This is not a review towards the poor service of scheduling, reservations or employee service. This is for their management. I hope UHaul sees this and truly digs into the problem of their 2.8 rating. I reserved online a car hauler for a trip. It was set up to have the equipment returned in Blaine. (one would assume you would be driving somewhere unloaded and driving back loaded) I have rented plenty of times with UHaul but was denied a trailer here. The employee at the store asked me "Where are you traveling with the trailer?" (A question I have never been asked before with renting a car hauler) I told them Rice lake Wisconsin (a 2 hour trip) and was denied renting a trailer because the "long distance of an unloaded car trailer will cause damage to your truck" Lets not get into the details but I would love to see the proof and evidence of this " towing statistic" from them. They told me I have to "get my equipment in Wisconsin, before 4pm or just arrive there in the morning." (thats not how customer service and scheduling works) But again, the employee was probably just doing their job and even tho they could have been a tad nicer, I told them I will have to find a different location because I have rented a car hauler driving from Shakopee to Detroit Lakes from UHaul and never had an issue. I went to a 2nd location in Coon Rapids and the gentleman were nice, but immediately said they "just got a call from the Manager in Blaine and you have to go to Wisconsin to get your trailer" This audacity from the manager of the Blaine store absolutely blows my mind. I cannot understand the reason for being so petty. Let the stores operate by themselves, my god. If the Coon Rapids store would have told me the same thing, cool. No problem. Whoever runs the Blaine location is awful. You look like idiots playing games and calling other stores to turn down customers. Coon Rapids wont be getting any 1 star reviews, but this place should be avoided at all costs. Look for other locations if and save yourself a headache. I know I did, and I got my trailer in the end.

Worst U-haul location ever encountered! They are lucky I cant give negative stars!!! The manager is a very horrible person to even try to work with or communicate with. Was very rude and not helpful at all. Was going to rent a trailer, had it all hooked up and after all the paperwork asked for my ID. I then went into my wallet to get the ID and noticed it was left at the dealership where I was just at picking up my truck to get this trailer. I was going to have my ID faxed over or emailed or even have a picture of it sent over to them so they could have it on record and the guy at the counter said that will work, perfect. Halfway through them sending the fax/email over the manager says that wont work. I run a $4 million dollar business and have accounts everywhere and never had this kind of problem. So after he said that wont work, I said fine I will have someone else come get the trailer and drive it. The manager says that will be fine but still needed to see an ID from me!!!...???? Im not even going to be driving it at this point now so why would my ID matter.... I have every form of business credit cards, personal cards, check cards, social security card and an email of my license from the dealership and an entire different driver to take the trailer and they would not work with me at all. Very poor management, I clearly showed everything necessary to show them that I had a valid State License and even had another driver ready to come up to get the trailer. Very unprofessional and not sure how this location has gotten its management, but if I had a manager for one of my companies that acted this way I would fire on the spot. Not only was it a big inconvenience and waste of time but he was completely rude!!!! Stay away from this place. There is a reason they only have 2 stars at this location and still declining. U-Haul CHANGE THE MANAGEMENT AT THIS LOCATION!

If I could give them no stars, I would. I will never do business with U-Haul ever again after this experience- it has been the absolute worst experience ever and I have moved a lot! The counter staff is defensive and rude. They say they record their phone conversation so they can keep their promises to customers, but they dont review the phone conversations, so any "" promises they make to you will not be honored. Staff lies to the manager in fact they said they had called and left messages on my phone I never in fact got any message confirming my pick up time even after I had called or week in advance. They told me I had to turn my box in on one day then they changed the date without telling me. If I hadnt called multiple times and finally spoke to the manager, I would have been charged for another months rent for returning my box on the date in which I was told it was due. So I can guarantee you youll get a different story depending on who you talk to - despite the fact that I reached out to them multiple times talked to multiple customer service reps who were not at their location who were actually very kind but the people at the Blaine location on Central are the worst. This is explains why Uhaul was on undercover boss and exposed to be so dysfunctional. I was proactive and responsible with them, and believed what they told me trusting that I wouldnt have any surprises, boy was that wrong! I didnt want anything to go wrong with the move, I know how and stressful conditions become and details can get dropped, so I was very proactive with this operation, but their objective is to do what they want not what the customer needs. Take your business to Penske or hire a friend with a truck youll be in better shape.

Lucy West is absolutely the rudest so call manager I have ever dealt with. Her obvious lack of management skills caused a scheduling error on their part. She resolved the issue by telling me we were suppose to drop car off all day to get a hitch installed. Even thou our appt was at 10:00. Needless to say I drove 2 hours to get a hitch put in my trunk :( Not very helpful since I have to pull a trailer home tomorrow. I understand mistakes but her disregard for us was uncalled for. She lied saying our appt was at a different time, her story just wasnt staying the same. She could have stepped up and taken responsibility for their error and this could have been worked out more pleasantly. She was not only disrespectful to me but the employees working. Nathanial tried to figure out a way to resolve this issue but Lucy rudely shut him down, not allowing him to finishing speaking. Nathanial was very respectful and pleasant. Sure glad he doesnt use Lucy as a role model. Uhaul if she is your standard for a manager you certainly need to raise the bar. I apologized to your emoyees for having to deal with her and positively the stressful environment she causes. By these reviews Ive read, unfortunately after booking with Uhaul 9890 Central Ave NE, Blaine, MN 55434. I see there are plenty of complaints, I would only wonder why you are allowing someone to cause such negative responses to your store. This isnt the first time we have dealt with Uhaul but may very well be the last if you dont step up and make changes. At least if you arent going to do it for your customers do it for your employees. Worst customer service ever!
