Watch out Dave is shady. So I took my Jeep in to have some warranty repair work done on a shifter cable. During the repair some of my airbags got deployed while still in the shop. Well my first instinct is what happened to cause them to deploy. The mechanic told me that it wasn’t their fault and that they just deployed while they were hooking the battery up. The dealership I took it to found evidence that the Control Module for the airbags had been removed recently. There were fresh marks on the bolts that hold it in place. The mechanic, Dave, stated that it couldn’t have possibly been his employee because he stated you can take a sledge hammer to the unit and it wouldn’t deploy. He also said that because the airbag light was on they should not have deployed. Well the airbag light was on due to one of the tensioners for the seat belts having an issue unrelated to the airbag system. He also stated that the sensors for the airbags are what deploy them, and not the control unit. Well guess what, there is a recall on the control unit for reprogramming. They have to be reprogrammed because they "deploy" the airbags "too slow" in the event of a rollover. And yes you read that right. You can verify with Chrysler, it’s a 2010 Jeep Patriot. Just look up recalls on it involving the airbag system. A year ago the dealership told me there was a similar incident where their technician accidentally left a key on and removed the control unit. “Another 2010 Patriot” When he did this it deployed all the airbags in that vehicle. Dave tried to strong arm to agree to all this, and even tried to get me to go to another dealership and tell them that the airbags deployed because “I” put in a new battery. Apparently after I took it in a code came up that I had a low voltage issue with my Battery. But this code didn’t appear until it was already in the shop. Guess what, it appeared about the same mileage count as my airbags got deployed at. The dealership showed me a printout of the codes and the mileage they first appeared at. Also, Dave mentioned to me on the phone that he wasnt actually "in the shop" when this happened. He was at home eating spaghetti with his girlfriend. He lives off Walton Blvd Between Sashabaw and Clintonville. He had to "rush" over when his mechanic called him and told him about it. Quite a distance away from his shop on the complete opposite end of the city to "know" every detail of what happened in his shop. Takes me at least 25 minutes to get from his home to his shop without traffic. So all in all, I was without my Jeep from the beginning of September to mid-October. I still had to pay my car payments, and my insurance bill, but I was without a vehicle this whole time. Also, one thing Dave made sure to mention to me while he was covering his tracks, was that he could have just stuffed the airbags back up into the headliner and I never would have known the difference. He stated this to me several times. Who says something like this? Only someone trying to cover their tracks. The worst part, I got my insurance company involved to get it fixed. The total bill was over $3000 in damages. Of this amount I had to pay $620 because of the deductible and cost to have the dealership inspect it. This money came out of “my” pocket due to the error “Dave’s” mechanic made. Stay away from this place. If they screw up, they will screw you in the process.

I am picky about my car (or so I thought) so I bought my own oil and filter and even a drain plug and took it here to have the oil changed. There are two men working there, Dave and Greg. Dave is always behaving as if he doesnt want your business and is bothered by you bringing your car to them. Since all they had to do was labor, he said itll be $10, which is fine with me, and for them, too, considering they charge $17 for a regular oil change which includes oil and filter. My car takes a filter cartridge which goes inside a housing. I asked them to change the o-ring (which is supposed to be changed each time filter is changed) and Dave wasnt happy. Instead of looking for the o-ring inside the filter housing, like I asked him to do, he went and snapped another gasket off the oil pan, and then tried to put the new o-ring in the wrong place (not inside the filter housing, like I asked them to do) because he knows what to do... . He left and Greg took over. Greg is much nicer as a person, but I dont think hes worked at a garage for too long. He finished putting the filter and oil in and, low and behold, the filter leaked oil. Then he emptied the new oil into an empty cat litter bucket and tried to install the o-ring again (still wrong place). Poured in oil from the bucket. I am VERY worried my engined will be completed damaged because the oil is dirty with cat litter particles! After I left, they ordered a new filter cause they thought the o-ring that came with my more expensive K&N filter wasnt the right one. I went to pick up the car this morning and Dave, sporting an attitude again, charged me double, charged me for a quart of extra oil (which was lost from their mistake) and wanted to charge me for the extra filter they ordered without my permission. In conclusion, they dont even know how to change oil - Im afraid to take my car there for any other more complicated issues!

THIS PLACE SAVED ME A TON OF MONEY---WELL DONE!!! What a pleasure it is to find an HONEST business these days---especially mechanics!!! I definitely recommend that you stop wasting hundreds of your hard earned dollars at dealerships and take your car to this garage! Heres what happened: I had just purchased a pretty decent Chevy Equinox about a month and a half earlier. Then the heat went out on it. After a few weeks driving around freezing my ears off, I called the dealership. They said it may cost 200.00 and I would have to pay an $85.00 diagnostic fee. Since I had just brought the car and pay for half a years insurance, this was bad news! I drive by Waterford Garage daily and I decided to check them out after reading the other great reviews. I took my car in and they called me a few hours later at my job: "Maam, there is a technical bullitan out on your car--its like a recall. I cant take your money for a repair like this---your dealer should do it for free" So they printed up the bulletin and off I went to my dealership. Of course their eyes glazed over and they started to throw figures at me. I whipped out my paper from Waterford Garage and they shut up and got it done for nothing! THANK YOU HONEST GOOD GUYS at WATERFORD GARAGE!!!!!! They could have taken my money and not said a thing----a lot of other shops would have too. I had them do a few other minor repairs and they were speedy and thorough and charged me a fair price. They even had a nice young man drop me off at my house. Take my word---they are great! My husband and I even brought them lunch to show our appreciation:) The Andersons
