Overall a decent rental facility. Although, there were a number of catches throughout the process. When I initially rented the unit (online) the description was for a outside unit, but the pricing was for an inside unit. After agreeing to pay additional for an outside unit so I could accommodate my larger items we moved our items in. Shortly after the rental rate was increased, however having a 10x15 unit filled it would have been an inconvenience to move to another facility. This year, they accidentally marked my unit as vacated and called me while we were out on vacation to question why a lock was still on the unit. After getting this straightened out, apparently human error. I decided it was time to get my items out of storage, and prepared to have a garage sale, however with out notice to customers, every Isle of the facility had construction during a 3 day period. When asked why they wouldnt notify their customers (at least ones with email) I was told no units were fully blocked. The units may not have been but the construction crew was not very accommodating and had different paths blocked each time. over 2 days I spent more than 45 minutes waiting on construction and turning around to find a way out.

Listen when you are told to cover your couch and mattresses! I learned a big lesson. February marked my start of storage for the first time. I moved out of my space a couple weeks ago and I now regret not listening when I was told to cover my items with covers, a small $28 investment could have saved me from headaches and $$ being tossed to the wind. My space had a ton of them little cotton fuzz things in it and needless to say do did my items. I had to have my couch professionally cleaned, which cost $75.00, and had to buy a allergy type mattress cover which cost a whopping $99.00. My furniture was about 10 months old and I cant afford to buy more. This solution worked, but if I would have listened when the manager (her name is Joyce) showed me boxes, paper for my dishes and covers, I told her I was fine. Well I have learned a valuable lesson. Joyce, you were right! Cover your stuff with the plastic covers they sell. And If I ever store again, I will follow the advise of the people who work there. Thanks again for keeping my "junk" safe for the last 5 months.

Inaccessible during the winter. Attempted to get into my rented unit several times through out the winter months only to find the lot not accessible due to lack of snow plowing, frozen entry gates and 6" thick ice encasing the unit door. My rate was raised two months into the rental, I paid an exorbitant amount of money and feel it was no where near equivalent to the service/product received. There were several occasions when I attempted to make it into my unit and could not even get through the property drive ways because they had barely cleared a vehicle width of space. The unit itself was acceptable however the price and limited access make it two stars. On top of that, when I was finally able to clear the 6" of ice on my own (they told me they did not have salt or a means to open the unit door) I moved out on my scheduled date, but received a bill a few days later without any indication of what it was for. Since it was only a couple of $, I just paid to be done with this place. Not satisfied, would not rent there again.

We retired after being in business over 20 years and we had a locker at Public Storage in Madison Heights about the same amount of time. We sold our business in 2009 and decided to close out our storage locker Oct 02-2013. Brandie helped make this a great experience. She answered all of our questions and told us we would be missed. You see we would just drop in to say hello to the staff at the Public Storage in Madison Heights. They treated us like family and Brandie did the same today even though today was the first time she meet us. If we ever need to rent a locker we will return to PS in MH. Thank you Brandie you are very up to date with your job and you answered all of our questions and helped make this an easy task. Take Care and You all at Public Storage in Madison Heights will be missed. Dont be surprised when you see us walk through your doors just to say hi. Joyce and everyone we talked to were extremely helpful. We had items to store at the last minute and they had a unit available. We were heading out of town and would need the items eventually, they answered our questions and worked with us as we coordinated times for a truck to be dropped off and picked up a few days later. A truck was delivered, left on site, to be packed over an upcoming weekend. We set up a time to be back to pack up our storage unit over that weekend. Joyce and team were extremely accommodating in helping us have the truck placed and left on their property so that it was accessible to us and not an inconvenience for other customers. They were available, accommodating and always professional in helping us with our needs. We highly recommend this location and would use them again in the future. -Mike

I have all my office and work papers stored here and use it when I need to sort stuff or go through paperwork. I was pretty upset when my price got raised over $20 within my first few months. Joyce is a good manager. Fair, understanding, and sometimes a little strick with those of use there too often. HOWEVER.. I came in to pay my past due bill today and Andy (he also works at the 10/Deq PS) was there. Dealt with him at the other location last year. He has one of the best customer service skills that Ive ever ever seen. Meant to write a review last time and forgot like I do with EVERY review. I was impressed enough to make sure I instantly spent 5 min to write this review to let his bosses know that they have a great employee there. Thanks Andy!

I had a unit here from August - February. I had originally moved out in January but mistakenly took my key to my new location so I kept it an additional month. As I was closing out my account. The young lady there (I didnt get her name, but she was African American and fair skinned) was extremely wrong and defensive regarding her incorrect math. She talked very nasty and disrespectful, only to be WRONG, and to have my problem fixed by her coworker Andy. Andy apologized several times for her attitude and I have tried contacting the district and store managers to no avail. So the next step is corporate. My experience setting up my unit was totally fine and I had no issues there until dealing with her.

When I came into this place with my sister we felt welcomed and genuinely surrounded by good people. I was very pleased with Joyce outstanding customer service. Shes such a good person. She gave me a nice tour around the entire place and rode around in the buggy. She definitely helped me narrowed down my options so that I will choose the right storage unit that was right for me. The place saved me time, money and was very convenient. My overall experience at this location was great, the staff is great and my expectations were met! Also, this place is clean and well organized which is a plus. I rate this place 5 stars! I would highly recommend this public storage location to anyone.
