In fact... dont go to any Tires Plus. Ive been to a few and always have the same experience: quote low, bill high, try to up-sell, and try to "fix" things that arent broke or worn out! Ill be more specific... Front tires on my Kia were getting bald (cupping bad on the outside). Took it to Tires Plus in Apple Valley and said I just wanted two front tires, stock size, nothing fancy. Halfway through the job they talk to me about how they did an inspection and the front left tie rod end was worn out and the rear left wheel bearing was loose. Now Im no stranger to working on cars and know exactly what parts these are and how to fix them myself. I said No Thanks to having them repaired and asked "did you take off the dust cap on the back and inspect the castle nut to see if it had backed out or was loose?" They assured me they had checked that and it needed to be fixed. I still declined, said I would check it myself, then paid for the tires, and went home. Laying under the car I inspected the tire rod end myself; tight as could be. Had my wife turn the steering wheel back and forth as I watched the tie rods and steering... everything looked fine! I put on tens of thousands of miles after that day and still never had issues with tie rod ends or any other steering component. Jacked up the rear, took off the back left tire, and looked at the dust cap over the castle nut... NO signs of being removed (its pretty obviouse when you remove these things). Popped off the cap and saw the original, dirty, grease and no sign that anyone had removed any grease to even see the castle nut. I removed the grease and inspected the castle nut (theres a clear indicator telling you if its moved at all from where it should be) and it was FINE; tight as ever! Repacked with grease and put the cap back on... I thought "ok... MAYBE they told me the wrong side..." So I did the same on the other side.... same thing... no signs of being inspected, castle nut right where it should be, tight as could be. Checked to see if there was any side-to-side play on the wheels and they were tight. Not only did they try to scam me out of several hundred dollars they made me waste 2 hours of my own damn time inspecting things that were JUST FINE! This is NOT the only time Ive had this happen to me at Tires Plus; the one in Eagan does the same crap. My brother was scammed by the Tires Plus in Apple Valley as well. I wont even get tires at Tires Plus now and hope they implode!

Originally, I went with my wife to have a tire repaired at the Apple Valley Tires Plus Store. Our problems started when the technician first couldnt find the leak. Then they (technician and manager) suggested the tire was "cut" longitudinally about 1 1/2 inches in length. I informed them that the leak we were experiencing was very slow, and couldnt possibly be the result of a cut tire. I suggested they remove the tire from the rim and look from the inside out. They then saw a staple portruding through the tire. At that point, they said they couldnt repair the leak, and that our tires were nearing replacement, and that we should really consider buying a new set. I asked them if they had tires on hand to buy, and after checking, they indicated that they would have to be ordered in. It seemed we were stuck. But, upon further discussion with the technician, the reason TP could not repair the tire is that they did not have the appropriate patch on hand to do the work. I then asked the manager if he could order the patch, since he obviously could not sell me a new set of tires that day. He did so. The tire was successfully patched. We paid our bill, ~$32, and were on our way. About 1/3 of a mile from the store, we heard a loud clunk. We pulled over and inspected the repaired tire. It had thrown the weights used to balance the tire on the rim. Ultimately, we had to go to another competitor store to have the tire properly balanced and pay an additional $10. They confirmed that the tire was completely out of balance. Upon complaining to TP about the service, they responded by saying they had no record of the transaction to originally repair our tire. As a result, our credit card refunded our money (the original $32). We are now looking for new tires for our car, and ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT consider shopping at Tires Plus (any location). We will gladly pay more to not deal with crooks, like the ones at the Apple Valley Tires Plus location. Talk about attempting to pull the oldest scam in the book!!!!

We had front and back brakes done at Eagan location (see their review on their page). The brakes wouldnt stop pulsating and Eagan said to let the new brakes get worn in but it wouldnt stop so I finally took it to AV Tires Plus because Eagan is rude as can be. What happened at AV was a series of weekends without our car. They just kept cutting the rotors and it would be fine for a few weeks and then they sold us a pair of rotors and the car was fine for a few weeks and then it would pulsate again and then they tried to sell us another set of rotors and I talked with Brad White the store manager and he bought that set which I thought was a reasonable thing to do since they kept machining the rotors until there wasnt anything left. Now the brakes seem to be catching in the back on the drivers side. When I apply the brake it squeals and when I let it off it still squeals for a bit. I dropped it off overnight, they did an oil change and never called so I called them this afternoon and they said they cant find anything and that I should take it to the dealership. Wow, they cant fix their own work so now I have to pay the dealer to re-do it? I told them to have the store manager call me because they say this to me every time Im there. Their communication always sounds like these few phrases: "Well, Im not pointing fingers but we cant account for how you drive the car" To which I always reply that the original brakes lasted me 60,000 miles so your brakes should last more than a few months. "We cant find anything, you should go to the dealer and try to get your money back from the Eagan location" I dont think they have the skill there. I just dont think they are competent and Im not sure how they stay in business. Ill post what Brad White has to say.

I want to start this review by saying I used to go to the Tires Plus location in Grand Forks ND for years with no problems, however I recently moved to AV and figured I would continue going to TP for tire rotations, new tires, oil changes, etc. I scheduled my appt. for 1:00 and was told it would be done by 2:00, I was getting my tires rotated and an oil change. My car was not taken back to the garage until 1:40. At 2:30 a technician came to inform me that AFTER they drained my old oil, they realized they were out of the oil needed to replace it and said they would order the new oil ASAP and it would only take an additional 15 minutes. Ok, fine, I am a patient person. However, when 3:00 rolled around I asked to speak to the manager, but was told he was busy and that my car would be done "soon". At 3:15 they called my name and said "everythings ready" and had me pay, but when I asked where my keys were he said they were still working on my oil change and it would be another 10 minutes. At 3:45 I had reached my limit of patience for the day and asked for the manager again. I explained that I had been there for almost FOUR HOURS for an oil change and rotation, and the technician made me pay when my vehicle wasnt even close to done. I must say, the manager did an excellent job trying to make me happy, he refunded my money and gave me a coupon for a free oil change, but honestly FOUR HOURS of my day wasted was not worth it. I would not recommend this location, they "earned" one star because it was free but like I said, I would rather have paid the 40 bucks and been in and out in an hour like they promised.
