First off, I read these reviews, and was hesitant to rent. However, I decided it cant be that hard to rent someone a trailer for a day, so against my better judgment, I went online and reserved one for 12 hours. I got a call not long after saying I could pick up the trailer at noon on the day I needed it. I said this wouldnt work, I took a whole day off of work to move, I need it in the morning. I was told I could then only have it for seven hours. Fine, 7 hours, a veritable sprint when it comes to moving if you ask me, but whatever. So the day comes for me to get my trailer, and they wouldnt give it to me because my valid, yes VALID, Wisconsin DL was not at in-state ID, and this is apparently an unwritten policy at Uhaul. I needed proof of my residence in MN to get a trailer. Ridiculous, since Uhauls business plan is all about helping people move. Surely they encounter out of state IDs... The woman behind the counter "helping" me said that was that, tough luck, and ignored me, eventually walking away. I started to drive back to my apt to get ID, calling Uhauls 800 number, and getting a regional office, where I was told this ID stuff was untrue, and I should go back and itll be ready. I turned around, got back, and they said the lady on the phone was wrong. Now approaching an hour after my original pick up time, and an extra 20 miles driven... After arguing more and them dealing with the corporate office I could have the trailer with a $300 deposit. Having no other alternatives, I took it. I had been raining, and there was standing water in the trailer. My move was more hectic than it was already, thanks entirely to Uhauls utter lack of customer service, and the inept employees both on location and on the phone. I wish 0 stars was possible. You couldnt pay me enough to rent from this location ever again. Save yourself the hassle, and drive a little further to get a trailer.

Ten Reviews. Eight are one star, one is two stars, one is four stars. Eight one star reviews? Seriously? These people are surely just unreasonable jerks who had a bad experience and want to vent about it. Im a reasonable, intelligent person, Ill be fine. All they have to do is let me borrow a trailer for a day. Ugh. Terrible phone manners, terrible people skills, inept employees and more is what you can expect from this location. Ive used U-Haul before without incident. U-haul is not the problem, this location and its employees is the problem. Dont even think about asking these poor, overworked souls to do anything to assist you, especially during a smoke break, or even if theyre thinking about their upcoming smoke break. I called 3 times before I got to talk to a person to set up a reservation. I showed up, they didnt have a trailer for me. After arguing and being told I must have never called, I actually showed the outgoing call on my phone, with the time and duration. They said theyd see what they could do, and came back and said I could use a smaller trailer for the day, and "of course the smaller fee would apply" as if they were doing me a favor. The only person who seemed to have his head on straight was the guy who I returned the trailer to at the end of the day. He checked it out, thanked me, and that was that. Short, sweet, simple. Youd be better off trying to go to the zoo and borrow a pack animal than renting from here. As an added bonus, the pack animals intelligence would probably rival the combined IQ of the entire staff.

I rented here when I moved two months ago. Bad, bad customer service. I asked for a 24 hour rental, they scheduled it for 7-4. I called and said no, I need it all day. They closed at 7 or something like that. I got there the day of, and they said "ok, just make sure its returned by 4 because someone has it rented after you." WTF??? I had to dump everything off in the driveway and run to get it there in time because they said they would charge by the MINUTE if I was late!! Lesson learned, get EVERYTHING in WRITING when you make the reservation!!! Oh, to top off the insult, *I* had asked to rent it for an evening, overnight, then return. They told me they didnt do that, but then why did I have to return the truck because "someone else has it after me"???? I asked for $10 off for the inconvenience, they wouldnt budge! Oh, yeah, and the check engine light came on during my trip, luckily I was only a couple miles from home so I kept going. I talked to them and they said "Yeah, that truck has that problem sometimes". WTF??? FIX IT!!!!!! Customer service staff is rushed and quick to brush you off. Dont rent here if you can help it.

They cancelled a hitch install appointment due to staffing issues. They didnt immediately offer to reschedule at another location for the same time, but I pushed for this because I had taken time off work. They sent me to Coon Rapids and said that the hitch and wiring was in stock. The hitch was in stock, but the wiring was not. They also told me that they would not have time before the end of the day anyway (at 4:30pm) for the wiring I wanted, even though I had an appointment. I left with a professionally installed hitch that Im happy with, but I did not get the wiring I was scheduled for. I decided to install the wiring as I should not have to deal with this sort of crummy customer service. They even told me over the phone that they would probably be able to do the wiring at a reduced cost due to the inconvenience. After promising to call back with the price to do the wiring, I didnt hear from them, even a week later. Dont rely on this location to follow up, they wont. I will not be using Uhaul for hitch installs on future vehicles. I will be going through local companies instead.

Ive read the other reviews, and felt a need to comment. I have rented a 6x12 trailer twice for moving my stuff out of state within the last 6 months. Each time, I have made an appt directly with this location, and I have been treated courteously and professionally. The trailer was available each time, and I received assistance with hitching up the trailer to my SUV. I was even offered extra days to cover the return of the trailer to the nearest UHaul location from my rural home (70 miles away) after I unloaded my trailer. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. My needs were met, and I was happy doing business with them. I just reserved another trailer today, and the person who took my call was courteous and quick, and gave me one additional day with no extra charge. No complaints here.

My father and I got there at 6:35am hoping to be the first ones in line for a truck. We waited until 7am, the posted "OPEN" time. At 7am no one was there. At 7:10 am, NO one. Finally at 7:15am, one employee pulls into the drive way. The other two show up after that and finally opened the doors. If youre going to operate a business dealing with timed rentals, it be extremely helpfully to show up on time!!! Certainly customer service isnt one of their concerns. At the counter, we were told to hurry up about choosing a truck. Seriously, youre 15 mins late, and I have to hurry up?!?! Im never going back to this location.
