If I was able to label the quality of service I received working with Woods, it would be far less than "poor - fair." Dont take your vehicle here unless you want to be cheated and belittled the entire time. About a month ago, I called Woods because my husband and I thought that his fuel pump was going bad. We arent mechanics, but with an old truck, it seemed legitimate. I told this suspicion to the service manager, Mike, who told me that would absolutely not be the problem with the symptoms being produced. Because he was a mechanic, I trusted him. After two hours of diagnosis (nearly $200), we were told it was something else, but we were missing the catalytic converter and to work on any part of the exhaust system it needed to be replaced. With this estimate, we did not want them to go further with the job, but were still curious about if they checked the fuel pump. When I asked, they said, "well, yeah, thats the first thing we check with that problem." Mike belittled me the entire time I worked with him, and after all of that, we found out the problem with the truck had nothing to do with the exhaust system, but instead was the distributor gear. So, I was given the wrong diagnosis yet had to pay the ridiculous diagnosis fee because they dont know what they are doing. Once again, just avoid Woods Marathon if you can, and if you cant, simply avoid Mike at all costs, especially if you are a woman.

worst service ever, the driver was rude.......there was AAA insurance ( covers the cost) and he only wanted to unlock the car and refuse to jump start the truck......during the whole time I did not raise my voice once, but the driver was very rude and he raised his voice the whole time. At one point I asked him if I disrespected him in any way shape or form, he ignore my question and kept on racing his voice....I called wood towing shop in okemos , typical answer from the manager when he gets done with his shift we will talk to him"...........as much as they charge for towing and all other services I though they spend some money in customer service classes.....

Needed a car towed and instead of towing to a dealer for repair I had auto towed to them for them to repair. Service for towing was good. Service/Information provided by mechanic was great. For the first time using them for repair will not hesitate to use again or recommend them. Reason for not a 5 Star is total bill cost. They need to work on communication for billing. A customer should never have to speak with two people for a total bill. When calling a customer back cost given to customer should include both towing and repair service if both were used. Or should considered waving the towing cost if repair services are completed thru them.

I had a flat tire and AAA sent Okemos Marathon to come and help me. The worker was extremely polite and patient with me. We couldnt find a tool that was vehicle specific and he worked around it to ensure we had it taken care of. He also let me know if I came back to the shop they would fix my tire for a low rate. When I got to the shop every single employee I came across was exceptionally helpful and polite. They made a stressful and annoying part of my day a lot better. Im not from around here but if I was this would be my go to gas and service station.

Recently I took my 20 year-old Ranger pickup in for oil change and Mike the mechanic noticed some serious rust-through on front end suspension. To replace the parts would have cost more than the truck was worth. But, Mike recommended taking it to Bannish Welding to ask if the parts could be reinforced by welding on plates. This was done for $350 and allowed me to keep the truck on the road. This is another example of great advice and great service from experts with many years experience in the Lansing area, and who care about their customers.

I went in to the dealership for an oil change and was told that my inner tie rod needed replacing. The quote was for over $1200. When I questioned why I had to replace my rack and pinion too when all I needed was one inner tie rod, I was told that it was a package that the manufacturer sent out and the dealership had to replace all of it at the same time. So I called Woods Marathon in Okemos. I now have a new tie rod and the total bill was $252. I saved $1000 by not using the dealerships repair shop. Thank you Okemos Marathon!

I have taken my car to this service center twice and have been extremely satisfied with my experience! The mechanics (Mike, Doug, and Darrol) knew exactly what the issues were with my vehicle and quoted me very fair and reasonable pricing for the services that were needed. They didnt tack on any extra unnecessary repairs or costs, which represented their exceptional work ethic and outstanding customer service! I will be visiting them for all of my future auto needs and highly recommend them for all of your vehicle needs!

$44 for chassis inspection. ( Firestone with a coupon takes $15-$20 ) Estimate was $500 for replacing 2 ball joints. ( ball joints $200, labor $300 ) - p.s. ball joints not OEM. Im glad I know that OEM ball joints are $20. so its x10 more original OEM price! To replace them its 20min per ball joint. $300 ?! are you sick ?! A guy whos all dirty and oily - not even tried to cover the seats while driving my car. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Avoid this place!

I am an MSU professor. I have relied on Woods Marathon for over 25 years to provide all service for my cars and pickup. The quality and service has always been excellent. The mechanics have provided great advice and provided alternatives. This is a wonderful family run, independent small business that is highly respected and trusted in the community. I have sent many friends and colleagues here and they have all been satisfied.

I will NEVER use this place again. I needed my car towed and requested a flatbed not only once but 3 times, I come to find out they didnt use a flatbed to tow my car for 60 miles!!!!!! Not only that but the man who picked my car up was very rude and didnt seem to want to answer any of my questions. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Horrible service.
