I shopped around for the lowest rate on an exterior 10x15 space for my father and had excellent customer service on site by Twanika. The space itself was fine. Please know that the posted rate does not include a required lock fee and insurance. After several months of renting he had a rate increase of $20/month which we thought was excessive given the size of the unit. I emailed in and was told to contact the customer service number directly and after wading through at least 10 "menu choices" finally had the chance to speak with a "customer service" rep who was very curt - NOT courteous! She did not care that my father was on fixed income.She claimed that he wasnt eligible for a reduction because incoming renters were paying $198 per month at that site but we know that that isnt honest because we were quoted a lesser amount and can shop around online to see - perhaps she was looking at climate controlled or a different sized unit??? We wont recommend Public Storage, because they seem to be enticing you in with a lower rate just to hike it later when you are all moved in and customer service at the corporate level is lacking.

MOLD ALERT!!! I moved into my unit in February of 2013 and moved out in August the same year. When I went to move my belongings out of my unit I found mold on all of my furniture and boxes. The unit was professionally stored by a moving company. After I was able to get all of my belongings out I found that the Insulation in the ceiling had been torn apart which probably led to water/moisture leaking into my unit. I had moved from out of state and had to switch insurance companies so at the time my only option for locker insurance was through the company that Public Storage partners with, Sedgwick. Sedgwick and public storage were unproffesional in their handling of the situation and did absolutly nothing to help and support my family. I ended up having to throw all of my furniture away and ended up only receiving $250 back with a $100 deductable. Place is an absolute joke. Find somewhere else to store!!!

We have always had a great experience with Donna, but I am rating this facility with one star based on our experience with having to call the on-call manager, Dan, after hours. Disclaimer: we should have pre-authorized a late access code with Donna beforehand, but after moving and packing for 3 days, it slipped our mind. We ran out of boxes while moving and had to go on a Target run to get totes, and when we came back, the gate was locked since it was after hours. We called the 1-800#, who told us to call the on-call manager, Dan. We called him two times, left a voicemail, and texted him, and he NEVER responded. We waited around for about a half hour expecting a return call since he was on-call, but he never responded. He didnt even have the decency to follow up or have his staff follow up the following day. I would beware of a place like this if you ever might be in a situation to need help after hours.

We have never rented from Public Storage before, we had used Acorn in the past. After a sour experience leaving Acorn we decided to try a different company. After browsing around online for sizes and locations we received a call from Donna. After working out the details over the phone we drove out to Chanhassen to sign the lease. Donna and another older fellow were so kind and inviting. They answered all of our questions and gave us a tour of the storage lot and showed me the best route to drive into the lot with a truck and trailer. I would recommend this Public Storage location to anyone and everyone looking for a storage unit. A++++.

Donna is fantastic! I was in a real bind. I have stored my boat for the winter in a friends garaged for 13 years. I was planning on storing it this coming weekend. I just found out the space is no longer available. I visited 3 Public Storage sites and was having trouble finding a unit I could get the boat into. I have to have a unit that I can back the boat straight into. Donna was incredibly helpful. She drove me around and we found a unit that would work for me and helped me try it out. She was so polite and helpful. Thank you Donna so much.

From Donna trying to give herself a 5 star review when I signed up, to a price increase right after my locker was full, to being locked out for a month this past winter due to a frozen lock (which I was threatened to not cut off myself), to evidence of rodents in my things today when I checked out... I wont be back. John is new and seems nice, which should help. Sorry John, I told you today when I checked out this was coming. Not your review, so you can offer it up the chain as room to improve.

Donna, the property manager at the Chanhassen location was terrific in offering detailed help and information in terms of unit availability, showing me the unit and confirming the right size unit, as well as the pros and cons of climate- vs. non-climate controlled units as they relate to my needs. Just all around friendly, and a great person to work with. A gem of customer service. She helps give the impression of the facility as being extremely trustworthy and efficient.

The "check-in" process was really easy! The site manager was very helpful in letting me know exactly what there was to know about the storage units and he was accommodating when we found out I needed a bigger unit. The place is very well kept and the automated lighting system is good as well. The place seems to be very well secured and I would recommend this location to anyone needing to store their stuff!! All in all, a great experience.
