----- LONG STORY SHORT----- I would not recommend this establishment. The folks here don’t value your time or prove themselves capable of adequate customer service. Also to echo other reviews, they DO charge diagnostic fees and truly are a bit more expensive than nearby shops. Read below if you want more details. #1 Great (but odd)! My first time at this location for an oil change went well. I remember thinking how refreshing it was to have a good experience, even though another customer came in that was extremely dissatisfied with his. It was a little off-putting and I wondered how we couldve had such different experiences. Noted. #2 Not So Great My second experience went okay. As for labor, my car was repaired just fine. Customer service however, lacked. I waited for nearly half a day for a quote. Eventually I called them and was informed my quote had been done all day. Great -- would have been nice to have received it! #3 Down Right Infuriating I decided to give them one more try. This is by far the worst experience of the three, and I found myself storming into their office area just as the other customer I saw on my first visit. I dropped my car off on a Saturday and after inspection, was told my car was functioning properly. When I went to pick it up, it was not functioning as they said, so we all decided the part needed replacing. I left my car again on Sunday and called first thing Monday AM to check in. I expressed to the employee to please alert me with timing as soon as he could, as I needed to get to work ASAP. He said he’d call back, but never did. I called once more early afternoon and they said it would be complete by 4:30 and they’d call me. But the phone never rang (getting used to this circus). I called again at 5:45 shortly before close only to be informed that once more, there is nothing wrong with my car -- what??? I immediately explained my displeasure. I’d missed my entire work day and still didnt have a solve to my car’s issue, which in my opinion is a danger. I just “need to be cognizant of it” -- really? My biggest issue though, was that there was ZERO communication. They absolutely knew per our phone conversation I was not happy. In their response to me, they displayed they aren’t equipped with the tools to handle an upset customer. Their chance at redeeming themselves was when I went to pick up my car. I was greeted with a shrug of the shoulders and a lack luster "well sorry" type attitude. They had at least 3 people in the front desk area and the reasoning for the lack of communication was that, "this is the busiest shop Ive ever worked at”. If thats truly the reason (which I highly doubt given my compiled experiences), HIRE MORE PEOPLE. Allow room to care for and manage your customers! Needless to say, they did not redeem themselves. Its a shame, they let a potential solid customer for many years to come, walk right out the door. I do wonder if they ever would’ve called me at all.

I went here the beginning of summer 2011. My vehicle was having a lot of front end noise and I suspected ball joint problems based on what a tire service center had told me when I replaced my 4 tires. Driving my vehicle was becoming uncomfortable because of the noise. I had a couple of highway trips planned and wanted to get it taken care of right away so took it to honest 1 in Roseville. The staff were very friendly, but I ended up paying over $900 in repair. My initial estimate was just over $600. Many of the items repaired were things I could have done on my own if Id the time. Although I didnt want to pay the $600, I just wanted to get the repair out of the way so had them work on it. After the mechanic started the repair and had everything taken apart, I received a call telling me there were additional problems. These additional problems raised the repair cost to over $900. I didnt really have much choice in the matter, I had to get these repairs done now because it was just going to cost me another alignment if I didnt. Honest 1 tried to do their best to satisfy me by giving me discounts and not including labor cost for some of the additional repairs. Unfortunately, it still cost me a lot in the end. Im a college student and paying $900 to repair a vehicle Im only going to be driving for a few more years is not of interest to me. Ill give them credit for having good customer service and being polite. For the most part, they know what they are doing and do a good job. If I had to do it over, Id get a second opinion. Them starting the repair didnt really leave that option for me however unless I had received a second opinion right away. Like I said before, I didnt have time to shop around and just wanted to get the $600 repair out of the way. I wish they would have been more thorough in their initial inspection and caught the additional problem. I would likely have made a different decision had I known about the other issue. It would have most likely been a decision that would have saved me a couple hundred dollars.

Absolutely terrible experience. I am telling everyone to avoid "Honest" Auto at all costs. First: I brought my wifes car there for an alignment because we had a coupon and the estimate for the alignment was fair. When we went to pick up the car, they told us the car needed a new valve cover gasket (didnt quote), power steering flush ($100), a brake fluid flush ($100), and front struts ($885). The struts they quoted were the Monroe quick strut, which they quoted at $333 each, with $218 labor ($109/hour). I decided to ignore it since the struts looked fine , but I did look up the cost of the struts ($120 each for the exact same strut). Besides that, they dont look like they would take me more than an hour to replace. Second: I had new tires installed on my old accord and because of the affordable alignment cost, decided to take my car there and ignore all of their extra bogus quotes (clearly they make their money from "finding" things wrong with your car). I had an appointment at 5pm and the store closed at 6. At approximately 5:45 I saw them take the car back. At 6:15 they told me that when the put the car on the rack they have to depress the brake (couldnt seem to explain why) and when they did that, the brake hose "blew". They said it happens on older cars and "it wasnt anything I did or they did". But no worries, "its a really cheap part and it will only take an hour to do". They charged me $62 for the small piece of flexible brake hose. The same hose at orielly and Napa cost $20 and Im sure the shops can get it for cheaper than me. After looking at reviews, I saw someone experienced the exact same thing and when they asked to see the hose it looked like it had been cut. Obviously, it is possible that my brake hose actually broke, but needless to say, I am skeptical. If you have ANY other options and want to avoid outrageous part and labor costs, dont go to Honest 1 Auto.

Have been taking my vehicles to these guys for the past year. I usually find a good oil change coupon and they are courteous and easy to deal with. My check engine light came on so we brought it into them and had them diagnose the problem. Apparently, a faulty oxygen sensor was the reason for the check engine light. It was fun to hear that the spark plugs/wires and lower intake gasket also needed to be replaced. Another fun fact was that we replaced the lower intake gasket about a year ago (different town). After getting a second opinion, we were told the gasket and plugs/wires were fine. Saved 1400 bucks by not going here. (They recently replaced a thermostat for my other car and after 150 bucks, was told it didnt need to be replaced). Not sure if theyve got some new guys working there, but its changed in "honesty" over the last year. Did get a phone call from them wondering how the service was...told them the truth and they said theyd get back to me. Still waiting......Your call, but Id recommend a second opinion before you commit to them. !!!UPDATE!!! Ok. So I did get a call back from the owner. He apologized and said he was "investigating" the employee that did our service. We even got a check for $150 in the mail for the thermostat charge. So, they admitted a mistake and paid me back. That does not happen. Changed my mind and rating from 2 to 4 stars.
