I called the office on Friday afternoon, reserved a 10 x 10 space, went in Saturday morning---yes open on Saturday all day!!!!-spoke with a very nice lady who did our paperwork and gave us a code within 10 minutes all the while pleasant. Storage units are clean, easy to pull up to, well light at night, and secure here. This was not a planned move. I called several other places in the area as well. One offered us a storage space at a lower rate over an hour away with the same company, think bait and switch. One offered us a storage unit on the second floor--"just rent our cart for an additional $19.95 for 2 hours". Sure we want to move a sofa from a second floor apartment to a u-haul and then move it to a second floor storage unit. NOT!!!! Extra Space Storage helped to make it as easy on us as possible.

ESS would have long ago been a distant memory if it werent for the local staff. Barb and Sara are beyond wonderful. Theyre both so accommodating and efficient that I could never pick a favorite, and they make my storage space easy. Ive seen other ESS across the country, and this location is head and shoulders above the others. ALWAYS clean. ALWAYS well run and well managed BY AMERICANS. ALWAYS helpful, and provides good guidance. They go the extra mile. Please dont think Im praising the entire company, but this staff deserves the highest honors, and has never failed to please me in my ~6 year history at this location in Southgate Michigan. I couldnt be treated better if I were family, but Im just a renter. Dont rent here because its ESS, rent here because of the people.

We needed short term storage while we had our basement remodeled and chose this storage facility to check out because of its location. The employees were friendly and helpful, explained everything we needed to know and had boxes we could purchase at a great price. The facility was clean and well maintained. We have been having a tough winter here in Michigan and even with all the snow, the facility was always accessable and plowed. We cant stress enough how much we enjoyed this experience. We only needed the storage for a few months and it was worth every penny we spent. We also appreciated the ability to make our payments online every month. Keep up the good work!

I have had a unit with Southgate Extra Space Storage for about 6 monthes now. The units are very spacious and deffinatley a bang for your buck! They are reasonably priced! The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The hours benefit everyone with gates open until 10pm. I also really like feeling safe and knowing that my items are safe. The security cameras are great and always being monitonered. I would deffinatley recomend Southgate Extra Space Storage to anyone in search of a storage facitily!

I looked at many facilitys and let me tell you this was the cleanest one in the area. I will not have a problem putting my items here as well as being CLEAN the manager Ms Barbara made us feel right at home see knows her business and explained everything in detail down to the restroom keys lol. The place is even big enough for the moving trucks to get in and out. So anyone looking for STORAGE this is the place. Thank you Ms Barbara for all your help and we will be moving in around the 15th........

Clean facility. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Easy to find. Easy to use. I was impressed. I have now used it for 4 months and am moving on. Barb and Sara are awesome! They are unfailingly pleasant, helpful and informative. From our first contact thru today, could not look for better customer service. I recommend this place to everyone I know, whether for a short stay or a longer one. Complete peace of mind and a fair price. LOVE THEM!

I chose Extra Space Storage for security (electric gates, camera monitors, employees on site, daily patrols) and cleanliness (well maintained units, issues quickly addressed). What I also got was wonderful friendly, helpful and caring people who made the stressful time of moving so much easier. Recommended them to a friend who is now also a customer. Excellent!

I have had a storage unit with them for over 2 yrs now and I have never had a problem - the facility is very clean, a good upkeep and the employees are friendly and helpful. I made some referrals to some friends about Extra Space even in different areas than my own since I have no problems. The hard work definitely shows!

Barb was absolutely awesome. She answered the phone right away and was able to set me up with a unit within 25 minutes of my arrival! She was so friendly and professional. My aunt and both grandparents also have units here and have for 8+ years! So safe and convenient. I highly recommend these storage units.

Southgate / Allen Road facility. Office staff (Barb) are very friendly and extremely helpful. Storage units look good and are kept up. The grounds/ pavement is smooth and well maintained. It also has an available restroom that is kept clean.
