tried to offer me $20 towards my time...I didnt accept it because it just wouldnt be right of me. Get in my truck to leave and my check engine lights on, so I check my diagnostic codes and come up with an vehicle over speed fault That wasnt there before. Naturally I called them to find out if my truck was test drove(I already knew it was) and they verified that it had been. So evidently their technician that test drove my truck decided to hot rod it and max out my RPMs, my turbos, or smoke the tires on my truck...not a real great thing to do with a high dollar diesel motor. Unfortunately because of this I couldnt recommend this shop...right now Im just hoping that I dont have any engine or rearend damage at this point.

Took my 2008 Dodge Caravan for stuck caliper. They diagnosed issue was a pinched break line, fixed. Then advised me my front struts, rear shocks and stabalizer bar needed replacement. Then tried to sell me on a trans flush, radiator flush, power steering flush. Long story short wanted over $3K to fix! Advised shop that i also had a clunking noise in right rear, they stated rear caliper needed to be replaced. Didnt price check and advised to fix struts, shocks and stabalizer, charged over $1.5K. Then a week later vehicle starts clunking and making a lot of noise, took to another mechanic and they never tightened my sway bar links!!! Plus mechanic at other shop advised if they would have completed repairs would have only been $800.00 out the door. The new Mecahnic fixed their errors as well as the rear clunking which was just a clip, not the whole caliper! $10.00 replacement!!!! Outrageous pricing and shady work. Will not go again.

BAD EXPERIENCE...BUYER BEWARE... A chubby guy named Chris (who smelled like dirty laundry) gave me an estimate for $900 to replace my front brakes. (This was after the inspection per comment below) He insisted that I needed more than just brakes and would give an additional figure once the job was torn down. Not having been born yesterday, I took my car and went on down the road to an HONEST shop where I had my brake job done for $150 and no additional work was needed. I am positive that all the good reviews on this site are bogus. Ive spoken to several people and 8 out of the 10 had negative things to say about this establishment and the crook kids that run the business. STAY AWAY.

If you are looking for outstanding service @ a reasonable price, this is the place to go. I was referred to this shop several years ago by Discount Tire also on Middlebelt Rd in Livonia, and I have been going there ever since. My issues have always been accurately diagnosed and resolved the first time around. I highly recommend that you give them a try. Im sure you wont be disappointed! I had my car serviced there just yesterday for an oil change, heater that went cold during idling and a loud muffler. I left there in a warm, quiet, smooth riding car with improved gas mileage. My car always uses less gas when it is in top working condition. It was a win win situation for me.

Cant say enough... Joe, Chris, Matt, and Nick, Thank you all for the fantastic job you all completed on my Chevelle! Told these guys I was in a time crunch getting my car back on the road, and they delivered. I cant say enough good about this shop and the people that run it. They did exactly what I needed done and exceeded my expectations. Anytime the owner of a company will take it upon himself to leave his business to track down missing parts (which was not any fault of theirs) to complete a job to accommodate a customer..this is the best customer service anyone could ask for. I appreciate all you guys and will spread the word to anyone I come across needing work.
