It is December 27th, 2012; I had my 1997 Volvo in for oil change in April of this yr. The person working on my car liffted the hood straight up then raised the car lift and gunched my hood on a steel beam in the ceiling- when I got home and noticed this , it was getting on in the day; so I went in the next A.M. to enquire about getting it corrected.... After originally posting a "Poor" review- The actual owner (NOT MARK) saw it and was understandably upset. The owner was understanding of my post- and also took into consideration that my gripe was about stuff- more than people. I believe the mgr. here does stellar work and am very glad I kept my cool and can now REPORT: My cars hood was immediately CORRECTED (Feb/Mar of this yr.) properly- and Jeff (the mgr) gave me transportation - as this happened in the wk of negative 40 degrees. I just took the car in again today 1 June 2013 - for an oil change- new battery -and new filters! ALL is well. I appreciate a business owner/management team that will stand behind their product and their work- especially when it is LOCAL! I will continue to take my business to Columbia Heights Midas!! Thank you to Jeff-Tony and the rest of the crew as well as the owner for being a team that can be trusted! Much appreciated.

I got my oil changed and maintenance checkups here for two years while I was going to college. Biggest mistake of my life. They change your oil and theoretically check your car over, but it must not be that great. Heres my story: My heat went out shortly before I took it to this place the first time, and I specifically took it in and asked them to tell me what was wrong. They claimed my heating core was clogged, which would be $400 to flush it, possibly $800 if the flush didnt work and they had to replace the heating core. I decided that I could live without heat for awhile. Flash forward two years and my timing gasket breaks and leaks coolant onto my engine. I took it to a different mechanic where they tell me that coolant has been leaking onto my spark plugs and rusting them up (they needed to be replaced after only 30,000 miles of use...) and when they fix everything, the heat starts working. The problem had nothing to do with the heating core and many of the other issues that were wrong could have been fixed with routine maintenance checks, which I got. In short, theyre very friendly and they dont pressure you to get work done if you cant do it. But they also suck at their job. Just save yourself the money and future heartache.

These guys went above and beyond the call of duty on my 2000 Audi A6. They saved me a bunch of cash by installing a universal catalytic converter for $300 instead of the Audi one for $1200! A second trip to them saved me even more money. The Audi had a plugged muffler from the converter that had busted earlier. They looked for a local replacement, and neither the Audi dealer or anyone else had one in stock. Either one would have been more than $400 anyway. Instead, their tech cut the muffler in half, cleaned out the debris, and welded the mufler back together, and installed it back on the car for less than $200! My third trip was with my wifes VW Passat. It seemed to be getting louder. They test drove it, and inspected it fully, and did not find any holes in the exhaust system. When I asked how much for the work, they said no charge! Wow! It turned out later to be a broken motor mount causing vibration. I would recommend this shop to anyone. They are honest, fair, knowledgable, and cheap!

Went to this location for the first time with my car. The customer service was great. They took the time to explain everything to me and prices were within reason. I left happy. However, the night after my car began having problems. It was working fine before I took it to the shop and the guy even said that my car was in great condition. He gave me a few future pointers but nothing immediate. Now my car wont start, its not moving even when the gas is being pressed upon. Basically I went in with a great working care which they told me was in good working condition after they completed an inspection and now its totalled. Complete shock from this experience and unsatisfied.

Was a great experience! Took my car in for a over heating problem a few weeks ago and they were able to get me in right away that day. Was really impressed with the detail that they provided for me. They showed me a itemized receipt with each individual cost as well as showing me the broken part on the car and explaining how this was causing my car to overheat. Was also nice that during the repair they did a complementary inspection to point out to me other maintenance that should be done on my car in the near future but did not force it on me at all! This is what car repair should be like. Keep up the good work guys!

We brought our vehicle in to have several things fixed including an alarmingly bad wobble in the steering wheel. All the repairs were done quickly and at a fair price, and everything worked perfectly when it was done. Jeffs expertise made us feel comfortable that he knew exactly what was needed, and the perfect repairs proved it. The vehicle runs great now, and we know where we are taking it next time a repair is needed. Plus the people were friendly and courteous, and they serve free Caribou coffee to boot! All in all, a great experience for a potentially painful problem.

I called the shop and asked them to weld a pipe for me and also to custom bend another pipe for me. They were more than willing to do the job and the price was reasonable. I took one pipe to them and had them butt weld it for me. About two weeks later I brought my car in and had them custom bend a pipe for me and also had the mechanic install it. They did a great job both times. Easy to talk to, reasonable prices and good services. If you have an issue with your cars exhaust, take it to them. They will take care of it for you. I accidentally made an appointment with this location for an oil change (the original place I was suppose to make an appointment with is part of my lifetime oil change deal with the car I bought recently) and I will be continuing to come back to them. The awesome customer service and prompt service is great! They did an oil change and a coolant fluid flush and called me after each service was done. It was great! I will be coming back, even though I have free oil changes somewhere else, because of their attention to detail, quality service and customer service.

My daughter brought her car in because the check engine light came on. They had quoted her $78 to do a diagnostic check to find the problem. When she got there they told her they could do a scan first to see if it was something minor then do a full test if needed. It ended up being an air sensor that cost her $38. She was in from out of town so I had to look up the repair shop online. It got great reviews and after hearing her talk about the servIce she received I can see why. Thank you so much for giving her such a nice experience I greatly appreciate it.
