OK, yall.... everyones entitled to their experience, but gotta say, ive been there 2x(this saturday will be the third) and never been more satisfied. was referred by a friend who goes there, and im GLAD he did. All the guys there are nice, friendly and considerate of your vehicle(i like that they wrap my seat before they get it..). I am always fortunate to get to deal with Rob Forrest, the Mgr there, and hes kind and patient and explains everything needed and done, for those of us not mechanically inclined, to my satisfaction. 1st visit = Brake Job; the dealer was trying to Jack me, telling me i needed Full brakes at roughly $800.00+... that ive worn down the pads and rotars to dangerous levels(b.s., im a conservative breaker) - Rob took my car in, propped it up and told me my front brakes are barely worn and that my rear pads did need replacing and that my rotars had minor wear/warping/bluing(all of which he corrected w/minor grinding) and suggested the high density/impact Ceramic pads. Rob hooked me up, got it done in less time than projected and way less $$ than the dealer wouldve done for regular brakes. AND compd me a tire rotation. 2nd visit = 60k mile servicing; I drive a VW TDI, so it requires all kind of fussy things.. No WAY would I take it to the dealer. they wanted over $700.00. Rob came through once again -- way cheaper. VW requires special synthetic oil be used. Midas apparently doesnt carry the same brand, but carries a MN made product thats just as good if not better and cheaper; Rob explained this to me when I dropped it off, I Okayed it and left for breakfast. When he called me to let me know the work was complete, he expalined to me that he re-read all VWs guidelines and because VW strongly recommends a particular oil, Rob went out and Bought That Brand.... and didnt charge me any extra!!!!!! Now, if you dont think thats good customer service, you dont know what customer service is my friend. Its Not just getting things for free; thats the Least of it; its the going the Extra Mile for your customer and ensuring theyre comfortable with whats going on with their vehicle. Rob and the rest of the team at this Midas have that in Surplus! 3rd visit = This Saturday; New Tires!!!! Rob took the time to show me why I was going to need them, something about wear-bars..... and gave me a Great Quote. Im astute enough to do my due diligence, and hes comparable to some and Beating others. Who do you thinks going to continue to get my business??? Rob, at the Midas on 7th/35E in St. Paul! Looking Forward to it! W

First thing - AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! Friendly and funny! I had called the day before going about inspecting my brake pads, due to the sound it was making after I release the brakes and an oil change. Said that I could stop earlier the next day (7:30 am is open) and drop off my car so they can inspect it. Arrived earlier, than open, a worker saw me outside and welcomed me in. A clean waiting room, too. He explained to me that it may not be the break pads but a common occurrence for this model. (Ended up just needing to clean and adjust the rear) While it was at the Midas, I also got a call about their overall inspection of the car. They explained what they recommended and why they recommended it (which I thought was reasonable). And they only work with what you confirmed, which I agreed to (since I didnt need new brake pads, they did clean and adjust the rear - so far its been good, I was planning to get most of the other things done before the snow - they did a good job too, after the alignment and adjustments it was so much smoother.) Called me before noon to tell me my car was ready for pick up. When I came to pick up my car, the technician (who was walking pass) also informed me of a particular part he was worried about, but said it still had life and that I shouldnt worry about it yet...it was my wheel bearing (which I dont doubt, sigh...the symptoms fit). They also gave me a quote of how much it would cost, since I asked. Overall I am satisfied with my experience.

About 4 days ago I used the Midas website to set up an appointment to have my car looked at because my car would vibrate any time I drove over 65 mph. When I came in for my appointment the attendant (cant remember his name) checked his computer and said he needed my keys. He came back about 10 minutes later and said my car looked pretty good but the air filter was really dirty so I decided to replace it. He came back about 15 minutes later and said my car was good to go and that it was about $49 for the oil change and the air filter..okay. So I told him I didnt request an oil change. He looked surprised (and a little embarrassed I should add) and asked what kind of service I had originally requested. I told him about the vibration when driving over 65 mph and he said, "Gosh, Im sorry I guess." I have to say he was very nice and polite, but really? That is all he had to say? He didnt even offer any kind of solution for this "misunderstanding." Instead he just tried to reassure me that my car looked pretty good. And even suggested that the vibration may be due to the fact that my tires may need a balance...Really??? So why did he not check to see if my tires needed to be balanced?? I mean that is the reason why I brought my car there in the first place! So yeah, I ended up paying for an air filter and an oil change that I didnt request...never again.

It is not often you run into a shop of this caliber. Repeatedly, they have done the right thing and even gone "above and beyond the call" on many occasions. More than once, when they worked on one of my cars, if something got damaged in the process, they fixed it for free and without grumbling about it. They also back up their work. I had to have them look at something after they had fixed it and they took care of the repair and even the tow. Wow. I have to say that any shop that can put up with my demands (and sometimes rather vocal complaints) is a keeper in my book. I have only found a few places this good. When they fix your car, it stays fixed. When they say it will cost a certain amount they are never far off the mark if at all. They have given me alternatives at times and cost-effective repairs and for me to say that I cant complain is really saying something. If you want your car serviced, in a timely manner and for a fair price, this is one of the few places you can go to get that reliably. Sit in the comfortable chairs and enjoy the free wifi while they work on your vehicle and they even have sodas for you. One more thing, they seem to have an ability to obtain hard to find parts, so dont be shy with the older car, bring it in and see what they can do for you. I am sure youll be pleasantly surprised. I know I was, more than once.
